    First of all, your show & POI aren’t even on at the same time, so I don’t know what your beef is. Secondly, turn off the caps lock key, or people may thing you’re a moron. I already do, but you don’t want to stir up the rest of the populace.

    @Holly
    just talking new shows…you can’t squeeze out 5 seasons of show that has low ratings in first season

    @Everyone beating out Scandal based on a retentionista argument…

    I will play your game, even though it has been proven again and again that networks do not care about retention. Scandal’s retention is not even that awful compared with Nashville’s retention. Suburgatory did a 2.9 yesterday. That’s 0.4 below Grey’s – it’s not that huge, so stop speaking as if Scandal’s lead in is that much better. It is, indeed incredibly good when there are special episodes and stuff like that, but the norm seems to be that Grey’s is strong, but not thaaat much stronger than the other 9h30 shows. Also, Castle has been renewed throghout the years with retention levels that I am sure did not vary much from those that Scandal is getting now. Difference is that its lead-in collapsed and it did not collapse with it, so it looks better by comparion – again, if we follow this retention logic, which networks do not.

    So, bottom line: even playing by retention, Scandal is not as bad you make it out to be!

    Now, looking at actual arguments and facts: I love Scandal, but it is underperfoming, in a network in which everything seems to be underperfoming. It is difficult to look at it objectively in relative terms with the rest of the network, but I think that its consistency will be worth something. The fact that it does not grow out of a 4.5 grey’s lead in is a bad thing but the fact that it does not fall from a 3.0 grey’s lead in is also a very good thing. I actually think the show should have never been advertised as being a shonda rhimes and should have never been associated with greys in any way. I watch and love both but i don’t think they are shows that appeal to the same type of people. I have been saying this for a long time and will go at it again: ABC’s schedule is fundamentally wrong. Scandal should have gotten Sundays at 10 following the much more compatible Revenge whereas Nashville should have gotten the way more compatible Thursday at 10pm. Oh well…

    Mark I’m with you some posters on here are annoying, they come on here specifically to bash on shows that their obsessed with and it gets annoying to read. With there being no ignore button were forced to read it most of the time.

    This dude on the previous page wrote almost two paragraphs about The Voice beating The X Factor. Okay we get it you like The Voice but dude STFU!

  • Phill

    wow tvd! it always delivers. And great for Greys! 9 seasons and still one os the top dramas this fall!

  • Lucas

    Unbelievable TVD beat Last Resort! THAT’S AWESOME. Last night’s were amazing as usual! So happy with this season and this show, never fails to amaze me. <3

  • BigBrotherFan

    @Idiots

    I hope you’re not talking about me. I gave XFACTOR a shot with Spears and all but dude it sucks big time with its hosts. I know Xtina is a better judge than Spears but thats not what is killing the show even more..It’s the hosts of the show. Lopez is horrible. PERIOD! His time is way off, he does not connect and his choppy. If they continue with him of course ratings will go down. I can think of 5 people who are better for the hosting duties of this show, and as much as I think Chloe sucks she is nowhere as bad as Lopez. He should stick with his entertainment shows THAT ARE PRE TAPED and his reality garbage stuff!

    Just take a look at the numbers before they went LIVE and without LOZEZ.

  • silvertron

    I believe putting all three prior seasons of TVD on Netflix has helped the show. I think it may have helped Walking Dead as well (though it probably doesn’t need much help).

  • forg

    wow at The Big Bang Theory! I still can’t help but imagine the numbers it could it it’s on at 9 pm. Possible 6.0? Just glad there’s still a broadcast scripted series pulling strong overnight numbers.

  • SarahL

    @Bill Gorman

    I think that the new dramas have to fail and Castle and Nashville has to collapse for Scandal to get another season. Scandal has not built its audience and is stuttering and Shonda Rhimes has a new sci-fi drama can take that prime slot after Grey’s.

  • CrimTV

    @SarahL

    Yeah cause a science-fiction series would go well after Grey’s Anatomy …..

  • James S

    I reckon people here don´t remember what they read before. Castle is a syndicated show, it wont be canned in favour of either Scandal or Nashville as it has a money generated support system, the other two don’t.
    POI i sdoing well, not great but the numbers are good and the demo is constant, that’s good for a show with a choppy lead-in, even last year CBS are renowned for starting strong and falling off by close of play. This isn’t a case of POI but a general trend on the network.

  • American

    Last Resort at the end of the totem pole. That show will be too short for this world. Oh well.

  • One

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    COME BACK, LAST RESORT!!!!!!!!! COME BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SarahL

    @CrimTV

    You mean like a sci-fi series (Revolution) going well after a reality singing show (The Voice)? RME. A whole lot of know-it-alls howled that it was a complete mismatch after NBC announced the scheduling too.

  • THE OLD MAN

    Scandal adjusts down & Elementary again wins 10:00–Go CBS!

    @SarahL, “I think that the new dramas have to fail and Castle and Nashville has to collapse for Scandal to get another season. Scandal has not built its audience and is stuttering and Shonda Rhimes has a new sci-fi drama can take that prime slot after Grey’s.”

    Given that currently Scandal, Nashville and Castle are pretty close in the ratings (which I think gives an edge to the already syndicated Castle), I don’t think the choice between Scandal and Nashville for the “next” cancellation (after 666 and LR, plus PP) is a slam dunk.

    As for the total number of drama holes they’ll allow for Fall, 2013, if no spring dramas survive, there will already be three (666, LR, PP). Currently, I just don’t see the ratings situation with either Nashville or Scandal being so dire that ABC is going to want to open a fourth.

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ One

    Sorry dude, it’s not looking too good for LR, but hey, enjoy the eps that will be aired while you can (like me & Mob Doctor)

    I’m still reeling that MD doesn’t have a Christmas episode, but alas, such is life

    Here is a little thing people should keep in mind when talking about the 10PM hour.

    Average Rating
    ABC 1.889
    CBS 1.995
    NBC 2.297
    Overall 2.0218

    The above numbers are the average rating for the 10PM slot for all scripted shows by Network since the season began. In a way, the average rating for all shows is 2.02. I know people look at 2.0 as being something terrible, but the reality is that besides Revolution no 10PM show consistently gets above a 2.5.

    Elementary is CBS highest rated show at 10PM, but the number is skewed by its big premiere number. If not for that, CSI would be the highest. Revolution leads NBC, but take away Revolution and NBC’s average falls to a 1.8. Nashville is ABC’s highest rated show at 10PM, but it’s numbers are skewed by its big premiere otherwise Castle would be higher rated.
