Supernatural Also Matches Season High in Adults 18-49;

Scores Second Most Watched Telecast of the Season

November 8, 2012 (Burbank, CA) – Arrow keeps on hitting the bull’s-eye for The CW.  Last night was Arrow’s most watched (3.75M) episode since the series premiere on October 10, and matched its season best among adults 18-49 (1.3/4) and adults 18-34 (1.1/3) according to national Live Plus Same Day Nielsen ratings for Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012.   Arrow also matched its second best performance in women 18-34 (1.1/3).

Week-to-week, ARROW was up across the board in all key demos: up 23% in total viewers, up 30% in adults 18-49, up 57% in adults 18-34, and up 38% in women 18-34.

Paired with ARROW on The CW’s dramatically improved Wednesday night, Supernatural climbed to match its season high in adults 18-49 (1.0/2) and its second most watched episode (2.3M) of the season.  Supernatural was just shy of its season high in adults 18-34 (0.9/3).

Supernatural saw big gains over last week, up 30% in total viewers, 29% in adults 18-34 and 25% in adults 18-49.

Both ARROW and Supernatural continue to see dramatic increases over its Live+SD ratings once additional DVR data is factored in.  On average with Live+7 day ratings, ARROW posts a 25% increase in total viewers over its overnight Live+SD ratings, and typically jumps 33% in adults 18-34 and 30% in adults 18-49.  SUPERNATURAL also sees sizable gains with its Live+7 performance, improving 41% in total viewers above its Live+SD overnights, 46% in adults 18-34 and 52% in adults 18-49.

    Go arrow!! Such a great show. Hope it goes over 4 million again

  • spike

    wow its almost matching the WB viewers from back in the day. really good show and im amazed by the production value considering its on the CW, remember those costumes of the bad guys on Smallville? jeeze, this is like watching a Nolan Movie in comparison

  • Cros

    YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS

    The race is on.

    Too bad next week’s episode isnt so promosing, but episode 7 with the huntress is gonna be cooooooool.

    More deathstroke!!!

  • Ram510

    I would’ve thought this show skews male?

  • Justin121

    Arrow + Cult Vs Beauty & Beast + Carrie Diaries + Emily Owens

    Should prove which way the CW should start leaning…

  • Val

    Love Supernatural this season and I need to catch up on Arrow! I am very happy for both shows. the network needs something to brag about and these two shows + Vampire Diaries are great news among a bunch of ratings failures.

  • Serial Rocker

    Those are some impressive year on year gains for Supernatural! Not bad at all for a show in its eighth season! Okay, There’s the benefit of the move from Friday to Wednesday to consider, but the fact remains that there are a lot more people willing to watch it this season than there were last year. Can’t be considered a bad thing!

  • SueP

    The Arrow/Supernatural pairing was the best thing for both shows. Supernatural got an uptick in live ratings and the sci-fi fans have an event night with the CW with Arrow. Mark P. and the CW must be pleased with the results.

    @RAM510

    While the show is much more male oriented, the CW focuses on advertising to Women 18-34. Just like TNT focuses on adults 25-54.

    @spike

    TVD used to get 3.5-4 million viewers too and so did smallville and i think ANTM too im not sure. so this type of viewers isnt new to the CW

  • Christian

    The comic fanboys are what’s keeping this show afloat because it’s as dull as dishwater.

  • dantas

    @Robin,

    OTH also.

  • RG-X

    ARROW is a BULLSEYE Hit! I’m addicted!

    “Too bad next week’s episode isnt so promosing, but episode 7 with the huntress is gonna be cooooooool.”

    Next week looks promising to me. If you watch the extended promo, pay attention to Thea.. it seems like she followed Oliver and finds out his hiding place.. If that really happens next episode, it’s gonna be another awesome episode imo.

  • POI

    HOPE ARROW GOES UP MORE AND MORE, THE SHOW DESERVES IT.

  • POI

    @Cros

    next weeks episode has the royal flush gang and i think they will be awesome as from the promo it reminds me of the joker scene in the dark knight when he steal a bank it looks awesome and im excited to watch the episode, can’t wait for next week.

    @ Spike The viewers for a majority of shows on the WB in its prime years hovered around the 4 mil mark, however, A lot of shows succeeded into the 5-7 million range (7th Heaven, Smallville, Charmed premiered to almost 8 million viewers) and on special episodes SV almost hit 10 mil and 7th Heaven hit almost 12 mil plus after it was named on TV Guides the best tv show you are not watching around 1998/1999.

    Also I agree with spike it would be nice for a lot of shows to pull around 4 mil viewers (we all know One Tree Hill, antm, sv, and other shows including vd have in its prime) . The CW brand has relied on VD as really the only show to pull over a 1.0 and Supernatural on Fridays to pull a 0.8 outside of that the CW has been underrated dating back to the end of the 2009-2010 season when 90210 and gossip girl were continuously hitting mid 1 million viewers, and other shows such as hellcats and Nikita did not live up to its premiere. I hope CW gets a lot more shows on the network to help pull it out of the cellar to atleast beat univision. It has been nice to watch VD getting 3rd/4th on thursdays and arrow/supernatural making wednesday nights must C tv.

  • Felipe Nikita

    Arrow is a great show, but, not as great as Nikita. Nikita deservs at least a 0,7 on fridays, but that’s not happenning D:

  • Gus

    Arrow fits in well on the CW. Perhaps they should bring in another superhero show to fit into next fall’s schedule. Like a remake of The Flash maybe? And Felipe Nikita, Arrow is better than Nikita. Way better.
