  • Rick

Very respectable. Glad she is still growing.

  • Christian

I’m not surprised Ricki is a big flop. Her 90s talk show was so successful because people couldn’t look away from the trainwrecks and circus freaks. This new “mature” Ricki is boring and dry.

  • Sam

Looks like Ricki gained a little from the last press release anyway. She’s now ahead of Steve Probst in viewers and target demo. Hopefully, she will get back to some of her 90s charm.

Anyways, if Katie and Steve both continue on next year, Steve might beat her once he gets a time slot upgrade in many places. He’s already close enough in to her in the target demo.

  • Max

Come on People, watch Probst!! He has such a great show!

  • Dontryl Alexander

One word to describe katie… BORING!

  • MBmomof3

    zzzzzzz….

  • me

Probst did an hour – the WHOLE hour – with Lisa Welchel from Facts of Life and Survivor. That’s what you consider a great show? Good luck to you.

  • Robbee65

Why do all these people have talk shows? Jeff Probst,REALLY?

  • Mike

Why do half the people in the entertainment industry have jobs? PERIOD.

Look at soaps where you have some of the least talented people hired as writers and producers. Or folks hired on their looks alone. They couldn’t even act themselves out of a plastic bag.

Then you have people like Honey Boo Boo getting shows.

Those bullies and screwballs that get shows like The REal Housewives or Dance Moms. Or people like some of the weirdos that get 15 minutes of fame on shows like Big Brother.

Or folks like Bill Maher and Rush Limbaugh who get shows to make fun of others and call others names and incite hatred.

Personally I would rather watch 6 hours of Jeff Probst than 5 minutes of Rush Limbaugh or Bill Maher or The REal Housewives or Honey Boo Boo or 3 (GH, Y&R, Days) of the 4 soap operas.

    To each his own.

  • Melanie

@Mike, I so agree with you, except I must admit I am a huge fan of the Real Housewives franchise and Big Brother, LOL. I personally think they are so much more entertaining than the boring and repetitive soap operas with the same ole, uncreative, uninspiring and predictable storylines they put out everyday. I find it funny than some just can’t give Katie her respect and accept that her show is doing well in spite of some of these rabid GH or soap opera fanatics that were wanting it to fail. I don’t watch her everyday because I am at work, but I have always liked her.

  • Mike

Melanie, I am a big fan of many of the shows I mentioned too esp. Big Brother at times. But I for one will never act like they are high drama and going to win any awards.

To hear some of these fans esp. soap opera fans, they never deserve to get cancelled and they deserve every award out there. Some of them really need to get a reality check. We all lose shows everyday. And soaps are no better than any other genre to have shows cancelled.

I watch soaps but esp. in the last 10 years they have definitely lost a lot of what made them special and entertaining. There are many days that I can’t even finish aan episode they are so boring or out there.

  • moshane58

To each his own.But talkers are the same to.Someone promoting there movie, book, cooking, lifestyle etc.Starts in the morning and they go from show to show.Wow how many times do you need to watch that.I really don’t believe ABC will atie to other countries like they did the soaps.ABC an brag abou her ratings but her average veiwer is 60 by Neilsen.Geez that gets all the other shows cancelled. Its funny its great for Katie but its not for the soaps. They also don’t count soapnet on the ratings plus the other countries who love Americn soaps. But lets not talk about that.We know soaps where cancelled on ABC because Anne Sweeney said she does not want any scripted shows on daytime and has planned this from her first day at Disney.didn’t like Katie before this show. She really needs to get over herself. She blamed CBS for her failed ratings on the evening news.Plane and simple people didn’t care to watch her.Her ego is to much for me to watch.didn’t watcch the Today Show because do not like her.It bwetter now she’s gone.Hated to see Mereith leave. She was the best thing for that show. But to sit and watch non stop talk and cooking is not my cup of tea.To eah there own.I like soaps. Its a break from everyday grin and its not reruns of the same thing going on all talk shows.I get my fill of it the first hour of the Today show. Then off I go finding something that isn’t going to be people sitting in a chair just talking about whatever there promoting.JMO

  • cottle

I don’t believe anything Nielsen says. This isn’t true!!!! Truth is ABC is last in all daytime. When GH goes off the air I will just not watch ABC at all.

  • moshane58

GH is the only time I turn on ABC now to.can’t stand that theif Mario.Still like to know why he’s on Tv wirh all these lawsuits he’s had to pay off to his employees.People should respect waitors. Its a hard, low paying job and a millionaire skimming there tips, allowing sexual harrsement, refuse to pay overtime, sick days and vacation days.It took lawsuit for the employers of Mario to get there fair pay.He caters only to the rich in the real world.Katie is a fake. The Veiw has went down hill since Meredith lefted.Kelly liked her on All My Children but now she bragsall the time and isn’t the person we knew on the soaps.Daytime just plan sucks.I have 2 cooking shows and 4 talkers and 4 and half hours of local news.Geez why turn it on anymore.

  • primetimeblabber

don’t care, her show is not as good as ABC makes it out to be, she is seeing the same ratings as The Revolution and GAA, and they both ended up cancelled….Hatie needs to go away, true tv watchers don’t want her, she is still causing erosion for the primetime shows, they are still seeing low ratings, bring back the soaps….and they will increase in ratings.

  • Troy Turner

Melanie-sorry to burst your bubble-but Katie isn’t doing well at all-no matter what the ratings say, She is still losing numbers from WHATEVER her leadin might be, plus she is failing in comparison to the rollout she was given as “the next Oprah”. If she is such a success, why is Jeff Zucker looking to leave? Face it, ABC Domestic is losing their shirt on this deal, but noone has the guts to admit it. I may be one of those “rabid” GH fans, but I know BS when I smell it…

  • moshane58

There only comparing her to the new talk shows. She’s not even broke the top 30 syndiation shows.Reruns of The Big Bang Theory is beating her.Oh forgot this is what Neilsen says.None of my locals even have her.they didn’t think she was worth what she demanded.HEE HEE…

  • Nancy M

The question is who really cares about more talk shows? OMG people what is wrong with you. I know there is nothing else on tv. This is just more crap. The worst actually because her subject matter is something that is beyond dumb. She even had a show about hair. Wake up this is more crap that is shoved down our throats.

  • Ralph Hahn

Except for the cable news shows, there is nothing but crap (NBC) on daytime TV. You can still catch Anderson Cooper giggle like a little girl on his CNN show if you miss him in daytime.

  • Jill Sharpless

Wow!!! We’re getting excited because Katie got a 1.9 rating this week.
That’s a terrible number! Now tell us what the ratings were for Dr. Phil, Kelly and Michael, Ellen, Judge Judy for the same week. Probably anywhere from a 3.0 to a 4.0 rating for each of them. And I also hear that the local stations which depend on getting a good lead in from Katie’s show are extremely disgruntled. Its not the quality show that they were told they were getting over the summer. I looked at the list of people that are going to be on her show this week and its the same people that Anderson had on his daytime show last year. Dr. Sanja Gupta from CNN. John Edwards the Medium. Yeah, its all crap. BTW, who wrote the above article? Her mother?
Agree with Troy Turner. It will eventually come out that ABC is losing their shirt on this one.
