UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – November 15, 2012 – “Days of our Lives” has equaled an 11-week high in women 18-49 and matched its best women 18-34 rating in nearly a year, according to “live plus same day” ratings results for the week of November 5-9 from Nielsen Media Research.

For the week, "Days of our Lives" averaged a 0.9 rating, 6 share among women 18-49 and a 0.6 rating among women 18-34, to tie for #6 among network daytime series in the women 18-49 demographic and tie for #4 in the women 18-34 race.

"Days" matched its top women 18-49 rating since August 20-24 and equaled its highest women 18-34 rating since the week of November 21-15, 2011.

Season to date, "Days of our Lives" is tied for #3 in the women 18-49 category and tied for #4 in the women 18-34 demo. In total viewers, "Days" is up this season versus last by 4 percent (2.6 million vs. 2.5 million).

Note that several daytime programs, including “Days of our Lives,” had shorter durations on Friday, Nov. 9, due to a Presidential press event.

Ratings reflect “live plus same day” data from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of “live plus seven day” data except for the two most recent weeks, which are “live plus same day.”

Uh, yeah. Because I was flipping through the channels while I was sick yesterday (I kid you not) and discovered two smoking hot cuties kissing… Now Days is set to DVR on my box because they have definitely caught my eye.

Ha! Great timing for a sick day. You witnessed Days first-ever gay sex scene. It was steamy!

Sonny and Will are Days Power Couple

  • Reed

I think Sonny and Will is really going to help out this show.

Nick & Gabi are like a mini-version of Bo & Hope.

That’s the problem on DAYS the younger cast is being done right but the older cast are in boring storylines.

Extremely happy for DAYS and GH recent successes. Looks like the last 4 soaps won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

  • Ionah

Yeah. I watched again today, skipped the commercials and boring parts (really like that Sammy girl though…), and just enjoyed the eye candy. I can see myself watching more episodes and I’ve been anti-soap forever. There are some really good looking fellas on there. LOL.

Seems like Days might be changing with the times in a way that will keep them around a bit longer than the rest.

Yessssss this is great news I just hope it goes up more for renewal

It is nice to see GH and DOOL praised in a way. I am a Y&R and DOOL fan and I have to say it pleases me to see Y&R getting no praise. That show is horrible. I do not think DOOL is that great, but it is certainly better in my opinion. The acting on DOOL is leagues better. Y&R was untouchable for so long, but it has been bad for way too long. It is time for it to get a huge facelift. I am not impressed with the “new” writers. They are going to have to do a lot better. I am still not watching any part of that show. Pitiful! Come on soaps! Bring me back! You are on my DVR, but I am not watching very much. Give me a reason!

  • I like this show

DOOL still blows…this time its literally HAHAHA.

YES YES I really like Will and Sonny, Hope they all keep up the great work, has done an amazing job on the story line continue to keep us happy and on our toes and I will love it even more

DOOL is safe since the targeted demo so approves (YES!). Get a kick trying to figure out if Marlena’s eyes are opened or closed & remember so many of them in their “younger days.” Sammi is still as wild as ever & I like Kristen’s return. I can’t believe Will & Sonny storyline (daytime has come a long way, baby!) and Will has impregnated Gabi (you kids should be more honest with each other–the truth is always the best route!)–but that wouldn’t be any fun!

If anyone thinks that soaps are safe just because the numbers are up some right now, they need to caution themselves from celebrating too early.

Look around The Talk and The Chew are up too. Other talk shows are up and doing better. Let’s Make a Deal was reported last week to be up from last year.

All these shows were experiments by the networks and they are much cheaper. With them being up on a low budget means a lot. It also means that the soaps have to be up even more.

But all of them whether they be a talk show or soap or game show, a few weeks up won’t help. They have to sustain these ratings and not follow the pattern of the last few years where a story peaks and ratings go up or a couple sleeps together and ratings go up — and then when it is all over they tune back out. Sustained ratings that are up is what will save the soaps.

I am a long long time fan of Days. Love the Will and Sonny storyline. Love the new infusion to the show. The actors all seem to like and care for eachother. That is why you get a family feeling to the show. You become part of their family. The Horton tree decatrating tradition the reading of the Christmas story at the hospital, traditions that make you feel part of their lives. Days has the best actors and storys. Great seeing the numbers reflect that. NBC please keep supporting my family.
