You can see TV ratings from other recent Overnight ratings reports here.

Definitions: Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

@BigBrotherFan The Kardashians have haters but they have a ton of HUGE fans too!

How are you so sure that people watch the show and discuss it online? I believe, very few people, not even 10% of the viewers post on message boards.
Supernatural has 10 million likes on Facebook. I doubt if even 1 million post on the message boards. A lot of my friends watch the show online, but none of them bother to discuss it online. Or an episode of Supernatural is hardly a topic of our group discussion.

That is why I strongly believe message board opinions are no way a reflection of the opinions of all the viewers of the show. They are usually extremist opinions.

Also, I forgot to add one more point. I really really doubt how many posters on message boards are from Nielsen families.

Christina deserves to win something I guess because Britney has been destroying her at everything else for years. There is no comparison really! Britney is looking more youthful and sexy than ever and well… I won’t say what Christina looks like now lol

Sorry I disagree with you. SHould CW be content with just doing well on Wed. They are bombing on Monday and Tuesday. Supernatual can get rating of 0.7-0.9 without Arrow’s help. They can easily move it to Monday and Tuesday.

I understand your point and I don’t disagree with it in theory. It’s just using TVD as a launch pad really hasn’t paid off yet, so I’m not inclined to think there are good odds trying to do it with Arrow. And the CW is in such a precarious situation I think they should hold onto the solid ratings they do have, rather than risk losing them as well. For all we know, Arrow is also benefitting from having Supernatural as its lead-out, and wouldn’t be getting such high ratings without the pairing, and thus wouldn’t be a good launch pad for another show.

Also, my opinion may be coloured by the fact I don’t want Supernatural to be the workhorse again and get shunted about and get the shaft in this deal. It earned the spot it has.

big jump for the x factor :O

  • BigBrotherFan

Yeah but I cant help but say 80% of them are fans of Kim. I do not watch the show (KARDASHIANS). I don’t follow the show. I do, however, read articles about her in the magazines and watch her interviews from time to time. Her interview with Allan Carr THE CHATTY man was down right jokes! Chloe doesn’t really have that appeal. I think that choice really did hurt simons BRAND.

BYE Whitney..you didn`t deserve a second season in the first place

  • Nikki

one good night on the C W doesnt mean a damn thing. Every night sucks besides last night.

  • coolioni

Yeah for Supernatural! Awesome episode. Its great to see Amanda Tapping on TV again. I think she should bring a lot of the stargate crowd with her once the word gets out that she is on the show now. I was surprised that they did not advertise that Amanda Tapping was going to be on the show
its great to see it hit season high numbers in the middle of the season
This shoes that its definatly gaining momentum!

  • robin

the CW shouldn’t use any shows to launch their new shows. their new shows need to be self starers like TVD and arrow was

  • RG-X

Agreed! Carson Daily is okay – but better than X-Factor

Carson needs to step up his intro during the “Battle Rounds”
He has this LARGE GRAND intro of the two contestants coming to the ring – and then in a monotone voice:

    “let the battle begin” Zzzzzzz

  • Kangarookeeper

    X-Factor is rubbish.

  • Emerald

I don’t care what anybody says but Voice is a snoozefest it takes itself way too seriously.

X Factor doesn’t take itself seriously and is entertaining and funny all the way through. X Factor knows its a hot mess but at the end of the day I would rather watch the hot mess than a show that believes its doing something seriously when its just a karokeefest.

The only thing I like about The Voice is that its helped NBC this seasonget out of 4th place.

  • Rebecca

Haven’t watched Whitney or SPN yet but am now looking forward to catching up online today or tomorrow, esp SPN. Middle did well last night, that’s good. Still enjoying MF and GWK, too. I think Whitney could have ended with its season one finale, but at the very least I hope it helps GWK over time. I wish Cougar Town could have stayed on ABC after MF. Not a fan of the other Wednesday ABC comedies at all. Move something back over from Tuesday (like HE) – I have too many good shows on that night anyway, lol.

  • Jonathan

@Emerald The X Factor is much more entertaining! The Voice has no creativity to it’s performances at all. X Factor is the most fun show to watch on television! Plus, Britney Spears looks so sexy! X-Tina looks like a mess all the time lol

Sorry, but I didn’t have time to read through all the comments….jessh, 10 pages already! Robert must be a happy camper!

I hate seeing Chicago Fire and SVU in ratings purgatory. I think SVU is much better this season and I am hoping that Chicago Fire can bounce back, but with Sarah Shahi (who might become the new TV cancellation jinx girl) guest apperance my superstitious beliefs are in overdrive.

FYI FANS. I met Kelli Giddish and Richard Belzer by chance on a break in NYC…Rich is a scream, that guy can make a joke about a light pole sound funny! And Kelli is a very petite lady, gorgeous, and whatever perfume she was wearing had me just ooozing.

I’m not as down as other people are about Whitney and Guys with Kids. Those numbers should’ve been way bigger but think about it though its more about the future of these two shows than it was about it last night which will come and go and be forgotten. Had Whitney opened huge like it did in January, it wouldn’t matter if Whitney was going to back to these ratings the following weeks anyways. Whitney and Guys with Kids are probably better off in this position for right now than higher.

There’s a chance for both shows to grow because this season for Whitney is going to be about growing its audience. The dedicated fanbase shows its against like Survivor, X Factor, and The Middle are about to go on hiatus soon in December. I think X Factor is going to be on until the week before Christmas. There’s going to be Christmas specials and reruns so that’s the time when these comedies should grab viewers and try to keep some of them. I remember last year Whitney had some bigger weeks when the competition was in reruns but the problem was they didn’t keep most of those viewers.

Both shows are still relatively new to the game even though Whitney is in its sophomore season it still hasn’t had a run yet. They still need help and sampling opportunities and NBC is going to have to help them out by letting them settle in and gain momentum. Let the people come to them. The only week I wouldn’t air them is the night after Christmas. I think these two shows have what it takes to draw massive audiences in the future its just going to be a slow growth but the question is if NBC is patient. If NBC is going to have a two-hour comedy block their going to need to be patient sometimes it works out better to be patient instead of impatient.

Last Night The X Factor has 3 Trending Worldwide every 5 minutues during the show

I’d love to know the age groups of people watching Arrow – for so many total viewers the demo is low. Still great for the show though, and for SPN.

Really enjoying Chicago Fire – didn’t think I would, I never normally watch that kind of show, but I’m hooked. Just hope it can rise a little, or at least not fall any more.

Interested to see tomorrow’s numbers, especially TVD’s. The final Twilight movie is having it’s midnight release tonight. It could potentially hurt a few shows, but I worry for TVD in particular due to the quite obvious overlap in theme, and therefore likely fans. I think a drop is probably likely, I just hope it’s no more than a couple of demo points. Of course it being on at 8 might help it, people could do both, although apparently a load of theatres are doing their ‘midnight’ release at 10PM.
