    I actually enjoyed last nights episode of Private Practice. Alfre Woodard is a strong actress and I really enjoyed watching Taye Diggs acting alongside her and Richard Roundtree. I thought it was a very emotional/heartfelt episode.

  2. POIFanatic

    Even with good writing and The Voice as a lead-in, Go On can’t muster a 2.5. This drop is worrisome.

    Another great article on Adage..

    http://adage.com/article/digitalnext/tv-put-mass-mass-media-anymore/232988/

    TV’s ability to reach a lot of people in a short period of time, and to do it efficiently, is what has historically set it apart from all other advertising media. It is why national brand advertisers have to plan and buy it first and why TV has historically received the dominant share of brand expenditures.

    …..

    Unfortunately, so much of the energy in TV buying today is spent chasing those declining dozen or so top-rated shows rather than developing the analytical chops to efficiently accumulate target audience across the exploding landscape of smaller-rated shows that attract relevant, passionate audiences. The problem, as all media researchers know, is that heavy TV viewers tend to watch all of the highly-rated shows, so buying more of those shows doesn’t get you much more reach. Not so when you get into lots and lots of lower-rated shows.

    Contrary to the opinion of many, strategically dispersing ads across many smaller audience shows is not mutually exclusive with buying those several high-rated shows which clients seem to prefer. They complement each other, and you get much more reach and much better balanced frequency.

    Only because the CW president hated TSC my dear. It was an injust cancelation.

  13. Kaio

    @SPM
    “It was an injust cancelation” I don’t think so.

  14. BG

    Poor Emily Owens! I’ll keep enjoying it until the CW cancels it.

  15. Jen

    worst rated episode of Private Practice ever? It’s been falling rapidly since the cancellation announcement :( (

  16. Sweetd

    It seems like most people must be DVR-ing Happy Endings, and watching New Girl live.

    The Live + SD are 2.9 for Happy Endings and 2.6 for New Girl

    Wonder if this is enough to convince ABC to move HE to 8PM when Voice goes on hiatus.

  17. Tom

    Krysten Ritter does a wonderful job playing Chloe in Apt. 23. I loved her in Breaking Bad as well. But, what’s the deal with last week’s half hour ad for People Magazine? That digression pretty much put a chill on what otherwise has been an amusing and quirky show.

  18. Hades

    @Tyson

    thanks for that, made me LOL in the office
