Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    Halves, please?

TVD deserved to be number one until Arrow came, dont get me wrong i love TVD and im a huge fan of TVD, but in quality Arrow is much more appealing and i cant wait till the next episode comes i think more people even women should watch it i made my sister watch an episode and now she is hooked and she doesnt like the lead that much but she loves the show people should watch it so to all TVD fans you should give Arrow a try and to all Arrow fans you should give TVD a try as well because those are the best 2 shows on the cw after those comes Supernatural. And talking about TVD it was kinda slow at the begining of this season but now its awesome again. Till now season 3 is the best season for me and if this season improves and gets better like how it improved from season 1 to 2 and so on it will be so awesome. Seriously Guys Watch ARROW PLEASE I LOVE THIS SHOW AND WANT TO SEE THE RATINGS RISE ALOT.

  • aiden

@Coling i hope your right and the show up in de coming weeks because the show need back to stady in the 3! fox is killing the x factor!

  • Perdix

X-Factor skews younger and it has a great social ratings, better than The Voice. Don’t understand why?!

  • mxxlive

@RyanCanada I agree! I loved every bit of it

  • K

Go Elementary. One of the best shows on Tv, bar none.

  • robin

oh I almost forgot TVD beat arrow in viewers too. I know viewers dont matter but still.

  • Jess

HOD is higher on the save list than BATB in my opinion. HOD has been pretty stable all season without a lead in and has greater competition on the tuesday 8:00pm slot. Just no excuse for any show to loose that much of a lead in like the TSC and BATB.

  • SPM

LOOOOOOOOOOOL @ Floppity & the Beast

    0.6 AGAIN :D

    Bye bye

  • Petar Ivanov

@ 2 and half men weak?

TAHM ratings are great(BUT after TBBT). But this is most expensive show on broadcast. Beat even TBBT and MF. Only 3 main leads take 1.5 million $ per episode. Wich is insane. Ashton kutcher take 700 000$. Now the question is will syndication is still enough that WB can lower the fees for CBS. CBS can go with new sitcoms like 2BG or dramas like POI wich fees will be way down.

“@The Following, they can’t until 2022, at least not easily. They’re also adding 2 division series starting in 2014. Get used to it.”

Max Vrany, my understanding is that all Fox playoffs but the World Series will be moved to a rebranded Speed Network starting in either 2013 or 2014.

What is it with you guys and this retentionista drivel? TVD is a reasonably decent(by CW standards)long running show with an established fan base. What about that is supposed to rub off on B&B? B&B has been reduced to mediocre cable ratings in a matter of weeks. Relatively few people are watching it. That speaks for itself. It’s the quality of the show, not the time slot. Any sensible television junkie would have predicted this. It’ll probably be an anchor on the Cw’s schedule for the rest of this season and, if we’re lucky, get cancelled.

  • Charlie Sheen

CBS had a really good night, Thursdays have pretty much turned into their strongest night of the week from top to bottom.

X Factor has really slipped this season and I can’t figure out why. The scheduling because of baseball might attribute to it as the ratings were strong before the playoffs started on FOX but they had those same problems last season and the show was much higher. The CMAs might’ve cut into the audience this week and it wasn’t supposed to air on Wednesday. Let’s see if it grows in the coming weeks. The Voice will kill it next week.

Vampire Diaries is still strong for a show in its fourth season on that network. An Arrow and VD combo would be strong for The CW. I actually watched some of Beauty and the Beast and that show isn’t as bad as it sounds. I think the title throws people off. It’s actually a pretty nice underrated procedural, kind of reminds me of The Mentalist meets Teen Wolf.

I can’t wait to see the ABC Friday comedy ratings tomorrow. This should be interesting.

  • Steph

    @Jiji

People are watching Elementary because they like it. Why would you continuously watch a show that you’re not even interested in? It’s not because nothing else is on. I don’t buy that theory with any tv show.

  • Ali

    @Bill Gorman

I agree and given that Hart of Dixie is on its 2d season, They would most likely cancel Beauty and the beast if the two remain on the same level in terms of ratings. Who knows….

  • Clarke

The writing for last night’s B&TB was a *bit* better than usual, but the show is still boring and tedious to watch. The procedural cop show aspect of the show is so unnecessary and horribly executed. The supporting characters are annoying and one-dimensional. But the biggest problem with the show is this – it takes itself WAY too seriously. The show should look back at the 80′s version with Linda Hamilton and see how that show embraced it’s mythology and strangeness. B&TB needs to have more world-building and interesting villains (like Smallville).

If the show doesn’t fix these problems soon it will continue to tank in the ratings. Simple as that.

  • SPM

To think those morons at the CW canceled TSC for that FLOP

Yes TSC did reach 0.5 but not until its 19th episode before which it scored MANY 0.8 and 0.7 ratings.

  • John A

TVD is a bit more than ‘reasonably decent’ Lol

  • israelCD

    X-FACTOR is ruined ! What a mess FOX !
