I am loving GH right now, with the Scorpio family front and center! Where they should be! I have always FFd the Corinthos and anyone mob related. Tristan Rogers’ return this week should raise ratings, because his return last February was GH’s highest-rated day this year. “Cartini” knows what they are doing! DAYS, on the other hand, is giving me NOTHING. They killed off Jack, they’re pairing Sami with her rapist, EJ (and I know a lot of people like them, I just don’t happen to be one of them), and Melanie left, Bo left, all the remaining couples are just not interesting to me. I’ll probably tune in during the Christmas holidays, though, for the Horton family tree-trimming.

Greg…a writer’s sexual orientation doesn’t make one better to write for certain people. A gay writer can be just as horrendous as a straight writer and a straight writer can be just as great as a gay writer. That statement actually borders on homophobic, by insinuating that gay writers are somehow feminine and able to “channel” a female perspective. The soap genre – both in primetime and daytime – have been littered with many talented straight writers for decades. The decidedly straight William J. Bell created and penned “Y&R” for many years durings it reign as the most popular daytime soap.

The character of Adam was never really bisexual. He was merely trying to seduce the gay character of Rafe for a self serving purpose.

I agree Brad GH is a MUST SEE TV! I liked MarDar better than Days new writers. The Sami hour is old. Jen with Dan so soon after Jack’s death. Not believable… Days needs another 30ish actress bad! JMO. The great thing about GH is they LOVE the vets… Days treats them like well I won’t go there.

  • Gene

GH has become Must See TV now you know a writer is great when they can bring the Scorpios front and center and pull it off the right way.

I’m still haunted by that cliffhanger.

  • Chrisann D

LOL Gene, I know what a GREAT cliffhanger. I am loving GH!Loved seeing Alan talk to Monica and AJ. I am wondering when Edward Q is going to pass on GH. He is such a big part of the Quartermaine family. Has anyone heard if they will try to replace him or if they will have him pass?

  • Pinevalleylover

@chrisann D edward Q’s going to pass in a couple of weeks because alan is back skye is coming back in a couple of weeks and ive heard possibly ned ashton is coming back for his funeral episode. Edward will be missed on GH:(

  • Amanda

@LMS questions Nicole is a serial killer???

Does this mean she might kill Sami and save DOOL?

  • Chrisann D

PineValleyLover, Thanks for the info. I agree he will be missed.

  • Greg

JayTN, I’m a gay man, and what I said is my personal opinion. So I’ll just leave it at that.

  • jonboyelk

    @Mary Amen to that!

  • NBC is awesome

Am i the only one not seeing any improvement quality wise on GH? These new writers don’t seem to be able to write interesting story lines. Why are they taunting us with this Robin thing? We know she isn’t coming back permanently, so just leave it alone! the whole Connie thing got old like a year ago. The only thing I’m getting excited for is Lulu/Dante baby thing, and Spinelli/Ellie/Maxie. Everything else is just meh.

  • jonboyelk

Did I miss the memo? Where did it say FV and RC are gay?

  • NBC is awesome

    Hope GH continues to rise!

  • NBC is awesome

Why is ‘days of Our Lives’ shortened to ‘Days”? Wouldn’t DOOL make more sense?

  • Amanda

I started watching GH when One Life to Live went off the air because I was thrilled some of the characters and writer and producer were moving over. It took me a little while to get into the groove, but I am loving every second of the show. I’m so invested in what going on, and since I watched GH in the 80s, it’s great to see so many of those actors still taking front and center. I agree that we should be banding together and just enjoying what is left of our daytime instead of playing “This sucks” or “You suck.” If you don’t like something, that’s fine, but I think it’s so easy when you are posting online to just be mean and nasty. I’ve been coming on here for a long time (although this is my first post), and mostly the conversation is intelligent. It always stands out when it’s not.

  • TimsDale4ever

lmao at Will — he’s like, “go away b!tch I’m “finally” getting some of what I really want”…. I have got to start watching this show regularly…

These ratings aren’t that bad for partial ratings which says to me some viewers were left out of the figures, so does that mean if they weren’t partial ratings the figures would be higher?

GH is very good right now. I do believe they have the best actors on daytime. Three of them won the Emmys this year: Anthony Geary, Nancy Lee Grahn and Jonathan Jackson. That says a lot…

I also enjoy DAYS right now, it is getting better and better. With the arrival of the talented Eileen Davidson(Kristen) it is must-see TV. Just love her! I always thought that Y&R never used her full potential as an actress, it’s their loss and DAYS gain.

As for Y&R, now that Maria Arena Bell is gone, the show has improved and refocused on the characters that we love or hate.

    KUDOS to all of them…

Sorry, I do not watch B&B…

  • JayTN

Greg…I don’t really care who you choose to sleep with. What I said is my personal opinion. I’ll just leave it at that.

Back to the ratings…based on the daily viewership figures provided by SON, here is how the soaps would have ranked had it been a regular, normal week. (By the way, these ratings will not be factored into the season-to-date numbers, so essentially, these numbers do not matter.)

    Week of Oct. 29, 2012
The Young and the Restless – 4,177,000 total viewers (-233,000 from last week; -75,000 from last year)
The Bold and the Beautiful – 3,009,000 total viewers (-99,000; +43,000)
    General Hospital – 2,700,000 total viewers (-51,000; +307,000)
Days of Our Lives – 2,438,000 total viewers (+13,000; +148,000)
