Sicilan 179,000 jobs were added last month thats more than what was expected..7.9 is really irrelvent..givin its still under 8 percent..
@1966
he said it might be weeks before we know the winner.
He is correct fine lady. Ohio has a provision law that states if someone got an absentee ballot and did not mail it in, they can still vote but the vote can’t be counted for 10 days. The only way that won’t happen is if Romney loses Ohio but wins enough electoral votes without it, OR, if one of them wins by more of a margin than the number of provisional votes cast.
Otherwise if it is Ohio that is the decider? It will be 10 days before a winner is announced.
@James
7.9 is really irrelvent..givin its still under 8 percent..
Really and why would that be? Not to mention the stocks exchange was what Minus 140 due to the cough cough good report?
Did you also know that last month they started using a different method to get the figures and last month they somehow left out California’s numbers which would have made the UE rate at 8.2%.
Please explain how the report was good news James.
Latest* not lastest… Haha my bad.
The reason it went up to 7.9 is because people are looking for work.so thats makes them unemployed..if they werent the number would drop to 7.7 or 7.6
I hope the election will be decisive one way or the other. I hate to think of the nation having to go through weeks of litigation and recounts.
@James
The reason it went up to 7.9 is because people are looking for work.so thats makes them unemployed..
Good Point, that much is correct sir
@hoppy
just think of this board.
Obama held a rally two hours ago, and only had a crowd of 2,800 people. Mitt Romney is holding a rally tonight in West Chester with an expected 50,000 people!!!!!! I wouldn’t listen to the media. Ohioans are going to put Romney over the top!!!!!!
@James
Also there is this as well from the department of labor and stats
*Long-Term Unemployment Rises in October to 40.6% (funny how this never gets reported)
The long-term unemployment rate rose to 40.6 percent in October, up from September’s level of 40.1 percent of the total unemployed, according to a report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics Friday.
Long-term unemployment is unemployment lasting for 27 consecutive weeks or longer, according to BLS.
The government reported that just over 5 million people were unemployed for more than six months – 27 weeks – rising from September’s level of 4.8 million.
Long-term unemployment has remained elevated since the end of the recession in 2009. In January 2009, when President Obama took office, there were 2.7 million long-term unemployed Americans. By August of that year – after the recession had ended in June – that number had crossed the 5 million mark.
Long-term unemployment remained above 5 million people until September, when it fell to 4.8 million.
** Summary The economy is after 4 years still crawling at a snails pace, it’s been 4 full years, and no sign of it gaining speed. It is NOT good.
@Hoppy
I don’t expect it to drag out, I still think at this point 51-48 Romney
and he will get 277 to 295 Votes. Then again I predicted a crash this year and it didn’t happen
Why do people still ignore the real unemployment numbers? If you really believe the unemployment is at 7.9% then you need to do a little research. Its a bit higher then that. Convincing yourself Obama is doing a great job is pure ideologue bias. This election has turned into “my guy is better then your’s” but that’s because the media only posts optimistic numbers.
PS:
Everyone please note this from my post above from the DLS
*Long-term unemployment has remained elevated since the end of the recession in 2009.
Has remained ELEVATED. There is no growth, Millions have been out of work so long they are no longer are counted.
MSNBC President Apologizes for Chris Matthews ‘Unhinged’
@
James 171,000 not 179,000
If everyone went out to look for work the rate would be over 10%. That is how bad it is.
James there are less people working today then four years ago. They are also working for 5 thousand dollars less on the average. A disaster!!!
@ papa,
“Also people will have that 7.9% number to think about when they walk in the booth.”
You mean 171,000 jobs created in October ?
@ Dirty D,
“Btw I’ll post the lastest Rasmussen results for each swing state”
HAHAHA , Rasmussen …. really ? Rasmussen exist to keep the righties hopeful.
Rasmussen is probably one of the worst polls when it comes to states, they only survey 500 people electronically from their list and their margin of errors are really high.
Rasmussen had Ohio tied in 2008, you wanna guess who won Ohio ? and by 4.6% btw…
Rasmussen only accurate on national polls and currently they have it tied.
Righties wake up ! Obama only needs Ohio and this thing is OVER !
in the worst case scenario Obama will win by 271 vs 267.
@Dirty_D
Why do people still ignore the real unemployment numbers?
Good question, so many are not even in the stats anymore that on any count they don’t even exist anymore.
Election Projection has high reputation of being accurate , and they have Obama winning the electoral 290 vs 248 but losing the national vote :
