Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Oh my god… Tuesday doesn’t look good at all for ABC…
All scripted shows below 1.5. And i hate to see Private Practice end sooo low. It will probably hit the under 1.0 mark sometime soon.
I don’t see any hope for the 2 Midseason Comedys which should air at 8pm! ABC should rethink that and probably look for another hour (But i could not see which one…)

I don’t understand why NBC only have limited episodes of Parenthood almost each season. It is one of it’s best and steadiest dramas.

    @Brian J

Go On/TNN are after a huge Voice lead-in. Let’s see how they do in January once their lead-in is Betty White’s Off Their Rockers.

I expect New Girl to receive a bump in ratings as more people switch to watching it live.

  • Kavyn

I’m surprised at how well HOD is doing. Last season so many people were hating it and now it’s gotten popular. I imagine HOD is slowly gaining the OTH fanbase?

Didn’t HOD premiere it’s first episode with a 0.8? I think there’s no doubt it’ll get it’s third and fourth seasons unless it starts to plummet.

  • Reality TV Addict

@ mula, it’s not. Almost 11 million viewers for a results show is practically double the audience of XF.

“I would put Shark Tank on Tuesday Nights after DWTS and then move Happy Endings and Apt 23 to air after LMS/MC on Friday nights.”

They’re airing a special episode of Shark Tank at 8pm on December 5. I think that would be a solid idea for Shark Tank if ABC wants a 2 hour TGIF however HE & Apartment 23 are too young skewing to air on a Friday night. Neither are compatible with LMS & MC.

  • zerg

lol fox sell 30sec ad on New Girl at 300k and it got only 2.2

  • OERM

I think ABC would move PP to Wednesday for the final episodes on January, they will air one episode there next week.
1.1on demo is awful, but they do that to the show.

  • chrisss

If I were in charge of scheduling at ABC, I’d put SHIELD at 9pm Tuesdays next year.

  • mula

the voice is down significantly from their last regularly scheduled tuesday show though

  • Samunto

Is that a new low for PP?

One of NBC, ABC, or FOX must drop their comedies on Tuesdays. None of them is really shining. NBC could try one their new medical dramas at 9 and hope for the effect Idol had on House.

  • senor chang

    Random unorganized thoughts:
-shocking how Ben and Kate can plummet three tenths and Mindy can gain two
-Parenthood is impressing in its slot, all things considered
    -what happened to Private Practice?
    -surprisingly good for HoD
-Americans hate the things I love
    -?????

  • Paul

Ratings carnage on ABC and CBS.

NBC is doing surprisingly well. Judging by CBS’ and ABC’s ratings, NBC’s ratings are excellent.

  • Alex

I hope Emily Owens gets adjusted up. Such a good show.

  • mula

@reality tv addcit: the facts speak for themselves. i ignored last week’s result show because it wasn’t on on their regular night. spin all you want but they’ve lost at least .5 in their demo since the last time it aired on a tuesday. fact.

and who said anything about x factor?! what does that show have to with what i said?

  • maxwell

i’m so sad about Apt 23! It’s such a good and funny show! It’s one of the funniest comedies on TV right now!

  • Tommy

I mean honestly 3 different networks airing an hour of comedies at the same time. Of course all three are going to suffer, although I’m surprised that ABC is continuously pulling in third place…

  • Ram510

What happened to ABC? Nothing over a 2.0

  • RJ

    @eridapo

You should probably cite Marc Berman for those half hour numbers.

  • mula

    @ reality tv addict:

“On NBC, The Voice earned a 3.8 down from a 4.6 adults 18-49 rating for its most recent Tuesday episode, but up 27% from last Thursday’s results show. ”

    ^^^^^^and there you have it
