@Samm
Yeah the ending is my favorite as well
@Letmethink “Mark, here I go being nosey again. But you work nights and post all day. How do you do it? You don’t have to answer–I know I am being nosey—- but seriously how in the heck do you do it???”
No, I’m retired. Also, there are two Marks that post on this site – Mark and Mark2. I’m Mark2.
From time to time, I’ve considered posting video from Rachel’s opening monologue to show people what they’re missing. Let me inform you that last night was TYPICAL of the offerings of Dr. Maddow. A bit exceptional considering the impetus behind it, but just about any weeknight at 9:00, you can expect this level of excellence on MSNBC (Ezra Klein and Chris Hayes are no slouches either). Oh, kudos to Lawrence O’Donnell for playing Beethoven’s exuberant Seventh Symphony during the first minutes of HIS show. Classy…literally.
In case you didn’t see my post yesterday about the poll accuracies, here it is:
Most Accurate Polls (this doesn’t inlude Prediction Models like Nate Silver and RCP which were even more accurate)
1. PPP (D)
1. Daily Kos
3. YouGov
4. Ipsos/Reuters*
5. Purple Strategies
6. NBC/WSJ
6. CBS/NYT
6. YouGov/Economist
9. UPI/CVOTER
10. IBD/TIPP
11. Angus-Reid*
12. ABC/WP*
13. Pew Research*
13. Hartford Courant/UConn*
15. CNN/ORC
15. Monmouth/SurveyUSA
15. Politico/GWU/Battleground
15. FOX News
15. Washington Times/JZ Analytics
15. Newsmax/JZ Analytics
15. American Research Group
15. Gravis Marketing
23. Democracy Corps (D)*
24. Rasmussen
24. Gallup
26. NPR
27. National Journal*
28. AP/GfK
Rasmussen, Gallup, and AP have lost all credibility when it comes to polls.
-Rasmussen only got 2 out of 8 swing states correct.
-Gallup had Romney up by 7 at one point…way off.
-AP was the same poll that said Romney had pulled even with Obama with the Women vote. Boy, wre they wrong.
It will be interesting to see where the rating numbers go back down to. Fiscal Cliff may help keep the ratings up. It was nice of the Greeks to behave themselve during the weeks up to the elections but now it apears they would like some attention.
Weather on the east coast may stay in the News since most of the News outlets are in NYC but that may get stale. I hope that those of you on the east coast are getting the things you need. Looks like there are areas that are in real bad shape.
Earnings have been on the decline that may be confirming.
New jobless claims came in at 355,000 which was below the 370,000 est. some good news but not good enough to keep the market from falling. Next weeks numbers may be up because of the weather on the east coast.
The St Louis Fed has a report that indicates that there may be a recession on the horizon.
@Laurence Glavin
I totally agree with you. I was able to change the minds of my sister and one of my brothers to voting Democrat by sending them Rachel Maddow and Jon Stewart clips. It took over a year but it was well worth it.
There’s a saying about the effects of Congressional redistricting post-Census: people USED to elect their Representatives; now their Representatives select THEIR voters.
Msnbc smashed fox in the key demo day and night..i loved rachels opening commetary .lawrence crushed poor greta in the key demo and overall veiwership..

Why would anyone with a brain watch FOX?They are not a news network. They are a comedy show. They and the GOP are finished.
You have that backwards….Fox has TWO…count them TWO commentators…Bill O’reilly and Hannity…MSNBC is ALL commentators…there is no REAL news on MSNBC only opinionated hosts, who 99% of the time get it wrong…
I think msnbc is gonna have a big bounce in 2013
the lefties are crowing….for now…but keep in mind…now that Obumbles has been re-elected, he can’t blame Bush anymore…he can’t blame anyone for his failures but himself…lol….and get used to 12% unemployment for the next four years…remember, Obumbles modelled his green energy policies on Spain, and they run 25% unemployment….
@Sam “My favorite part is from 12:52, there is a lot of wisdom in what she says.”
That’s my favorite part as well. Of course I also like when she talks about polls and math at 8:25.
@Mark2 No, I’m retired. Also, there are two Marks that post on this site – Mark and Mark2. I’m Mark2.
Yes, I thought you had said that you were retired. Mark has been on here most of the day.
@Letmethink
I work a job that is shift work I sometimes can get break to type stuff like now. Currently I am on a evening shift
In general if you get shorter posts from me chances are I am working, since I don’t have much time to write long posts. Long posts mean I am at home or on midnight shift
Stan t…by the end of obamas presidendy..he will be the ,F,D,R of the 21 century…one one of the greatest democrat presidents ever…now put down the crying towl.and..get with the program.america made its statement clear
@Stan “Fox has TWO…count them TWO commentators…Bill O’reilly and Hannity”
Really, I mean really??? How about the 4 Conservative commentators that spew their hate on ‘The Five’, how about the 3 knucklehead conservatives who try and dumb down America on the Fox & Friends, how about Megyn Kelly who always takes the side of Republicans, how about Greta who pushes the Fox News propaganda, how about conservative Mike Huckabee who pushes his personal religious agenda and the Fox propaganda, how about conservative Neil Cavuto who pushes his personal opinions as a commentator?
Btw stan..all the name calling is so elementry..grow up already
@Mark–you are so nice to respond–really it is none of my business.
MSNBC up the last two days, the stock market DOWN over 430 points the last two days! Great trade off dont ya think?????
