Season Three To Include Guest Stars Matt LeBlanc, Meg Ryan & Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Among Others

LOS ANGELES, CA (November 16, 2012) – SHOWTIME has ordered a third season of WEB THERAPY, the web-to-television comedy series starring Emmy® Award winner Lisa Kudrow. Season three will include ten, half-hour episodes and air on the network in 2013.

"We're shooting webisodes right now, and it's just so much fun to do,” says Kudrow. “These actors we get to play with are so inventive and nimble and FUNNY. We're beyond thrilled to get a third season on SHOWTIME because it's such a good fit."

Some of the biggest names in film and television including current SHOWTIME star and Golden Globe® Award winner Matt LeBlanc (Episodes); Meg Ryan (You’ve Got Mail); and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family) will be featured as guest stars – along with more celebrities to be announced soon. Kudrow will continue in her role as the delusional and narcissistic online therapist “Fiona Wallice,” who treats patients in three-minute sessions via webcam.

Last season included an extraordinary guest star list featuring Meryl Streep, David Schwimmer, Rosie O’Donnell, Conan O’Brien, Molly Shannon, Minnie Driver, and Lily Tomlin, among others. Entertainment Weekly ranked WEB THERAPY number one on their Must List, calling it a “whip-smart series.” Additionally, last year’s web version garnered an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Special Class - Short-format Live-Action Entertainment Programs.

WEB THERAPY is created by Kudrow, Don Roos & Dan Bucatinsky for Is or Isn’t Entertainment. Bucatinsky will also return in his role as “Jerome,” Fiona's meek, but ambitious, assistant. Roos continues to serve as director.

WHAT? This show has around 100 viewers. -_-

  • John A

Ridiculous it barly registered. Does it have Emmy love or something?

  • J.G.

If you look at it, it’s an easy proposition for Showtime. It’s independently produced so Showtime only really pays for acquisition.

  • Tommy

Seems like a nobrainer to me. I mean the thing has to cost less than $20,000 an episode if not half of that. Very cheap way to fill in spots and bring a few extra eyeballs.

  • Ryann

What are teh ratings for this show?

  • John A

Extra Eyeballs? It has like 50,000 viewers lol

I love this show. Showtime will keep renewing it for as long as Kudrow wants it on the air because, like someone said, the webisodes are pre-shot so it’s not like it costs Showtime all that much. The ratings are all but irrelevant here.

  • phil

if my memory is good Web Therapy had a little more than 100.000 viewers and the rating down until 75.000 or less but the ratings are not big and stays around 100.000.

It is an outstanding show in an odd sort of way. Very different, but it completely works.

  • Greg

Now that Weeds is gone, they should pair this show with Episodes and create a Friends block.

  • Den

Season 2’s ratings were up 21% from season 1. So not surprised. It’s slowly building an audience

I love web therapy so this is good news to me! specially today that i lost 2 shows i like (666 Park Avenue and Partners). i didn’t know their ratings were bad i guess they renewed it because it’s cheap, most of the scenes are filmed in a small room and kudrow has a lot of famous celebrity friends willing to guest star on her show. You should give it a try, it’s not a traditional comedy, it’s something else!

This show is one of those undiscovered gems.Very funny and overlooked.I still have to catch up with most of the second season, but I’m glad that they are getting a third.

And Lisa Kudrow is great on this show.

  • Desperate Houseboy

it’s really different show and it has like no cost.no surprise here.

  • Teresa

I absolutely love this show! As long as it’s on, I will definitely be watching it!

  • Justin121

Lisa Kudrow is great on anything and everything.
