Wednesday has been full of woe for NBC this season. After scheduling one of the season's biggest bombs, the canceled Animal Practice, in the 8PM slot, the network is now trying to improve its ratings with tonight's return of Whitney. Last season, the series debuted to a strong 3.2 adults 18-49 rating in the Thursday at 9:30PM timeslot but quickly declined. Midseason, it moved to Wednesday at 8PM. Its first season finale, which aired on March 28, 2012, scored a 1.6. How do you think it will fare in season 2? Make your predictions and discuss your reasoning in the comments.

Curiosity will give it fair numbers tonight but surely it wont make it to season 3?

Watching it right now tonight’s episode is a good one. I usually would be watching X Factor right now but I’m hooked on Whitney.

  • Leondre

    Tonight’s episode was really funny.

    Community!!!!!!!!

  • Carly is Overrated

Why do Community fans always have to connect themselves to this show? Whitney has nothing to do with them.

  • Greg

    1.6, tops.

  • Bob

    Curt,
2.0 for Whitney, 2.0 for GWK.

I hope you are right. I want Guys with Kids to survive so badly. I just got my Mom to watch and she loved it. She never watched it before so hopefully there will be others that do the same. 18-49 folks PLEASE WATCH!!!!!

Based on what the sitcoms are averaging for NBC on Weds I would say about 1.4 Quite honestly I don’t see Whitney making much of an impact. It’s a mediocre show that was on the bubble to be renewed to begin with. My guess is that it will go the way of Up All Night, and be another sophomore slumper.

Bob sometimes that’s all it takes to grow a show’s audience if people spread the word and introduce people to it they get into it.

GWK is way stronger at this point than Chelsea was so I don’t see too much slippage for it behind Whitney.

These numbers are going to be interesting in a few hours from now.

I don’t expect too much from this show but it will get much higher rate than AP. Please boost Guys with kids which has so much potential.

  • Greg

Whitney Sucks. it just started to get lousy in a much of episodes. it started to make her friend gay. and just lost me. i thought it was getting worse.

Overnights are not looking good at all: a 3.1 in HH for Whitney, just below that for Guys With Kids. For comparison, the first episode of Animal Practice at 8 got a 3.6 HH, which translated to 1.4 in the demo and around 5 million viewers. Whitney should skew slightly lower, but who knows?

At least it’s an improvement over what was there before, though.

    4.4 for SVU
4.2 for Chicago Fire…back down to where it was before the Voice. Maybe it’ll skew slightly younger, though?

Whitney got a 1.4 in the demo which is pathetic. I actually think of the two sophomore under performers Up All Night has a much better chance at a renewal as NBC support that show.
