You can see TV ratings from other recent Overnight ratings reports here.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    @ rob60990

They are out in force today when everyone knows the reported ratings for today are meaningless. Even the Nets are taking all the results with a grain of salt (and I will include finals).

As soon as CBS and CW pulled their shows yesterday, everyone knew the ratings today would have a big “asterisk” next to it.

    The mean nothing.

  • rob60990

What does politics have to do with this?

  • Traywana

people can of course be pigeonholed. There was a poll that showed rednecks like Castle and the rest of us don’t. Why are you being so defensive? The lady does protest too much???

  • Baaa!

Yeah Castle is such a disappointment that it has gone on to five seasons(in a slot that ABC couldn’t get a show to hold ratings until Castle),syndication, best selling books and strong DVD sales.Poor ABC must just be kicking themselves for that. Troll logic is funny.

  • Charmed

Why is everyone saying The X Factor’s ratings are terrible, it was a repeat!

  • Traywana

What does politics have to do with this? The election is in 1 week. We could all be dead from war with Russia if R/R get in.

You are so out of touch with reality! That MIGHT be good thing, considering all that is going on.

  • Holly Quixote

I think Traywana may have hit on a good strategy here… I’m laughing to hard to respond.

  • rob60990

This is not a politics website so who cares?

  • Hmm

    @ Holly Quixote

I think you are right. As a huge Castle fan, I’m beginning to find the troll amusing.

  • Baaa!

@Traywana- I may be out of touch with YOUR reality and that is a good thing. I’ll stick to the actual performance of the show not a personal dislike of a show to base my own opinion on. I dislike shows like The Voice, but then again I cannot dispute its a ratings magnet and yet I don’t bash its success.

  • Kipper Ken

Wow, does nobody read what the little “R” means beside a program? Everyone’s dumping on X Factor … it was a repeat people!

I am very curious to know how you think, with an election 1 week away.
You remind me of all young folk. i know this isn’t a political site but why not break the rules and tell us how you young folk think.

  • Emma

Don’t really understand why Castle fans are getting excited by these ratings…they are incredibly inaccurate(as is the case for all the ratings last night)…?

  • Tom S

Did nobody read the red print? Take these numbers with a grain of salt…they don’t really mean anything, wait until the tv schedule returns to normal (ie next week) before you start bashing/ praising shows

  • JAA

why do all bipolar trolls come out on Monday?

  • Baaa!

Emma-I think any rational Castle fan knows they are inflated, but then again WooHoo! I expect a drop and even if its not large, the next week will bring it back into its current usual ratings for this season the low 2’s. That will feed the trolls and their excitement will be equally non-rational.

  • Traywana

Reality called! They are not amused with your musings.
