TV Ratings Monday: 'Revolution' Hits Low, 'The Voice' & 'Bones' Down, 'How I Met Your Mother' & 'Mike & Molly' Up

Last night’s Monday Night Football game (Chiefs/Steelers) was simulcast on the ABC affiliates in Kansas City and Pittsburgh. As a result, the ABC numbers may be inflated  and subject to more than typical adjustments in the finals.

NBC was number one with adults 18-49, while ABC won with total viewers.

On NBC, The Voice earned a 4.3 down 4% from last week's 4.5 adults 18-49 rating. Revolution scored a series-low 2.6 among adults 18-49, down 7% from last week's 2.8. Your predictions were too optimistic.

On CBS, How I met Your Mother earned a 3.0 among adults 18-49, up 7% from last week's 2.8. Partners garnered a series-low1.8 adults 18-49 rating down 14% from last week's  2.1. 2 Broke Girls scored a 3.2 among adults 18-49, even with last week. Mike & Molly earned a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating, up 7% from last week's 2.8. Hawaii Five-O notched  a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating, matching last week’s performance.

On ABC, Dancing With the Stars scored a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating, up 5% from last week's 2.1. Castle earned a 2.1, up 11% from last week's 1.9 adults 18-49 rating. However, football preemptions may have impacted these numbers.

On FOX, Bones scored a 1.9 among adults 18-49, down 5% from last week's 2.0. The Mob Doctor garnered a 0.9, down 10% from last week's 1.0 adults 18-49 rating.

On the CW, 90210 earned a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating, up 50% from last week's 0.4. Gossip Girl scored a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating, up 33% from last week's 0.3.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    What happened during the last half-hour of The Voice? Dropping from a 4.6 to a 4.2 in a higher HUT hour is strange.

    Bones also had it’s best episode in quite a while last night. It was a very very touching episode.

    The Voice ended at 10:01, so Revolution might even be adjusted downward, unfortunately.

    Rob60990′ CB? had 2 and a half men on mondays which he?ped ratings for evening shows. This year they shifted the show to thursdays and so the whole schedule has lower ratings potential.

    I’m surprised that nobody is blaming Football for the drop in ratings for Revolution, but I still think its safe for renewal.

    Due to NFL coverage in Pittsburgh expect Castle and DWTS to be adjusted down about a tenth in the overnights.

    Also expect a downward adjustment of Revolution given the minute over run for the Voice. Also one should notice the drop in the Voice at 930PM. What could have caused the loss of a million viewers and 4/10s demo.

    Can someone please tell me WHY CBS is still airing Partners? A 1.8 for CBS is like a 0.2 for the CW. They need to pull the show off their schedule ASAP, it is destroying the momentum of their Monday comedy lineup. Why did they cancel How To Be A Gentleman after only TWO episodes (which were both higher rated than Partners) but Partners has been airing for months. CBS evens airs PROMOS for Partners all the time, why are they throwing good money down the toilet for this show??? Is Julie Chen a fan????? I don’t get it….

    Pathetic numbers for the 10p shows. Revolution demo is dropping but it doesn’t look like they’re going to any of the other 10p shows.

    Repeats of The Big Bang Theory would do better than Partners. It is time to cancel Partners effective immediately. Then in January when Rules of Engagement returns, I could see it maintaining a 2.4-2.7. That would be of help to 2 Broke Girls, especially without the competition from The Voice.

    BRG 90210 scored over a million viewers the second episode this season.cbs needs to get rid of Partners,it’s bringing 2Broke Girls down,that looks like its last spring ratings.Yay for 90210 going up! At least GG was up a little in demo.GG and 2 BGs were good episodes,90210 was a reasonably good episode last night.Hope all these stay steady or adjust up.

    The 10 O’Clock Hour is the new Friday Night.

    And that’s the best case scenario, here. It could be on its way to being the new Saturday Night.
