Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

  • Kaylie

    Come on Fox!!! We can do it!! Good for OUAT though.

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ Joel

    Have to admit I’m starting to agree here. The only segment that mildly kept my interest was inside the giant’s castle. The entire Emma in Storybrooke line was a snoozefest.

  • ZmaX

    @meah

    Total viewers doesn’t matter, but what is important is the 18-49 age demo which Revenge is doing well in.

  • Michael

    Jennifer Jason Leigh is terrible on Revenge.

  • Mickey

    Happy for OUAT, it deserves the big ratings.

    I was worried with so many storylines, but they are juggling them all without dropping a beat. And all of them are compelling. Such great characters.

    I’m not worried about Revenge. Last week it had 2.7, this week it’s 2.6. Either way, it’s still good. And it really is ramping up, can’t wait to see how Emily deals with Mason ferreting out her secret.

  • Mrs Florrick

    The Good Wife….NO!! Series low? :( Hope it gets adjusted up in the finals!

  • POIFanatic

    @HB:

    “Oh Com’on Revenge hasn’t stoop to TVD’s level. Its far above it! Revenge has story lines about characters not 4-5 triangles stuck at one place with no storyline.”

    Seriously! WTH! I’ll never stoop to trashing another show like Revenge, but TVD has so many amazing simultaneous storylines (and I dislike the love triangle btw, its just one part of the grander story). Its one season can fill up 3-5 seasons on any other show. Its a brilliant show which has its groan-worthy moments.

  • Mickey

    @Michael

    Jennifer Jason Leigh is terrible on Revenge.

    She’s playing a character so deranged she tried to drown her baby daughter. She does make me uncomfortable, but that’s the point. I think JJL is playing a mentally unbalanced mother really well.

  • Bob

    Yes for Revenge!!! The best show on TV. I did watch the first episode of Scandal which was good, but then watched the next and didn’t find it all that good. Perhaps Scandal should have been a movie of the week instead.

  • ClamCam

    @Meah…you’re mixing everything!! First, total numbers don’t care at all in broadcast TV…2nd…Scandal is wasting the best lead in possible in ABC, and third, who cares if Kerry Washington is black?? Support our own?? You should support also Last Resort (andre braugher), Happy Endings (Wayans), GA (Chandra Wilson), Arrow (the sidekick..) Oh Gosh…What a nonsense!!

  • Sherri

    I just don’t understand why anyone isn’t watching 666, it is so good, I wish they would move it, it’s like they put in on Sunday at 10 expecting it to fail!

  • HB

    @Mickey

    I agree. She is playing the “creepy-psycho” mother extremely well!

  • JONNYSBRO

    Does anyone still think Revenge is a lock for a third season? Its the the fourth highest rated ABC show and does huge in response/buzz. Its doing same numbers as last season. Anyone agree that Recvenge is guaranteed a third seaosn or you think its up in the air?

  • K

    The Steelers delivered the ratings again. That, and the enjoyable Cowboys/Falcons game, no wonder most of the other shows were down.

  • Bookworm

    I don’t why know ABC just won’t do a mercy killing for 666 Park Ave, I mean it’s on life support, just take it off already.

    Max, I love your fanning for Scandal but Revenge is doing pretty good. I don’t know how it competes with other ABC 9pm shows but it is doing great behind OUAT. I know it has been dropping and I watched the episode this week and I think the season is going to be a slightly boring one, though I have faith that it will be back and it won’t go below a 2.2 when it all comes down to it. I do think the show is over hyped; the storyline is not as good as I think it should be.

    So just relax with the hate—leave that to others.

  • Sean

    Fox is really killling all of their shows with their inability to schedule! Love OUAT and Revenge. Nice ratings for.both but hope Revenge adjusts up in the finals!

  • kill00

    666PA was fantastic last night i just hope that it has a good series ending after 15 episodes orderd

  • PMR

    I agree DENY-MAX is pathetic. Revenge is a huge hit for ABC as is OUAT (although I don’t watch it). Scandal never should have been renewed. That’s a terrible show. 666 Park Avenue gets better every week. I think they titled the show wrong. Too many bible thumpers refused to watch just because of the shows name. Sadly it will be cancelled, because it has great writing and actors. Since the hurricane has ruined many of the sets that should seal its fate. As for The Good Wife and The Mentalist–those two shows are better than a sleeping pill for insomnia.

  • Hmm

    @ Sherri

    Actually, Sunday’s is one of ABC’s best nights. It could not get much of a better lead in (expect for Greys or MF).

  • frodo

    Yeah my bad left last week’s rating out, it goes, 3.2, 2.6, 2.6, 2.8, 2.7, 2.6 = 2.75

    The last 6 episodes of last season were 2.3, 2.1, 2.1, 2.2, 2.0, 2.4 = 2.18

    And the first 6 episodes of season 1 were 3.3, 2.7, 2.4, 2.7, 2.5, 2.7 = 2.72

    While most shows on all the networks have decreased, Revenge has increase in both demo and viewers.

    Its the number 4 show on ABC after Modern Family, Grey’s Anatomy, and Once Upon a Time last year at this time it was the number 9 ranked show on the network. All in all Revenge is doing great for ABC and is not going anywhere soon, next week it will be back to 2.7 or 2.8 and it will stay between the 2.5 and 3.0 demo till the end of the season.
