Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2012 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

@ Oliver: That’s another good reason but why didn’t that affect other does of the week?

  • POI

i hope nikita gets adjusted up not down.

  • POI

    CSI:NY Should get canceled.

  • TheFollowing

I think Fox’s average rating is wrong.

So viewers are starting to discover that Kitchen Nightmare is back.

  • r0ckmypants

Since no one else has said it yet, I’ll be the first:

    Skyfall killed Friday night shows!

  • BOTR

Not that surprised by that LMS rating; I expect it to drop further now that the political stuff is here to stay.

  • tvwatcher

Grimm is still doing great. How about a good lead-in, NBC? Something compatible, which is not a repeat!

  • Jamie

At KS, I watch both America’s Next Top Model and Nikita.

Thought, I don’t live in the U.S., so your Nielson comment still stands.

  • s0303

malibu country dropped seven tenths, not six

  • rob60990

    Weird increase for Undercover Boss.

LMS held up decently considering all the hoopla over the recasting. Pretty big fall for Malibu Country. Shark Tank still strong.

From what I have read Last Man Standing can be added to the the list of “What not to do going into your second season”

-New Showrunner who changes the whole feel of the show
-Recast and Rewrite a lead character that makes it seem like that character is a new character on the show

  • robin

    CW this week

    TVD- 1.5
    Arrow- 1.3
    SPN- 1.0

  • rob60990

The ABC comedies will stick around as long as they dont drop below a 1.5.

  • Paul

ABC should swap Malibu Country and Last Man Standing. I think it’ll help the night out better.

  • Brandy

KS,Hart is stable on Tues and Nikita keeps falling on Fri & is thier lowest rated show so Nikita not moving off fri.

  • Dan

1.6 is still not bad for fridays. If these comedies can stablize they will be fine

  • Dahne

KS – Nikita is in the same time slot that Supernatural was in last year with the same Grimm and Fringe competition. It’s not the time slot. It’s how many people are willing to give up a Friday night to watch the show. I remember last year some Nikita fans who are no longer posting here kept saying that Supernatural was in the superior time slot and they cheered a lot when they heard it was moving to 9. They maintained that if Nikita was in that time slot it would get similar ratings as SPN. That didn’t happen. I like Nikita and wish it well, but at some point people have to face facts. Nikita is never going to be a ratings leader on the CW. It will be lucky not to be low show on the totem pole to be honest.
