via press note:
TWC delivered an average audience of more than 2.035M Total Viewers (P2+) on Monday, making it TWC’s 3rd highest 3a-3a Total Day average in network history among P2+ and HH, and 6th highest day among 25-54.
- · Among P25-54, TWC achieved a Total Day (3a-3a) delivery of 800K on Monday, now the network’s highest rated day of the year for the target demo. This is +72% higher than Isaac’s landfall day, although not as strong as when Irene made landfall last year (1037 among P25-54, on a Saturday).
- · Viewing among P25-54 peaked on Monday night in the hours after Sandy made landfall (at 10:30pm, 1594).
- · TWC remained the #1 cable network among P25-54 from 6a-9a on Monday, leading all morning programming with Your Weather Today, and ranked #3 among all cable networks across Total Day and Primetime. TWC was also the top news network of the day, outperforming closest competitor FOXNC in the target demo across Total Day, Morning, and Prime.

Strikes me as a little tasteless that the Weather Channel puts out press releases bragging about ratings that are clearly the result of a devastating hurricane
With numbers this solid, Sandy needs to be given a full-season pick-up.
But seriously…I tend to agree with Mumbo. Seems a little tasteless.
Give TWC a break. How often can it crow about its numbers?
The spin would be that ‘TWC is where people go to get news and info when a big storm is lurking’.
Nothing wrong with that.
