The Cancellation Bear is beginning his Thanksgiving feast a week early. Just a few hours after the cancellation of Partners, two more shows have been axed. Per The Hollywood Reporter, ABC has canceled its freshman dramas Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue. Each show will air all 13 episodes that were shot, but will not continue beyond episode 13, despite the additional scripts that were ordered. There is already some speculation that Nashville could take over 666 Park Avenue's time period. We will post more details as they become available.

i don’t believe that the mob doc outlasted them both. not saying ones cancelled doesn’t mean that it lives. mob is running its batch and moving on. i have a feeling that this is going to be the norm for some shows.

Last Resort was always going to be a hard sell for ABC. There is not a timeslot that would have been any easier for it.

Wow, the Cancellation Bear devoured two shows at once.
And 3 in one day 11/16/2012.

‘Partners’ Canceled by CBS and ‘Last Resort’ and ‘666 Park Avenue’ Canceled by ABC today.
Wow, the Cancellation Bear is running wild, Go Cancellation Bear Go, there are a lot more shows for you

What is the record for canceled shows in one day or a week?

I say 4 shows will be cancelled before the next week is over.

I wish ABC had the gall to try something different. This season has been a mess, so they might as well get a little creative.

This is what I would do:

    Tuesdays (Jan-March)

    8pm – Wife Swap
9pm – Body of Proof (special preview Sun @ 10)
    10pm – Nightline – Primetime Edition

    Tuesdays (March-May)

    8pm – DWTS Results
    9pm – Zero Hour
    10pm – Nightline – Primetime Edition

    8pm – The Middle
    8:30pm – Suburgatory
    9pm – Modern Family
9:30pm – How to Live with Your Parents

8pm – Happy Endings + Don’t Trust the B (they’re pretty much stuck with these through spring)

8pm – Last Man Standing + Malibu Country
9pm – (after Shark Tank wraps) – The Neighbors + Family Tools

    vote LR for PCA!!

@Dan would you move a show that is rating well out of a timeslot for a show that isn’t? That’s one reason they don’t. Another is block selling of advertisement (not all ads are purchased just for a show, rather it can be a timeslot etc). But really, it’s very rare that a timeslot change will save a show, usually it’s just the final nail in the coffin.

I’m gonna miss 666, i’ll keep watchjng even though a cliffhanger must be on its way :(

  • Greg

But Nashville moving to Sundays sounds like a good idea (if it’s not too late).

So I guess the LT should have kept her hair up after all.

    (will miss you Last Resort)

Can we post twitter comments here? If not, mods please delete.

Shawn Ryan via Twitter “News is true. No Back 9 for #LastResort. We will film and and air all 13 episodes. We’re going to give you no-holds barred kick-ass ending.”

So they have time to give us closure at least, a somewhat fitting end hopefully.

I’m in agreement with @Pinkle about:
Scandal for Sundays at 10. Body of Proof for Thursday at 8 and Nashville for Thursday at 10. As long as BBT and 2.5 men are on CBS at 8, ABC will not be able to make the 8 time slot a male skewed hour. They should make Thursdays a ladies nite type of block and promote the heck out of it. Scandal is much more compatible with Revenge than GA. It should be moved to Sundays.

  • Greg

People are jumping the gun with the Friday comedy block. The ratings fell half a ratings point from one week to the other and if it falls any further, I just don’t see the point of giving these two a back 9 and airing them over something like What Would You Do?, which does pretty much the same and it’s a lot cheaper.

@Tom “Mistresses” – another show that will get cancelled

Oh, GOD, it’s like Threat Matrix all over again. It was awesome, but no one watched.

Add another to the list of victims to that slot since 1982. A list that now includes:

Last Resort, Missing, Charlie’s Angels, My Generation, The Deep End, Flashforward, In The Motherhood, Samantha Who, Miss/Guided, Alias, Jake In Progress (don’t let that one Monday @ 9:30 ep in 2006 tell you otherwise!), Threat Matrix, Vengeance Unlimited, Nothing Sacred, High Incident, Charlie Grace, My So-Called Life, Missing Persons, Delta, Room For Two, Pros and Cons, Father Dowling Mysteries, the 1988 reboot of Mission: Impossible, Knightwatch, Probe, The Charmings, Sledge Hammer!, Our World, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, Shadow Chasers, The Fall Guy, Wildside, People Do The Craziest Things, Two Marriages, Automan, Trauma Center, Condo, The New Odd Couple, Benson, Amanda’s, The Greatest American Hero, Joanie Loves Chachi, Star Of The Family and Mork and Mindy

“Seriously, don’t these network honchos take a look at these pilots??

That is a good question. So many of the new shows were awful, anyone could tell they would fail.

  • Flarikker

Maybe…Last Resort fans….CW will pick it up and pair it with Nikita on Friday’s. Now that would be a LAST RESORT move! LOL.

  • r0ckmypants

@One – That’s a scary list for that timeslot… I forgot how many of those shows I liked, and a few I even loved.

  • Rob

ABC, you suck. I was DVring both The Last Resort and 666.

  • a p garcia

If Nashville takes 666 place, I would like to see Vanessa Williams move to Nashville and sing country! She is a good actress and an even better singer!

  • bluejays

@One. I’ll miss your posts on Last Resort way more than the show itself, highly amusing :)
