    I served 2 years active army reserves followed by 6 years active navy.

    My experience is that Mark2 does not reflect most of those who serve in combat ready positions, at least not as of 1998 when I was discharged. I cannot say anything about those serving in administrative, intel, or Command Control positions. My only knowledge of the here-and-now is that a large percentage of new hires at my company are veterans, and the ones I talk to are very conservative on fiscal issues but we don’t talk much about social issues.

    I deal with a lot of military and retired military who then go to work at the Federal Center doing much of the same thing but as a civilian. I am a certified USAA Real Estate agent (one of very few in SW Michigan)I have gone through additional background checks and other clearences to do it. I have NEVER ran across someone with Mark2′s additude. Hence I am leaning more towards BS than DOD!

    And by the way, the military people I deal with dont retire at 41 and suck on the government teet. They take the pension but then continue to work in related fields as there desire to searve does not go away.
