Nikita is moving back to its old stomping grounds at 8pm on Fridays beginning November 30 and Arrow repeats will air at 9pm according to The Futon Critic.   This Friday, Nov. 9, Nikita will still air at 9pm (America's Next Top Model airs at 8pm on Nov. 9 and from 8p-10p for its season finale on Nov. 16). After this Friday, Nikita will take the following two Fridays off before returning on November 30.  The Nikita/repeat Arrow pairing will run until at least January 18 excluding  Nov. 23, Dec. 14 and Dec. 21 where holiday specials are scheduled.

Hahahahahahahahhahah it wants to compete with ABC’s TGIF Block SMH …..The CW isn’t slick by any means … -____-

  • getmilk

YES! The CW is trying. I’ll give you that. I hope it’ll score 0.5 or more with this change. Yes, I’m a bit optimistic.

  • Networkman

This is a great decision for CW. It needed to be moved away from Grimm, Fringe and CSI:NY. Hopefully the ratings will grow. If it is able to garner .5 on a Friday Night, this show will be a keeper for CW. The network has holes to fill with Gossip Girls, 90210, Emily Owens and Beauty & The Beast under performing. Also, ANTM will now be a Summer Show. Beauty & The Beast should be placed on Friday @9pm next year. If it can maintain similar numbers then it will also be a keeper for the network.

nikita will have many breaks and thats not good.

Are people forgetting (or ignorant of) the Friday factor? A .3 on a Friday is about the same as a .5 on Mon-Thurs, as far as the CW is concerned.

No way, however, will this show get a .5 on a Friday, Networkman.

  • Andrea

Also, if the CW goes ahead with the back 9, no way does this show not get a 4th season for syndication purposes.

Whether those episodes appear on the fall schedule is another matter. Maybe a special DVD package?

YES! I think it has the same target audience as Fringe and Grimm. I think this will help add 0.1/0.2 to its ratings.

Like shuffling deck chairs on board the Titanic…

I doubt it will help much, I think it will still hover around a 0.3 for the rest of the season. I can see Arrow doing 0.6’s at 9pm which is good.

I like to think getting rid of TOP MODEL as a lead-in can only help. Does Tyra have no more pride or what? Looking at the numbers of TOP MODEL is halarious. Kind like the ever so changing judging panel. What a JOKE the panel is now! LOL

I can only hope for Nikita and I wont make excuses like the rest of the FANS. FACT IS nobody is watching it but given the fact that BATB is such a failure I would slate it 9pm Thursday again for maybe 4 weeks until Thursday @ 9pm is replaced with something else. IT COULD help build a BIT of interested again. AT THE VERY LEAST if this was done Im sure it could manage .5 on Fridays again. IT APPEARS the CW is invested in it so why not help it a bit more. JUST A THOUGHT

They’re clearly desperate to save the floundering “Nikita,” but with all due respect if I watch “Arrow” on Wednesday’s, I won’t be interested in the reruns of it again on Friday’s. But in any case, the move for “Arrow” might pick “Arrow” up a few new fans, but I doubt it will help “Nikita.” People who were watching “Nikita” at 8 p.m. surely would have watched it when it moved to 9 p.m., if they were really interested.

I never knew it was on another night.

  • tscchope

Smacks of desperation. Presages a move of Arrow to Fridays – recognition of another failed show.

@Martine “No one wants to watch the skinny skank jump around and show off her panties.”

wrong I do very much so!!!!

Emily Owens is the best show The CW premiered this year so I hope they give it a chance. Arrow is so freaking bland and there’s not one character to care about and Beauty and the Beast is a horribly written mess. I heard Cult is even worse and I don’t have high hopes for Carrie Diaries so it looks like Mark Pedowitz is gonna have to go back to the drawing board and find something remotely decent to put on the schedule!

  • jessica

The thought of having to expand the demographic rating to three digits just so Nikita isn’t a 0.0 is the only thing about the show that is interesting me these days.

  • Ike

I wonder if the affiliates demanded this move. The poor ratings can’t be helping with the lead-ins for the bigger affiliates’ 10 p.m. (ET/PT) news.

I’m glad to see Nikita won’t be going up against Fringe and Grimm any more, but still, I don’t imagine that this will help the ratings very much. Pre-empting the show again and again can’t help either, but that strategy was once very common in sweeps periods (the Nov. 16 pre-emption) and during the holiday season (Dec. 14 and 21), so it’s not very surprising.

I still enjoy this show, though it’s not as good as it was in the first two seasons. If anybody wants to see a really well-plotted, well-written action show with cool fight scenes, check out the first two seasons on DVD or Netflix or whatever. Some of the acting is questionable, but what do you want from your action shows, Shakespeare? ;)

Their finally going to correct this huge mistake. I think Nikita was effected by the Grimm and Fringe audiences.

The question I have is will The CW move The Cult behind Arrow and move Supernatural back to Fridays?

    @ Christian

How about a good sci-fi program like SYFY used to show?

    what a mess
