The Cancellation Bear is beginning his Thanksgiving feast a week early. Just a few hours after the cancellation of Partners, two more shows have been axed. Per The Hollywood Reporter, ABC has canceled its freshman dramas Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue. Each show will air all 13 episodes that were shot, but will not continue beyond episode 13, despite the additional scripts that were ordered. There is already some speculation that Nashville could take over 666 Park Avenue's time period. We will post more details as they become available.

    @The_End

It’s not a matter of whether or not they have a Nielsen box to actually effect the ratings.

I just find it rather silly for someone to huff and puff and hold their breath and say, “I’m not going to bother watching this new show until I have a GUARANTEE that there are 22+ episodes for me to watch!”

If everyone, hypothetically, had that same attitude — then zero new shows would end up getting renewed.

@frank: That should have made it clear why LR is a mediocre show. Its uneven and full of flaws, character inconsistencies, fake dramatic moments. No matter how much you shout that the execs are like the mafia, the truth of the matter is, Nielson or not, nobody is watching. It dropped to almost half of its initial ratings in just 5 episodes. That’s not a sign of progress. Cancellation was justified. Now, just shut up.

@John: network exec are like a mafia just like bankers, that is a fact. And FBI should put all of them in jail, they are all corrupted. These managers are doing dirty business 24/7 and not helping the economy at all. They destroy the economy with their dirty actions each single day.
Maybe you are a network employee getting so emotional on the subject but I can’t care less, you wanting me to shut up it’s beyond silly. No, you don’t have any power on me or anyone else, I won’t shut up as per your will.

Last Resort. Story line was way out there. I spent 30 years as a Submarine radio operator on boats.
If ABC is gonna make a series about subs, get an expert to advise them.

To be replaced by 2 more boring and generic cop shows…

You must be confusing ABC with CBS. There are relatively few law enforcement shows on ABC.

I like Last Resort but with the plot they had I didnt see how it could continue more than 2 to 3 seasons at the most. But overall I liked the show it wasn’t in a good time slot. ABC needs to cancel some of the reality shows they have.

We are not losing anything by losing these shows. Last Resort could have worked better than it did, but it just wasn’t that good an idea. And I’ve never seen the other show, but I can’t wonder if it was anything but lame. And Partners was a pointless show as well, by the way.

  • smilee

that’s not fair it was a good suspense show and they want to cancel program
there are too many reality shows& numorous cook that are worthless cancel some of those shows on another hand if alot of people tuned in to the show they would have had better ratings

Actually, I wasn’t referring to any one specific network. I meant on all the stations.

PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL THE LAST RESORT OR REVOLUTION…..THESE ARE SOME OF THE BEST TV SERIES IN A LONG TIME….SERIOUSLY GET RID OF THE VOICE…TWO N A HLF MEN…. and DANCING WITH THE STARS….. PLEASE…. SERIOUSLY WHO VOTES ON THIS??

  • Chris

Why dont they just put american idol on every channell and every time slot with repeats of commercials every other 5 mins. They dont even care abou tmaking shows anymore its just one bigsponsered advertising marsthon in hopes of marketing to the most idiots all at one time

  • DragonsDream

Shawn Ryan has promised a kickass finale to Last Resort (unarguably the best new network show this season), so I’m happy. I will take a great 13 episode miniseries, with a proper ending to a full season or more that ends on a season finale cliffhanger then gets canceled

  • Joseph

I wonder if ABC’s gonna get anything to work on Sunday at 10 ever since they cancelled Brothers & Sisters.

  • Steve

Sucks they canceled last resort. Really good show. But what do you expect when your show is on ABC. ABC seems to allways cancel the good shows. I hate you ABC I hope your executives all die of Aids and your kids get aids as well. ABC sucks ass

  • Britt

I agree with Scott. Might as well not watch tv at all. Networks leave the crap on tv & take off the good shows. Once they pick up a show at least give it until the end of the 2nd season. I tried to watch Nashville & it was horrible, I just can’t believe a generic show like that is being considered a “replacement” for 666. Hopefully soon people will get tired of the networks getting them stuck on shows just to dump them a few episodes in & they will stop watching.

  • Steven

Too bad, I liked both series. I like thriller / horror so I really liked 666 and thought Last Resort was a nice war / drama series. Well at least we have The Walking Dead and American Horror Story.

  • mike

I agree with Scott’s reply. Why don’t they give shows a chance anymore. We love the 666 Park Ave. in our household.

  • Alex

Just started watching “Last-Resort” and i cant believe how awesome it is (started watching it 8 hours ago and am now caught up). But Of Course ABC decides they can live without it, well i cant. I refuse to believe i just wasted my time choosing who i like and dont like as well as watching the characters develop. Please dont limit the show to a season, give it a chance with season 2. Hell if you dont like where it goes in season 2 you have my permission to NUKE IT!
