Hmm…someone here is in a full blowout.

I’ve been through this with a tornado in 2001 about this time of year. It was darn cold for 7 days without power. Because there are so many people affected now , helping them is a long time process.

    NY Post
Storm survivors from the Rockaways to Red Hook and Staten Island endured frigid temperatures in blacked-out homes last night with no heat — choosing not to evacuate and risk break-ins and looting.

Temperatures hovered around the freezing mark through the night, with wind chills in the teens.

I’m just trying to get blankets to stay warm,” said Ileen Carrillo, 35, who was in her 10th day without electricity or heat. “We keep the pilot stove on, which is dangerous, and we moved the couches together for body heat.”

Rockaway residents without heat or power stood out in the cold yesterday waiting for volunteers to dole out flashlights, batteries, diapers and baby formula

Wind industries lay off hundreds of workers

Minnesota Public Radio November 6, 2012

MOORHEAD, Minn. — Hundreds of workers in our region are losing their jobs as wind turbine manufacturers cut production.

More than 500 workers are losing their jobs in the Red River Valley. By the end of November, 345 workers who make wind turbine blades at a Grand Forks, N.D. factory will be out of work.

Is Karl Rove still in meltdown mode?

Much like Honey Boo Boo, the ignorance on Fox News is just too appealing to not turn down

  • Reader

I have never commented on this site but I do read the comments quite regularly, mostly the cable news section because I find it so interesting to read comments from people with so much hatred and ignorance in their hearts and minds. I am an avid cable news watcher and watch every network just about everyday. Reading what people post, on both sides of the political spectrum, makes my truly understand what is wrong with this country, How is it possible that at the same time both Rachel and Sean are morons and speakers of the truth, depending on who you like to read and agree with here. The truth is that everyone has their own political ideas and personal feelings about issues and matters of this country, and just because you lean left doesn’t mean you are a gov’t dependent loon, and just because you lean right doesn’t make you a right wing racist, but to read the comments here, that is what you would think. It makes me understand why the country is so far divided and might never solve its problems if the people who post here now represent the majority of the country. Everyone needs to calm down, open their hearts and minds to different views and ideas without yelling, putting down someone, or most importantly telling some to stfu as a recent post did. I will probably never post again, but needed to get this off my chest.
    Thank You

  • Mark2

Laura Ingraham in for O’Reilly. Karl Rove went into hiding and now O’Reilly–What’s going on?!

  • d.d.

    Reader

Well said, &, a needed reminder to all to respect other posters. Having differing views are fine, but name calling , & , put downs are not. Is this how we would treat our neighbors ?

    ———–

    Night all.

  • Bobbyv

    Hi Reader,

I agree, but it is very easy to be outrageous from a keyboard. I think some people just have fun with their postings while others are very insecure and need to name-call. I personally come here to see the different viewpoints. Much like life, I think very few people’s minds are actually changed.

  • Mark2

@Robbie “As far as Mark 2 and Sam go, you have so much hate in your hearts that I literally feel sorry for you. Instead of castigating you guys like others would I will pray for you!”

Robbie, I don’t hate anybody. Hate is the wrong word. I think loathe is probably a better word, lol.

  • TheBoss1

@Mark2 … Rachel Maddow’s breakdown of the election results was PHENOMENAL. Everyone, particularly RIGHTIES, need to watch it.

I do believe that the Fox News pundits being so WRONG in their election predictions have hurt their credibility. I mean, they were ALL WRONG. All of them. WRONG. Absolutely WRONG. Did I say WRONG? I thought so. WRONG.

    And Rachel Maddow nailed it.

Oh, by the way, GREAT DAY for MSNBC. I know it has to incense the Right. Not only do they lose the presidential election, get absolutely creamed in the Senate, lose the overall vote totals in the House races (although they kept House control due to Republican gerrymandering in 2010), but now the Right’s BELOVED news channel, Fox News, finishes SECOND to the unabashedly LIBERAL MSNBC.

    Wow.

It’s great time to be a leftie and it has to be a bitch to be a rightie right now.

  • beached

All you people claiming the election hurt Fox Comedy News credibility…. They never had any!

  • Mark2

Laura Ingraham is back to talking about Benghazi, go figure.

O’Reilly needs to find someone else to fill in for him because she is so annoying. Well, at least he doesn’t have Michelle Malkin filling in for him like tried years ago – that was a complete failure.

  • Jeff

I’d love to see a lawsuit filed against the Secretary of State of Florida and the Governor for the voting situation in that State.
It is outrageous that this happened again under another radial Governor attempting to skew an election.

    Time for federal requirements!

The republicans with Citizens United tried to buy the WH……they failed Obama won.
The republicans with illegal laws tried to suppress the vote…..they failed Obama won.
The republicans with dark money tried to buy state elections…….they failed. Democrats gained in the house and senate.

I’m so proud that in 2012, I’m living in a country where a campaign of LIES & DIRTY MONEY, can’t succeed.

If you are a Republican today, you need to do some soul searching and challenge your own party to be more genuine and inclusive. While you are at it you should ask Karl Rove how after spending over 100 million dollars on this election, to explain the less than 1% return in results???

  • TheBoss1

    Rave on, Jeff.

The sad thing is that Republicans will not do that soul searching. They will not reflect and introspect. Fox News and the Right will go on their merry way and act like nothing has changed. They will continue to make excuses and blame the “lamestream” media for their losses while the GOP tent shrinks and shrinks and shrinks.

And the GOP will again get their clocks cleaned in 2016.

  • AppleStinx

    TheBoss1 wrote: “…And Rachel Maddow nailed it…”

What did she nail? I didn’t watch MSNBC last night.

  • Bobbyv

    All,

GOP does need to alter the message. Dems have control now so you need to ask yourselves a question: If the President’s philosophy does not succeed, whatever your definition of success is, what will be the next plan of action for you?

  • Bobbyv

    I meant economically

  • TheBoss1

@Apple … go to the first page and watch from the 12:52 mark until the end. It’s only about two minutes worth. That is … if you were serious with your question about what did Rachel nail. And, if you are confident enough in your world view to have it challenged. I tend to think you are. Prove me correct. Watch it and then respond to it. I would like to hear your thoughts on it, because you are one of the intellectual righties on this site, imho.

  • Jeff

I believe the stocks are taking this tumble because they have doubts, and NO confidence in the leadership of John Boehner being able to have any control of his party and his radical teaparty loons.

  • Jeff

If the GOP blame their huge losses and Obama’s win on a Hurricane……I must admit that is good news for the Democratic Party!!

The GOP will not adjust or change their radical messages for the next election, and will loose again.

HEY PEOPLE??? I can’t find the 24/7 Benghazi News Network. Was it cancelled?

  • Jeff

Wow! Rep. Connie Mack in Florida lost his Senate run, and now his wife Mary Bono Mack in California is in serious trouble in the Coachella Valley as she refuses concede.

Looks like both husband and wife Mack’s are gonna be tossed out on their republican keisters.

  • Mark

    @Jeff

The republicans with illegal laws tried to suppress the vote…..they failed Obama won.
    ————————
Ironically I think the voter laws increased turnout by pissed citizens who felt that the laws were out to try screw them over
