TV Ratings Friday: 'Malibu Country' & 'Last Man Standing' Fall, 'Undercover Boss' Up + 'Grimm' & 'Shark Tank' Dip

ABC was number one in adults 18-49, while CBS was on top in total viewers.

On ABC, Last Man Standing garnered a 1.6, down four tenths from last week's 2.0 adults 18-49 rating. Malibu Country earned a 1.6, down seven tenths from last week's 2.3 adults 18-49 rating. Shark Tank earned a 2.1, dipping two tenths from last week's  2.3  adults 18-49 rating. 20/20 notched a 1.6, up a tick from last week's 1.5 adults 18-49 rating.

On NBC, Grimm notched a 1.7, dipping a single tenth from last week's 1.8 adults 18-49 rating,. Dateline NBC earned a 1.3, up two tenths from last week's 1.1rating.

On FOX, Kitchen Nightmares earned a 1.2, up two tenths from last week's 1.0 adults 18-49 rating. Fringe was even with last week’s 0.9.

On CBS,  Undercover Boss earned a 2.0, up half a ratings point from last week's 1.5 adults 18-49 rating. CSI: NY earned a 1.4, down a tenth from last week's 1.5 adults 18-49 rating. Blue Bloods scored a 1.5, up two tenths from last week's 1.3 Adults 18-49 rating.

On the CW, America’s Next Top Model garnered a 0.6, up two tenths from last week's 0.4 adults 18-49 rating. Nikita was even with last week's 0.3.

*	In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The
Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.8/7; CBS's "Late Show with David
Letterman," 2.7/7; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 2.7/6; and "Jimmy
Kimmel Live," 1.5/4 with an encore.  

*	In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results
were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.6/3;
"Nightline," 0.9/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.

*	At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.5/5 in
metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig
Ferguson" (1.3/4).  In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late
Night" (0.6/3 in 18-49) beat "Late Late Show" (0.4/2).

*	At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/3 in
metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49
in the 25 markets with local people meters.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    CSI: NY will get adjusted up ! If a 1.4 is not good for a 9-years show what is a 1.3 for a 3-years show (Blue Bloods past Friday) ?

    I agree, LMS does suck. last week’s episode was so bad we decided to give it one more week because we thought, maybe the election humor affected it, but this weeks episode was even worse. We deleted off our programming.

    Fringe is gone after January 18. Forever. They’ve announced it and everything. Its current ratings won’t change its fate (It’s already a dead show airing), but they do ensure it won’t get any last-minute reprieves and will certainly make FOX think differently about renewing any other struggling shows early on in their runs.

    Yes, NIITA is a damn good show, the best on CW. Yes, it’s getting no coverage, no promotions. Mark Pedowitz saced it from being canceled. So we have to thank him.

    Move NIKITA to wednesdays, CW morons. Give it the deathslot, you’ll see no improvement. SN is in its last season, put it on friday.

    FYI: CTV has pulled the plug on Nikita for Shark Tank. Pathetic network.

    Does anybody know why NBC hasn’t been able to launch any hit dramas and sitcoms for at least the past 2 years without The Voice as a lead-in? Is the network really cursed?

    It launched Grimm last year successfully. Voice or not, Smash is coming back.

    Your question is better suited if its directed towards FOX.

    Speculation. You don’t know that.

    Plus, Nikita has only been available on demand from one cable provider for three weeks. I doubt it’s “way up there” in all on demand viewing.

    Why people still argue against Nikita I will never know, this statement above speaks for itself. Nikita is the top CW show in a lot of European countries like Italy while TVD was a flop.

    This debate is overrated too.

    And why is Friday at 9pm a death slot on CW? SPN did fine 2 seasons for CW. Having Nikita on the schedule is a deathslot more like.

    Despite the demo its been on Fridays for like 3 seasons with that same demo or close to it. The viewership is super high though like Blue Bloods so nobody at CBS really cares about that.

    Some of you guys are blowing LMS way out of proportion, casting changes happen all the time. The episodes this season have been a huge step up from the horrid episodes they were throwing out there during the 2nd half of last season.

    I disagree ! Nikita is far to be a hit here in France. The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural have a biggest influenceNikita airs on cable network and the ratings are certainly not high. On the other hand, Supernatural airs on M6 (French #2 network equivalent to ABC) and has a bigger audience.. What I’m saying is just true for France (I don’t know the numbers for the other countries) ;-)

    I’m sorry but Nikita WAS the best show on the CW. This season however has taken a serious nose dive in quality. Imho Arrow has been much better. Nikita is really disappointing me, and if they don’t keep Amanda on the show and stick to the procedural garbage it’ll continue to sink, as well as if they continue to focus on the relationship garbage.

    Nikita fans continue to present the idea that Nikita should be saved because it is popular internationally (something wacky Bondoel, of all people, started) as if this is fact, yet none of you has ever presented a shred of proof that this is so. Nor have you given any figures indicating that alleged international popularity, if it exists, makes any money for the network or the studio, let alone enough to make the show profitable.

    So, before you continue down this rabbit hole any further, give up some proof of your claim. Put up or shut up.

    You’ve got to be joking – or trolling. SPN did pretty well in that “death slot,” last season, enough to get moved to Wednesdays, where it’s doing even better. And this is *not* its last season, no matter how much you wish it were.

    And you think it would be in anything approaching the network’s best interests to take Nikita off Fridays, where it’s barely hanging on, and switch it with the network’s third-highest-rated show, so that it can perform a tenth of a point or two better (maybe) on Wednesdays? That’s some fine Fan Excuse Bingo crack you’re smoking.

    I agree with you that the third season has been worse than the first two, but even im seek of Sean, I still love this show and what you said about Arrow being better than Nikita’s third season is crazy, Arrow doesnt get to Nikita’s feet :)

    Nikita haters make me laugh boy, I’m not even a fan of the show but the haters make themselves look worse and worse every week.

    Nobody needs proof for anything, The CW bringing it back for a third season is all the proof you need.
