    @Holly

    LOL

  • Nikki

    @ ultima 5 episodes of the secret circle were 0.5 and 0.6 out of 22. And the rest had solid 0.8s and 0.9s and a 1.0 at one point. With extreamly higher viewers then Beauty, Nikita and HOD. It had solid ratings up untill the long breaks between 2 episodes so close to the end. And there was no promotion for the show.

    @ Jamie

    It was Dawn who gave TSC that lead in NOT Pedowitz.

  • SPM

    @ Nikki

    The TSC haters seem to only look at April and May 2012 when slagging the show off, all the solid demo ratings before that seemingly didn’t exist to them.

  • Nikki

    @ jamie nope not an idiot they kill them everyother night what would make Arrow so different.

    and holly it was a buisness dicison, but not a good one. A greed one. very different.. im gunna take a wild guess here and say you were one of those who voted for Romney.

  • Nikki

    @ SPM i know. Ive showed them the ratings before and they still wont accept it. Its funny they call Secret Circle such a terrible show yet the fans and the ratings tell a different story.

  • Ultima

    @Nikki
    5 episodes of the secret circle were 0.5 and 0.6 out of 22. And the rest had solid 0.8s and 0.9s and a 1.0 at one point.

    Except that it was the final five episodes that had the 0.5s and 0.6s!

    And five of the previous six had a rating of 0.7.

    There’s a pattern here, and it’s not difficult to see…

  • Holly

    @Nikki,

    holly it was a buisness dicison, but not a good one. A greed one. very different..

    So a good decision would be one that loses money?

    Anyone who compares this show to Secret Circle didn’t follow the numbers last year. Secret Circle did far better than this show, ratings-wise. BATB is a sinking ship creatively and ratings-wise (it’s already doing worse that Secret Circle did at its bottom — and BATB has ELEVEN exec producers, because they keep bringing in more people to try and make it better.

    i’m really starting to like this show…pilot was not good, but it has gotten better and better…not surprising it was picked up for the whole season…it’s the fourth highest rated show on the network, anyone who thought it would be cut mid season is lying or in denial :)

    @ Ultima

    The show was performing perfectly well until March when the CW took the show on hiatus for three week totally confusing fans as to when it would be back for new episodes so so many live viewers left.

    It was confirmed however that the show was the most DVR’d new show of the 2011 – 12 season which doesn’t mean much in regards to advertisers but shows that it has a SOLID fanbase there which still exists today int he fight to bring it back.

  • Nikki

    @ Ultima so what if it was the last 5. The whole rest of the season was very strong. and to point out again those last 5 episodes that did so bad there was 2 or 3 week breaks in between them. People lose interest in a show when they dont show it, and dont show repeats so new fans can catch up.

    and holly not every decision should be based on money.

  • Holly

    It was confirmed however that the show was the most DVR’d new show of the 2011 – 12 season

    I’m sorry, what?!? Are you seriously claiming that TSC got more DVR viewers than Once Upon a Time?

  • Kavyn

    Does EO cost a lot to produce? I think renewal might be based on how much it costs them considering they have nothing to replace the show with and I’m sure the CW is trying to minimize the anger/backlash as much as possible after the Ringer/Secret Circle thing.

  • Jamie

    @SPM

    Dawn did NOT decide the fall 2011 schedule. She green lit pilots. Pedowitz then ordered and moved as he pleased.

    @Nikki

    It’s different because no ABC Family shows reach men like Arrow does.

  • Ultima

    @Nikki

    Maybe it would help if you actually looked at The Secret Circle’s ratings again.

    1.3, 0.9, 1.0, 0.8, 0.8, 0.9, 0.9, 0.9, 0.8

    (seven weeks off, no ratings drop)

    0.8, 0.8, 0.7

    (one week off, no ratings drop)

    0.7, 0.8, 0.7

    (three weeks off, no ratings drop)

    0.7, 0.7, 0.6

    (two weeks off, ratings drop of 0.1)

    0.5, 0.5, 0.5, 0.6

    I don’t see breaks causing a ratings drop, nor do I see solid ratings all season – I see steadily declinig ratings over the course of an entire season.

    @Nikki,

    You’re right. Things like justice and the common good should definitely be part of business decisions. The personal preferences of fans overly devoted to a TV show on the other hand….

  • SPM

    @ Jamie

    Dawn was the one who planned to pair TSC with The Vampire Diaries so whatever. It was always going to follow that shows lead.

  • SPM

    @ Ultima

    It DID start its downfall following the long March hiatus so get over it, I never said it was the same as it was at the start all the way through, I meant it was steady.
