'Survivor' and 'Criminal Minds' Grow Week-to-Week in Viewers and Adults 18-49

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" Wins Time Period in Viewers and Adults 18-49

CBS Top Wednesday in Viewers


SURVIVOR and CRIMINAL notched week-to-week gains in viewers and adults 18-49 while CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION led its time period in viewers and key demos, leading CBS to a nightly viewer win, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Wednesday, Nov. 7.


SURVIVOR: PHILIPPINES was first in households (6.4/10) and viewers (10.25m), and was second in both adults 25-54 (3.9/09) and adults 18-49 (2.7/07).  SURVIVOR was up +8% in adults 18-49 (from 2.5/08), +11% in adults 25-54 (from 3.5/10) and +4% in viewers (from 9.83m) from last week. 


CRIMINAL MINDS was first in households (7.8/12) and viewers (12.03m), and averaged 3.9/09 in adults 25-54 and 3.0/08 in adults 18-49.   CRIMINAL MINDS was up +3% in adults 18-49 (from 2.9/08) and added +40,000 viewers (from 11.99m) from last week.


CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first in households (6.8/11), viewers (10.31m) and adults 25-54 (3.0/07), and was tied for first in adults 18-49 (2.3/06, with NBC).


For the night, CBS was first in households (7.0/11) and viewers (10.86m), and was second in adults 25-54 (3.6/08) and averaged 2.7/07 in adults 18-49.

    For Survivor, it depends on who is in the endgame a lot of the time. If a person that everyone likes gets voted off then that sort of takes away the charm of the show after that one episode because since they were everyone’s favorite, there is no longer anyone to root for. Or if the boot list is predictable like last season’s then nobody watches. So Survivor is a tricky one ratings wise.
