NASHVILLE truly is a good show for ABC, but it’s in a dead slot for them, REVENGE performed BETTER in the slot than NASHVILLE is! I don’t care what anyone on this website thinks, this is how I feel, and I feel REVENGE should move back to Wednesday.

Fans followed REVENGE to Sunday, they can follow them right back to Wednesday. NASHVILLE is lucky actually, they are topping that NBC crap CHICAGO FIRE, if SVU was there, I think NASHVILLE would be slaughtered times two by CSI (CBS) & SVU (NBC)!

Jenny is filling the dumb hoe quota for the night.

“…few, if any, professions that are accurately portrayed on TV dramas“

Believe it or not Barney Miller was praised as being the most accurate depiction of real cop life. Great old show, wonderful characters expertly portrayed. Catch if you haven’t seen it yet.

For medical shows, Scrubs really nailed the serious hospital scenes, easily the best medical show since MASH. Interesting that 1/2 hour comedies are often more accurate than the 1 hour dramas. For medical shows, I’d say St. Elsewhere also did a pretty good job.

yes for chicago fire for adjustimg up. maybe it will barely make it to a short second season. people, once you get past that abominable pilot, its actually a really good show

  • Chis

So theres this hurricane that left millions of people out of power in the very populous region of the north east .. Just saying

cry me a river, people said the same thing about Wolf’s Law & Order: Los Angeles, and it sucked until Dick Wolf fired half of his first writing staff and kick Skeet Ulrich off.

    @ JD

I just literally laughed out loud, that’s hilarious

  • Matt

I know in the Chicagoland area the CW was showing the Bulls game, so that hurt Arrow and Supernatural’s numbers.

    8 million/300 million < 3% Just saying.

The X Factor is woeful. It tied an ancient kid’s Halloween special, which I absolutely love(long live Charlie Brown), in the demo and lost in total viewers. What’s the secret of this Simon Cowell vanity project staying on? Seems like it would get too expensive to keep airing with these bad numbers and what I am sure is mighty handsome compensation for SC.

  • tony

I think ‘Candy’ secretely loves Chicago Fire. Like in that elementary school kid kind of way. Goes after it every chanc eshe gets. Except the argument makes no sense.

  • Brain Doesn’t Work

    @ tony

Yeah I see the same names hating on Chicago Fire all the time all they do is talk about CF which is another sign that they secretly love the show which is stupid because nobody on this site is scared to let people know what shows they like except these idiots.

  • toadytoady

I think they want SVU to fail which is why they stuck it in that very competitive timeslot, They are just using it to prop up Chicago Fire.

Dick Wolf seems to want to move from being “intelligent voice of the nation” with his Law and Orders to “pin up boys of the nation” with Chicago Fire.He doesnt want to educate anymore. He just wants to entertain. He doesnt realise that education can be entertaining.

Law shows are not popular at the moment.Harrys Law,Common Law,Fairly Legal,Private Practice are all cancelled or ending. There is a real problem with the approach to Law on TV . It doesnt attract young people. There needs to be a fresh approach. I suggest following the day in the life of a cleaner in the Law Courts! Anything would be better than the current stale approach to Law.

  • Networkman

Television viewers are not really excited about the new offerings this season. I am noticing that many of the new programs are doing poorly. Arrow is great for CW. And Revolution is holding up due to The Voice. I feel its viewership is poor but the majority of people watching Revolution are the desire demographic. Other than that these new dramas and comedies are not break out hits.

Networks will have to be patient with those they feel have potential. The Neighbors is one of those programs. It is very consistent, hovering around 1.9-2.0. It could be one of those shows that gains viewers during the Summer when it is repeated. As for the failed dramas on ABC, I know that those involved with Body of Proof have to feel a bit more at ease knowing there is an opportunity for the show to gain traction.

  • toadytoady

Is Body of proof different? No one has really challenged the way Law is presented on TV. Its the same old stuff, which might attract older people, but not young people who might not share the same feelings about Law.

  • Networkman

CSI is on fire this season! After Revolution it is the top rated drama @10pm. Next year, CBS may have to consider putting another drama after Criminal Minds. CSI may be needed to rejuvenate Sunday Night. It would be a great fit after Amazing Race.

@toadytoady, I agree with you that law shows are no longer popular. Detective/cop shows, soaps and hospital dramas are also a thing of the past when it comes to this new generation. They are looking for alot of action. So of course, I would say they would be willing to check out superheroes. Also any concept dealing with crisis such as Revolution would be great. Right now the youth demographic want to watch zombies and vampires. I feel concepts that have supernatural/horror or fantasy elements are what the networks will have to start to lean towards. I feel Hannibal will be highly tested. Zero Hour also looks good as long as it doesn’t get bogged down in politics. The younger generation doesn’t want to deal with that as well.

  • toadytoady

I agree. Fantasy and atmospheric drama, intrigue and thriller as in Homeland, and the escapism of comedy/reality shows.A lot of young people do not have the old fashioned view of heroism. They are much more complicated. Even the new James Bond movie has recognised that with a Bond character darker and more complicated and mysterious than before.More nuances in Skyfall than any othe Bond action movie.

The networks underestimate its audience…which is why young people are flocking to cable and also to the Skyfall box oofice it seems….or maybe its Judi Dench they flock to see!

  • Networkman

I’ve read many comments on this board and most people seem to feel Nashville is bland. There is not enough tension in the show. I do feel Connie and Hayden need more screen time together. They should have been forced to do the concert together. I feel too many other characters were added much to soon and it is taking away from the original concept of the drama. People are seeking All About Eve.

  • Networkman

@toadytoady, I also feel many shows that were tried in the past were ahead of there times and would actually be more suitable in today’s landscape. Jericho, Firefly and American Gothic are a few examples. I agree that they are looking for shows that are more darker in tone, something that would be more relatable to what we are dealing with in today’s society. Characters have to be complicated and imperfect. I actually feel a show such as Oz would now work on today’s broadcast networks. Networks are going to have to begin to expand their boundries and become more diversify or lose audiences every year.

  • BigBrotherFan

Subergatory again does an Awful job with MF lead-in. Please move it back to 8:30 stat and give Happy Endings that slot where it was atleast posting 3’s several times. IT WOULD BE MUCH MORE BETTER for those 18-49 numbers for sure. HE was posting way better than a 2.4!

DAMMIT! It would help NASHVILLE in some way, anyway! This is a great show and it kills me to see it go even lower. Thanks for giving it the worst possible show as a lead-in ABC. I suppose it could be worse and have come after NEIGHBOURS *Shudder*..It really should be paired with REVENGE or GREYS. Whats that for the count? 666 Park Ave 1.6 this week? Nashville 1.8 and LR 1.3? I can actually see ABC going with 666 Park Ave and I am sure its the cheapest of the 3 and thats a damn shame because NASHVILLE is superior to all three but I guess is proving to NICHE. I like and watch all three and ABC will pick up ONE for a back 9.

Chicago Fire is STABLE. I dunno if a 1.6 would warrant a full back 9 though I dont think even NBC is that desperate (maybe a 15-18 episodes season?). The comment about CF getting a better lead in than NASHVILLE is absolute GARBAGE! Chicago Fire is doing so well with its lead-in because it paired with a similar themed show LAW AND ORDER Both gritty cop/firefighter shows, Both with DICK WOLF as the creator, please explain to me how Chicago Fire is not being given the best lead-in..Sure Law and Order may not have amazingly high numbers but without taking in THE VOICE it is been given the best possible lead-in given the shows similar nature. ANY SHOW could hold a 2.7-3.0 after THE VOICE on Mondays @10pm I am sure.

Nashville follows a light hearted family skewing comedy that it has next to nothing in common with. I’m sure the 40-something year old father CANT WAIT to keep his channel on ABC afterwards for a brand new NASHVILLE! Are you kidding me? I’m sure the 18-year-old is gonna wanna watch a bunch of middle aged country signers trying to plan a tour or argue about politics over a show where in more cases than 1 the fire fighters seem to lose their tops , also CHICAGO FIRE is very SOAPY, too. Watch it. Between the very weak Jesse Spencers long gazes with the female paramedic and Kinney’s character sleeping with the high officer of….? daughter and Spencer trying to make things work with his doctor GF it’s a soap with cool actions scenes inserted into it about firefighters.

Please dont try and tell me Chicago Fire (outside the voice) isnt being given a good leadin and Nashville is getting a “great one”.
