FACE THE NATION ALSO POSTS ITS BEST DELIVERIES IN BOTH HOUSEHOLDS AND VIEWERS SINCE JANUARY 2005

SEASON-TO-DATE, “FACE THE NATION” IS FIRST IN HOUSEHOLDS, VIEWERS AND ADULTS

CBS News’ FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER was the #1 public affairs show on Sunday, Oct. 28, placing first in both viewers and households. The CBS broadcast posted a 2.7/07 in households, 3.79m viewers and 0.9/04 in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FACE THE NATION also posted its best deliveries in both households and viewers since January 23, 2005. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 47% of the CBS affiliates.

Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION is up +23% in households (from 2.2/06), +24% in viewers (from 3.05m) and +13% in adults 25-54 (from 0.8/03).

Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in households (2.3/06), viewers (3.17m) and adults 25-54 (0.8/03, tied with NBC) among the Sunday morning public affairs shows. Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +15% in households (from 2.0/05), +14% in viewers (from 2.79m) and even in adults 25-54 compared to last season.

On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer discussed the projected path of Hurricane Sandy with CBS News Hurricane Consultant David Bernard. CBS News Correspondents Chip Reid and Elaine Quijano reported on the storm from Ocean City, Md. and Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. Schieffer interviewed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and hosted a political roundtable with Ruth Marcus of The Washington Post; Mark Leibovich of The New York Times Magazine; Bob Shrum of The Daily Beast; John Fund of The National Review; and CBS News Political Director John Dickerson.

FACE THE NATION is broadcast on Sundays at 10:30 AM, ET (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Mary Hager is the Executive Producer.
