    Thanks, @KaylaRae and @Chrisann D!

  • Kayla Rae

You are very welcome, I’m sure, @cb. Days is better off WITHOUT small-minded viewers like @Susan. She needs to cultivate some compassion to be sure.

  • I like this show

DOOL is still terrible. Oh there is a gay couple hooray…how ground breaking….DOOL is behind the times and you morons eat it up. They didn’t even have cell phones in salem a month ago hahahaha. Rafe and Sami looking for each other lol so glad i no longer waste my time watching that garbage.

  • Kayla Rae

Yeah, @I like this show, we are glad that you don’t watch. You are not worthy. Days is above and beyond you! Your comments don’t even make sense.

  • cb

But you still waste your time reading comments about it. And posting comments about it. Good thing you have all that free time from not watching the show, to go online and post about how you no longer waste your time watching it.

  • Kayla Rae

Yeah, @cb, and isn’t it funny how he somehow knew about Sami and Rafe looking for one another recently? Hmmmm…methinks he doth protest too much! And to infer that a gay storyline is passe! How funny! Would he say the same thing about any of the myriad straight love storylines occuring continually on all the soaps? He makes no sense.

  • Chrisann D

@I like this show, Days may not be breaking ground since gay storylines have been seen on soaps before but I think that anytime people see an “alternative” lifestyle portrayed as a postive thing is good. I am ashamed to admit the first time I saw a same sex couple kissing on tv years ago I was uncomfortable. It was the sitcome Ellen. I had always considered myself openminded so I was shocked and ashamed that I felt uncomfortable. But through the years I have come to understand that feeling “uncomfortable” was because being gay was foreign to me and I never took the time to understand a lifestyle that was not like mine. But I evolved. Hopefully they will keep the Will and Sonny story on Days so more people who feel like I felt (uncomfortable) will get a chance to take a look at themselves and be more accepting.

  • Kayla Rae

Thanks for your appreciated, thoughtful input, @Chrisann. It is definitely important to include the whole spectrum of love on tv, movies, etc.. To preclude one group from representation is unfair and unrealistic. Love is love no matter the race, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation. Whether it’s the gay or the straight lifestyle, love is beautiful and certainly worthy of portrayal on our beloved soaps. The narrow-minded especially need to have such brain/heart-expanding stories displayed before them. Go Days! DOOL is handling the story beautifully!

  • Jeff

Chrisann– as always love your comments. Hope you have been doing well.

I’ve been watching some Will/Sonny scenes on youtube. Very well done overall, and well, Will’s a hottie. That certainly doesn’t hurt.

As for GH, loving it, but have some suggestions. Some I have stated before.

    1. Bring back Bobbie and Lucas. Recast Dillon. Dillon now gay, and you have major legacy characters with major families in a hot relationship!

    2. Rather than have introduced Britt, Ellie, and Sabrina, what if any of the following occurred: one of them is the long lost daughter of Steve or Mac? They had one of them be Serena Baldwin, now a nurse, giving a reason for Scotty to swing by and more for Lucy to do when she shows up in town. Instead of Britt, they recasted Liz and Steve’s sister, Sarah, and Sarah, Liz, and Patrick get into love triangle. Instead of Britt, they bring over Cara from AMC, and she has David Hayward’s baby in tow giving him a reason to come by while she gets involved with Patrick. Why not have all of Anna’s lovers be in PC at one time! Or, instead of Britt, they bring over Dr. Maria from AMC. Imagine her and Sonny or AJ or Patrick or any man in PC.

    3. How about bring back Port Charles bad boy Dr. Chris Ramsey to mix it up with Olivia or Kate/Connie or Carly.

There are so many great possibilities from AMC, OLTL, and GH history rather than bring on 3 strangers who have no connection to anyone. Overall, good job of course, but people with connections and history are so much more valuable than strangers. Probably 1 out of every 10 new soap characters turns into a major role with staying power. Let’s give the audience a reason to love these characters right from the start.

Sneak peek @ the next few weeks of Days…

  • Kayla Rae

    Days sneak peek looks GREAT!!!

  • Chrisann D

Hey Jeff, Love reading your comments too. I have a questions unrelated to soaps but not to this site. Does everyone see the same advertisements on here? I get alot of political ads for Romney.I haven’t seen one Obama ad on here. I know on face book I can get rid of an ad I don’t like but I don’t believe I can on here. Anyway I can’t wait to vote and see what happens. Seems like a close race.

@cb, You seem to be so nice. Sorry for Susans comment…just know she is in the monority.(At least I hope she is)

  • TimsDale4ever

Come on guys — Susan’s comment wasn’t all that horrible. She has a right to her opinion as we all do. There are alot of people out there that are uncomfortable watching gay people make out on TV. My parents are 2 of them, and even though it doesn’t really bother me, I don’t think less of my parents because they happen to. It’s just a fact. I love the new prime time show THE NEW NORMAL, but everytime I run across that “DRU PAUL’s DRAG RACE” show makes me want to cringe. Those are some freakly looking guys — but I wish them no harm, and I don’t see where that makes me hateful or small minded or a bigot, but the cross dressers would want to hang me from the nearest tree for saying that. When did it become wrong to just express your opinion on something?

  • Sophie

When I watch Days, Sonny and Will are my favorite storyline. I love gay people, I’m not gay. But they, are thee nicest people. I have ton’s of gay friends! They are the BEST!!!!

  • jonboyelk

So pissed I’ve been without power for over a week and have missed all the good stuff on GH!!

  • MBmomof3

I agree with TimsDale4ever. I have no issue with the LGBT community or any individual who identifies with them. But frankly, many people do. That is why I actually like this storyline and identify with it. It is a much more realistic portrayal than “Oh, we are all so proud to be free to be you and me!” That is not how our culture and society works. However, in my lifetime (end of baby boomer gen) we have come a looooong way in civil/human rights and I hope it stays that way. Frankly, the outcome of the election could actually factor into progression or regression IMO.

That said, Susan is entitled to express her opinion. I found nothing “hateful” in the way she stated it either.

I’d like to add, while I find Chandler Massey adorable, likeable and a fine actor, in many scenes I’d like to wipe that smug look off his face. Not because he is gay, but because he is disrespectful, especially to his parents. They will never win Parent of the Year awards, but they are his parents. He is also a consenting adult and free to live the lifestyle he chooses whether they agree with it or not. That is what makes this compelling TV IMO.

  • MBmomof3

@jonboyelk, I know you’ve been without power, but if you can get to ABC.com you can see a weeks worth of GH episodes to try and catch up. Not to rub it in, but GH HAS BEEN AWESOME!

  • MBmomof3

Correction, I meant “Will’s” smug face. I have no idea, nor do I care if Chandler Massey is gay.

Posted November 3, 2012 ” but this whole gay thing with two men kissing and having sex is beyond ridiculous”
” have watched Days for at least 50 something years, always has been my favorite, but this whole gay thing with two men kissing and having sex is beyond ridiculous. If thats what people want, thats fine, but keep it private, I and many many of my friends that have watched Days will no longer tune in. We are being expected to accept such behavior as normal, its not

I actually do find some of what Susan said hateful. According to her “its ridiculous and not”normal” And yes she is entitled to her opinon but she put her opinon out there and others are entitled to comment on it. TimsDale, My mother would have been uncomfortable with the kissing scenes also. While I loved my mother I don’t think her opinon on gay or racial issues were right. In fact sometimes I thought they were hateful. I would have conversations with her about it too and tell her why I thought she had predudices. Just saying she wasn’t a bad horrible person, in fact just the opposite. Toward the end of her life she was so much more accepting of others. I was very proud of her.

  • TimsDale4ever

Y&R continues it’s slide downward — not that I’m shocked or anything. lol, last week was a snooze fest all week long. Maybe I’m just too impatient with the new team as they are “cleaning” up old stories. Jill walked back in at the end of Friday and I’m looking forward to what the new head honchos have in store for her as that will be a completely new story for them because she didn’t really have one when she left last spring or summer. This could be the first real test of what they can do.

The CBS shows are both down in the two demos here for the week and this time last year. When is someone at CBS going to wake up?
