The Cancellation Bear is beginning his Thanksgiving feast a week early. Just a few hours after the cancellation of Partners, two more shows have been axed. Per The Hollywood Reporter, ABC has canceled its freshman dramas Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue. Each show will air all 13 episodes that were shot, but will not continue beyond episode 13, despite the additional scripts that were ordered. There is already some speculation that Nashville could take over 666 Park Avenue's time period. We will post more details as they become available.

    No surprise, tbh.

Oh well, at least it’s finally official and the writers got a heads-up. If the shows end on a cliffhanger, ABC won’t be the one to blame.

  • Michael

    RIP 666 Park Avenue!

  • Anon

The only surprise here is that Mob Doctor outlived them both.

  • Kyle

    BOO!

I really really liked Last Resort. To bad. It was a great show that got stuck in a BAD timeslot.

  • buddhaboi

lol. i had just voted for mob dr on the poll for which show would be cancelled next. the bear can wait….the bear can wait..circling the tree..

It was bound to happen. I hope both series write proper finales (and i hope ABC airs them unlike they did with The Whole Truth 2 seasons ago).

Good day for the Bear… Four cancellations in a day… The poor guy had been starving for so long that I wondered if it was going to make it another week without a meal. Luckily he found his legs again and manage to catch up to some worthwhile meals…. The bear, however, must be wondering what he has to do to taste the nice “Mob Doctor” morsel.

    NO, DEAR GOD!
i’M GOING TO KILL MYSELF, I’M SERIUS I’M GONNA GET A KNIFE AND CUT MY WRISTS I CAN’T HANDLE THIS, I WANT TO DIE…. btw Buy “LOTUS” – Christina Aguilera’s new album, it’s SO good.

  • Brent

looks like the bear has gotten a good meal today. Three shows cancelled and its not even dinner time yet… (sorry i know this was cheesy)

  • Kavyn

Not surprised, but *sigh*. They were both my favourite new shows from ABC. Oh well, hopefully they get a good bunch, IMO they seem to pick up the best pilots during pilot season.

At least we get the remaining episodes. I hope they conclude properly, those two additional scripts they got early on I would hope are rewrites to properly conclude the show.

  • Michael

The bear seriously just had an early Thanksgiving feast!

OK, really good day for CBS and………..tv by the numbers. Great CBS and ABC headlines FROM tuesday. Whoever write them deserve promotion:

CBS: ‘Partners’ Is Certain To Be Canceled, Why Didn’t It Get Pulled For ‘Rules Of Engagement’ Already?

ABC: ‘Last Resort’ & ‘666 Park Avenue’ Are Certain To Be Canceled, Why Are They Still On The Air?

    *sob*

    Farewell Last Resort.

I do hope I get to see all your episodes and hope there is at least some type of closure.

(but you *really* dropped the ball with last nights episode…holy hell what was that writers?)

I’m really starting to give up on television as a whole. I understand there are rising costs associated with producing television. Networks need to give shows a chance. So of the longest running and biggest shows were not hit shows in the first season, or even second season. I’m getting tired of decent shows being canceled because a network like ABC (owned by Di$ney) cannot bleed a little cash every now and then in order to keep people employed and give shows a chance.

  • Kyle

Well at least I can skip watching Last Resort. No point.

  • darius

The Bear won t be satisfaid unless Cbs feeds him Vegas!

  • CrystallBall

The bear has to eat before winter !

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ Brent

    Cheesy but true.

  • Tim

I like Last Resort very very much.
