Finalists Perform LIVE Wednesday, November 7

This week, One Direction – the global sensation that rose to fame on the U.K. version of “The X Factor” – will take the stage to perform two songs, “Live While We’re Young” and “Little Things,” on THE X FACTOR’s first LIVE results show of the season, Thursday, Nov. 8 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), on FOX.

“Having come from the U.K. ‘X Factor,’ we can’t wait to perform on the U.S. stage – it’s going to be a great night!” said group member Zayn Malik.

“We're really excited to be on the American ‘X Factor,’” added fellow member Niall Horan. “It'll be the first time we've performed in front of ‘Uncle Si’ since we were on the U.K. ‘X Factor.’ So, hopefully, we'll make him proud!”

One Direction – Horan, Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson – were discovered on the U.K.’s “The X Factor” in 2010. The band quickly gained a following to become one of the competition’s all-time most popular acts, finishing in the final three and garnering a gigantic and loyal fanbase along the way. In March 2012, One Direction’s debut album, “Up All Night,” made U.S. history, as it was the first time a U.K. group’s debut album entered the U.S. Billboard 200 chart at No. 1. The band has sold over 12 million records worldwide. On Nov. 13, One Direction will release its sophomore album, “Take Me Home,” which includes the No. 1 single, “Live While We’re Young.”

Globally, artists discovered by “The X Factor” format have sold more than 120 million records worldwide, including 110 No. 1, 270 Top 10 and 501 Top 50 releases. Local versions of “The X Factor” are now commissioned in more than 41 territories and the format has won numerous accolades worldwide, including three BAFTA’s, numerous NTA’s, as well as the coveted Rose d’Or. The U.S. version of THE X FACTOR airs in 166 countries.

On Wednesday, Nov. 7 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), THE X FACTOR heats up as the finalists, with the help of their mentors, take the stage once again. But this time, it will be up to America, as well as the judges, to decide who moves forward in the competition.  Immediately after Wednesday’s performance show, fans will be able to vote via 1) Verizon Touch Voting on The Xtra Factor App on Verizon Android devices; 2) toll-free calling; 3) text messaging for Verizon Wireless customers; and 4) online at Fans with valid Facebook accounts can also vote at

On Thursday, Nov. 8 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), after One Direction’s performances, hosts Khloé Kardashian Odom and Mario Lopez will reveal the results of America’s votes.

    Yeah, whatever.

  • Samuel

Considering they pretty much single-handedly got the VMA’s this year’s ratings, this isn’t the worst idea Simon has had. I’m also sure they’ll be on the finale.

  • PeterFr

Simon Cowell should bring the far more popular British band Take That to X Factor instead. They simply owned the Olympics Closing Ceremony with “Rule the World”. Just baffling why USA radio stations won’t play their stuff.

  • Nick

Lol Maroon 5 is gonna crush these little wannabe brats. Haha Fox. Keep on trying!

  • Samuel

@Nick, I have to disagree. I think One Direction will draw plenty more viewers. Now, The Voice will still win by a mile, but very few people are going to tune in for Maroon 5 that wouldn’t usually watch to see Adam.

  • WoWza

X Factor is renewed already. Get over it.

Its popular for the Teen cround – probably 21 and udner coud… maybe 25 and under at best… its like MTV… FOX is like MTV these days of networks

Well JB didn’t do all that much for XF, so maybe Baybe Bieber times five?

  • peter

They certainly will bring in viewers but not that many to beat CBS at 8

Lol! Nobody cares if it’s renewed. Everyone here even wishes it’d be cancelled because of its humiliating ratings.

I bet it won’t help the show even if One Direction is on it. Justin Bieber failed at the height of Flop Factor’s decent ratings and then now?

Miracles won’t happen for this show. Trust me. :)

    Stop being pathetic.

    I agree with you 101%!!!

It’s funny how the press release focused on social media but NEVER made mention of its TV ratings!!! :)

Oh well, we all know why!!!

It bombed. Britney’s USELESS so they’re inviting guests that can possibly boost the ratings. They should let her return half of her pay check.

In addition, she sounds like a robot with an automatic answer when she comments. I guess they need to hire a scriptwriter for her so she’ll sound intelligent and semi-original. I used to be a hug fan. Not anymore. She’s shaming herself and also her fans.

Why people just do’t stop saying mean things about X Factor ?! I love it ! STOP CRITCISING !!!!!

  • DC

    Emblem 3!

  • Nick

I disagree. Maroon 5 is a much bigger act than One Direction. Their more general public, all audiences than OD is. Regardless, the point was that The Voice will be crushing Flop Factor Wednesday and Thursday. Poor FOX.

  • Nick

I only comment on X factor because i have no life.

    Its a bit sad actually.
