LOL! Whitney’s back…and with the usual crapfest numbers. :-)

supernatural’s last season was so bad… this season tries to fix this with somewhat better episodes, but for me it leaves a bad taste due to that awful 7th season… i think supernatural needs a few more people added to the cast as regulars , because having only 2 people starring and castiel as guest star makes it boring…

  • Moe

Yay, Supernatural kept it’s 1.0!! Woot!!

Now can someone explain to me why Marc Berman keeps sayig the show deserves to be canceled because it’s getting horrible ratings? This site wasn’t updated yet this morning so I read his post and freaked out because he made it sound like the show had tanked, and that it was so much lower than Arrow. Yet it was only .2 below Arrow and by far still the CW’s #3 show. So what the heck? What is his problem?

  • SueP

ACoolioni – RSH said Arrow was a filler episode, not SPN. As much as I loved Amanda Tapping in Stargate, I don’t think she has the star power to raise the ratings. I would love it if she did, but I don’t see it. Still, she is a very welcome addition to the cast.

@Moe – Berman doesn’t seem to like (or get) genre shows. I remember him trouncing all over Angel predicting it’s doom for years when it was never in any danger. He seems to be more into reality shows like AI and Survivor. His column is written from the fast overnight data which doesn’t include any real numbers. Do yourself a favor and just wait another hour and these gentlemen will give you actual numbers without the hyperbole thrown in.

Reading of Berman only leads to confusion.

Get out while you still can. ;)

As to why he thinks Supernatural should be canceled, simple, he’s a retentionista.

Arrow is the best new show! and it’s still here, and retaining a strong showing. go Arrow!

  • Nikki

As soon as Arrow has its break the numbers will drop youll see…

  • joe

stupid people stop watching big bang and start watching modern family

  • POIFanatic

@Peter: Supernatural has brought back Cas to our world and it has made Benny, Crowley, Naomi, Kevin and his mom an intrinsic part of the storyline which looks strong. I don’t think we’re watching the same show. SPN never had any regulars other than Jensen, Jared and during later seasons, Misha. It doesn’t need to add regulars just for the sake of it.

  • POIFanatic

@Nikki: The flip side of the coin works in this case as well. Arrow has a small enough fanbase that its viewership could increase after a hiatus like cable shows since its maintaining quality storytelling. It doesn’t need to get astronomical numbers to stay on air like most genre shows on the Big 4. I think it’ll be just fine.

I dont know what you are talking about Bill. SVU final key demo was 1.74 and that is what I saw.You just posted it here.

  • arik

wat supernatural rockssssssssss whitneys not soo cool arrows awesome hope this happens

supernatural gets 3 million people and arrow 5 m also modern family good

  • Moe

    @SueP and @Bill G
Thanks so much for the replies! Yea, I definitely will NOT read him again, cause wow, did he sure make his own reality out of those numbers! The way he was putting it, it sounded like Supernatural had tanked down to a .6 or .7 and it freaked me out. Yet it was still a 1.0! Oy. I don’t get why he can’t be more professional. I mean, isn’t that his job, to judge the ratings based on the numbers, not on whether he likes the show or not?

@Bill With Marc even being a Retentionista, wouldn’t only a .2 difference between the shows still be considered a good retention number? I mean, most times B&TB is a good 50% lower than TVD, .7 compared to a 1.4 or 1.5. So I would think a 1.2 and a 1.0 show would be considered “good” retention.

Or do I just not understand retention right?

  • omabin

I am really surprised with CSI. It even looks like it has a shot of beating Revolution and become the 10pm show. 2.0 is now renewed for 10pm, which makes 2.5 a massive hit. Impressive for a show in its age.

  • POIFanatic

@omabin: Wednesday at 10 barely has any competition. Even with higher production costs, CBS will probably renew CSI just because they have no new hits this season and H50 crashed as well. H5O will survive, but its not in a good position now. Will be interesting to see Elementary’s numbers.

  • Restless

    @POIFanatic & Peter

Plus Amelia, Garth and especially Bobby, gone but shouldn’t be forgotten. :P And I think Samandriel merits a mention, the poor bastard.

I half way agree with Peter. Not about adding more cast obviously (though I’m not complaining, I like most of the new characters), but that the last season was so bad I can’t get as into Supernatural as I used to anymore. I keep waiting for the big letdown on this current crop of stories (and for Cas to be killed off yet again now that he’s back, natch). I’m guessing Peter doesn’t care about the main characters anymore, hence why they want new ones. But all the new characters in the world couldn’t bring me to watch another season seven. Thankfully it has been a pretty good season so far. At the very least I don’t find myself hate watching the show and I’m rooting for Sam and Dean both again lol

  • POIFanatic

@Restless: Damn! I love Amelia (probably the only guy who loves her. Lol)! And Garth is great. How could I forget them! Even at its lowest point, Supernatural remains more entertaining than most of the other shows. I hated season 7 when compared to the rest of Supernatural, but was only truly bored when the Leviathans made an appearance. This season has been awesome so far and they even managed to make Leviathans cool!

  • THE OLD MAN

    CSI 2.5! Go CBS!

  • MichaelS

So excited for CSI…2.5!! Awesome for a show in its 13th season. CBS would be wise to renew this….It is the highest rated show across the globe, with millions of dollars coming in from syndication and international networks.

Really hope ABC will make a wise decision and move The Neighbors to Fridays and establish a 2 hour comedy block, with SHark Tank closing the night. I betcha ABC would win in the demo. 20/20 can go to Saturdays or something for all I care, it brings down ABC’s demo anyway.

NBC: Please Cancel Whitney and bring back Community!! Whitney should’ve been cancelled last season…

  • Baaa!

Axl Heck don’t trust her. Cassidy murdered her applesauce store partner on Bones a couple of weeks ago!!! Yey for The Middle!!!
