It’s funny how last season people were complaining that Nikita should be in the 9 o clock slot in stead of the 8. Now that it’s at 9, everybody’s saying it’s too hard for the show and it should move back to 8. Fact is people don’t watch Nikita.
Tyler, people were saying that so it would get SPN as a lead in, not because it would have done better at 9pm. Having it the other way around made little sense other than the fact that SPN for whatever reason has to air at 9pm.
This is just flat out disrespectful
Joseph, When/Where did CW say that?You shouldn’t jump to conclusions.Also, Top Model has been regulated to one cycle during summer so what would air ?I think OhSit & Breaking Pointe will be summer shows again.Also, CW used to air encores on Fri but stopped 3-4 years ago(with the exception of replaying two new shows lpilots the last two years) in favor of more hours of original programming and with Mark P adding 50 hours of original programming last season, I doubt they’ll go back.Also,as SPN proved last year, shows can survive and be decently rated on CW on Fri.
@Ram510
What’s really disrespectful is the CW putting Nikita on the air with the ratings it gets and then actually renewing it. I truly hope WB either loses money on this turkey fest or that it takes them years to re-coop their costs and see any profit. If Nikita truly does well overseas, fine, make the show and sell it overseas and let the handful of NorAm fans buy the DVDs and/or downloads … but put on a show that gets ratings higher than a a test pattern if you want to really call yourself a network.
ymmv
Shame about Nikita’s ratings. I always watch it live with my brother. Such a great show!!!
@Joseph
Chances are that the CW will stop programming first-run scripted fare on Fridays. It will be “Top Model” followed by either a rerun or another reality show
This is the last ANTM original until next summer.
If the CW decides to pull all scripted programming from Fridays, I expect it will be followed by returning the night to the affiliates in September.
They pulled Nikita because it splits its audience with Twilight fans, and the last Twilight is coming out that night so everyone would be going to that. If they aired it, it would’ve gotten a 0.0 in the ratins, which unfortunatley for TV By the Numbers would’ve gotten like 1,000 comments.

And the factual basis for that statement? Or is this just based on a survey of you besties?

By that form of Fan excuse bingo logic The CW would have pulled the May 4th 2012 airing of Nikita in the face of what will be proven to be the much larger opening of The Avengers. They did not and Nikita managed to hold its .4 and 1.2 million viewers from the week before.
Maybe there going to put Nikita at 8pm once ANTM ends and during midseason putting Cult at 9pm. Probably getting some ideas to gain (new) Nikita viewers.
next move is to air repeats at 8pm, getting away from 3 other police procedurals might help.
It costs nothing to edit special show and would get similar ratings.

guess the thought Top Model might help NIkita, but it might have hurt it.

Bern, I don’t think they’d premire a new show on Fri, but maybe Cult in EO place Midseason?I don’t know that they’d move either of thier struggling new shows -EO or B& B- to Fri either.I doubt they’ll do reruns-or if they do, not for very long cause they want to increase original program hours.
@Richard Steven Hack
Where did I say it was Thanksgiving Week? I was responding to George saying they were bumping Nikita the following week which is Thanksgiving. So there was never going to be a new episode
In my opinion, the logical choice is the keep Nikita at 9pm after ANTM ends and put Arrow reruns at the 8pm slot, that way Nikita could still potentially gain some Arrow fans.
Then midseason, bump Nikita to 8pm, BTB to 9pm and put Cult in BTB’s old time slot at 9pm. That way those who are fans of Grimm and Nikita (which many have vocalised they are) can do the Nikita/Grimm combo (and since Fringe is gone by then too, it works out nicely).
Obviously the ratings won’t skyrocket or anything, but it helps keep Nikita stable and potentially gives it a couple of .1 rating bumps.
In other words, After ANTM ends you would have:
Thursday:
TVD 8pm
BTB 9pm
Fri:
Arrow (R) 8pm
Nikita 9pm
And at midseason:
Thursday:
TVD 8pm
Cult 9pm
Fri:
Nikita 8pm
BTB 9pm
Not putting Cult after TVD would be a colossal mistake on the CW’s part. Advertising Matt Davis’ new show during TVD will leave TVD fans staying tuned to watch his new show. And then next year they can move it around, or if it’s a hit keep it in the same time slot during Fall or Winter and premiere a new show during the other half of the broadcast year.
KavynI’m a VD fan & like Matt Davis but won’t tune into Cult as it dosent look like my kinda show,maybe others will be/are like me.Plus,no show had had great retention or sucsess after VD.
I am surprised. I thought Nikita could get 0.0 and stay on the air.
