Update: The CW's Paul Hewiwitt denies that the show has been canceled. "It has not been shut down.
If anyone had bothered to call me, I would have told them that.:"
Our apologies to the CW. In our haste to get the story first, we jumped the gun.
original post:
Vancouver based production blogger Susan Gittins has tweeted that Emily Owens has been canceled, writing. "Sad news today. Vancouver-shot #EmilyOwensMD cancelled. A charming show that got lost in Fall launch."
The show premiered to an 0.5 adults 18-49 rating. Subsequent episodes hit as low as a 0.3, though last night's episode rose slightly to an 0.4. More details as they become available.

It is shocking in the sense it happened this early — BEFORE the midseason shows premiere
hahahahha about time
I actually enjoyed this show.
Soooooowhat is going to replace EOMD in the new year ? I know they have Cult waiting in the wings but that might pair better on Thur with TVD. Then BATB could move to Tues following HOD.
FWIW — this guy who claims to work at The CW replied to Susan’s tweet and said the show has not been canceled:
https://twitter.com/wittz_end/status/268781842214301696
But I supposed we’ll have to wait for something official from the network either way.
Any show getting canceled before Mob Doctor shocks me.
Not really a shocker, the relevant questions being:
1) Just what does CW air Fridays @9? Carrie Diaries?
2) Just how amusing will those HoD to Cult promos be?
looooooooooooooooooool
That is all
Good actors in a bad show.
Now Justin Hartley can go back to Hart of Dixie for a few episodes.
Err, which repeat on Fridays, to be clear.
It was a deccent show,but if its cancellation helps HoD &Beauty&the Beast,then I can live with it.I knew this happen,it premiered low and had low ratings.I think itll finish airing 13 episodes if theyre that far in production as theyres nothing to replace it til Jan unless Pedowitz wants a second hour of reruns a week through Jan or a cheap reality or filler show_like la complex.
To those talking about it being pulled before the midseason, I’m not sure that we can be sure that is what the tweet is saying. It is possible that the production got word that there would be no more new episodes produced, which is cancellation. But it doesn’t necessarily mean the show is getting pulled off the schedule before all the episodes air.
Even if the CW don’t order a back 9, they won’t pull it off the air, since they have nothing better to air, but I guess they might shut down production early before they’ve even filmed all 13.
@SPM
TSC is still canceled. Umad? Cry some more.
Daniel Fienberg of HitFix says The CW has explicitly denied its cancellation.
@YES
Have you seen the shows in developmental for the CW right now? Definitely not Dawn 2.0
As does Brian Steinberg of AdAge:
@ herpderp
Canceled it may be but it will always be an injust cancelation and it lives on in its fan continual fights.
The fact Chiller bought the rights to re air it so soon also speaks volumes so go to hell.
@SPM
Haha. Arrow and SPN piss all over TSC’s dead corpse. Umad? Rage some more.
Now BRING BACK RINGER please
