    Back to school, work is getting a wee bit more complicated for her so I have to be around her more. But that’s good news for those I drive nuts in here LOL

    I just hope not too many people are hurt by the flying scrap.

    I don’t think markets are going down because of Greece, I don’t think markets are going down because of the ‘fiscal cliff’ — because there won’t be a ‘fiscal cliff,’ ” Faber told CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” “The market is going down because corporate profits will begin to disappoint, the global economy will hardly grow next year or even contract, and that is the reason why stocks, from the highs of September of 1,470 on the S&P, will drop at least 20 percent, in my view.”

    Doug Z,
    I have sat in the board rooms over the last two years and listened. What you are saying is true to a point BUT…………..business want to grow, they can grow

    ========================

    Businesses cannot grow in this environment. Compared to the rest of the world, our wage demands and standard of living are through the roof. Companies that can afford to take their operations overseas and take advantage of the massive wage disparity will continue to do so. We’re going down unless we can come up with a new project to keep everyone distracted for another fifty or so years. Or someone could start a third world war and have a plan to win it. It will definitely have to be something on that scale.

    Yeah, so. At least we’re saving spotted owls. You must be one of those right wing loons who wants dirty air and dirty water.

    What the U.S. needed was some pain, he said, aptly demonstrated by the euro zone’s austerity measures that are attempting, with a mixed measure of success, to curb gaping budget deficits.

    “There will be pain and there will be very substantial pain. The question is do we take less pain now through austerity or risk a complete collapse of society in five to 10 years’ time?” he said, adding that there was a lack of political will to tackle the U.S. budget.

    When the Western counties do not pay their workers enough to buy the products they build, who will buy it.

    Faber added: “In a democracy, they’re not going to take the pain, they’re going to kick down the problems and they’re going to get bigger and bigger.

    “In the Western world, including Japan, the problem we have is one of too much debt and that debt now will have to be somewhere, somehow repaid or it will slow down economic growth,” Faber said. “I think we lived beyond our means from 1980 to 2007, and now it’s payback period.”

    ===========================

    If society collapses, it will happen within the span of 48 to 72 hours, and I don’t think that it helps to anticipate the end to come five or 10 years from now.

    “I don’t care about workers or their pay or the amount of jobs that are saved. We must protect our environment!” This was a quote from my aunt a year or so ago. I couldn’t respond, and just looked at her in very long silence.

    Petraeus Could Be Prosecuted by Military for Adultery. Everybody to jail to protect BHO. Julius Cesar was better than him

    We Won the Cold War. Did the Communists Win the Peace?

    By the time President Barack Obama leaves office in 2016, Americans will have spent 16 of the 24 years since the Cold War with a Democrat in the White House. The first eight years saw the center-left administration of Bill Clinton, who added work to the welfare system and acknowledged the importance of limited government and free trade. Under Obama, those ideas are passé–so much so that even Clinton seems to have abandoned them.

    LOL

    We are the Roman Empire and O. is Nero.

    I didn’t know he could play the fiddle!

    O. will skate on Libya. The corrupt media is going to attack Petreus and the military to take the focus off O. and his cover up.

    I kind of like the sound of the fiddle. The libs. are even figuratively feeding the Christians to the lions. The Barbarians will soon be at our doorstep.

    Gone are the days of finding a workable solution, so it seems.

    I like Chris Martenson’s ‘Three E’ synopsis of our current predicament: Economy – Environment – Energy.

    Economy – A debt-based currency together with fractional reserve lending facing a time when lenders want return on investment and there is nothing with which to pay.

    Environment – Dwindling resources with growing population.

    Energy – Cost to harness getting closer and closer to the benefit realized in its use.

    What is MSNBC talking about? So, I turn on MSNBC today, because I like to see both sides of a story and the Morning Joe team is saying the election shows that Obama and the dems have the overwhelming support of the American people. They point at the elect college numbers and call it a mandate. What a spin! Let’s look at real numbers.
    229 million U.S. people of voting age.
    62 million voted for Obama. That’s 27% of the people
    61 million voted against Obama. That’s 26.6% of the people
    When did being supported by .4% more Americans become overwhelming support? Wake up people and stop believing your MSNBC spin.
    =====================

    From whence did you get those numbers?

  • cathy

    TZCA,

    Yes, saving spotted owls is more important then feeding, clothing and housing people. Libs are funny. They see a man shooting a bear because the bear is about to attack his children and cry, “What a horrible man! If he didn’t live in the bears area he wouldn’t have to kill the bear.” Then they watch a nature show and see one bear kill another and they say. “It’s the circle of life. Only the strong live.”
    They see lumber companies cut down a 100 trees and replant 150 trees and cry, “We are killing a whole ecosystem.” They see a nature story were deer kill 500 trees because they eat the barf off of them and say, “The deer was dong what it had to do to live.”
    Why do animals have the right to destroy ecosystems and other animals to live but man doesn’t?
    Stop spending so much money trying to make the U.S. greener. We were do the world a greater service by helping China, Japan and other countries become as green as the U.S. currently is.
