Which New Broadcast TV Show Will Be Canceled Next? (Poll)

Just 4 hours after our last "Which New Broadcast Show Will Be Canceled Next?" poll, both 666 Park Avenue and Last Resort were canceled by ABC. 666 Park Avenue was #2 in that poll, while Last Resort was #4. The season's dinner menu for the Cancellation Bear has also included Partners, Made In Jersey, Animal Practice, Private Practice, and Next Caller.

Which show will be next on the menu of the Cancellation Bear?

I've also added the "A show not on this list" option if you think a veteran show will be canceled next.

Better to Follow The Bear, Than Be Chased By Him. This season you can follow the Cancellation Bear on Twitter via @TheCancelBear. The Cancellation Bear will retweet all the Renew/Cancel Index post titles and links as well as engage in a little more back and forth banter than we do on our standard @TVbytheNumbers Twitter feed.

Because comment thread lawyers are everywhere, let's be clear that for the purposes of this poll "canceled" means removed from its initially scheduled timeslot, either off the air entirely or rescheduled to a burn off timeslot, even if the network *claims* the show will return later (two seasons ago those who answered The Whole Truth in the "next to be canceled" poll ended up being correct, it was removed first among the shows noted and never returned, despite initial ABC claims to the contrary).

What's your guess?

Vote as many times as you want!

I find this absurd bias that you have to CW.Sou Brazil and everyone loves the CW here.

    Emily Owens or Mob Doctor.

  • Carmen

The Mob Doctor (1st) and Emily Owens (2nd) should be the betting choices, but I’ll go with a hunch and say it will be Ben and Kate.

  • Starship

The Mob Doctor obviously. I doubt there’ll be any more cancellations after that before the mid-season shows start premiering and they start cancelling them. Emily MD will probably air all its episodes, and even if they don’t extend the order, The CW will wait until May to announce its fate, seeing as how Carrie Diaries and Cult might bomb even worse and Nikita might fall to numbers that get it either moved to summer (to reach syndication) or cancelled. Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apt. 23 will get cancelled sooner or later (more likely sooner than later), it might be in the second season but last season was only 7 episodes and they’re still airing left-overs. Come May, Vegas and most likely Nashville and Malibu Country will probably be goners as well. Happy Endings will either be salvaged for syndication or hopefully get the Cougar Town treatment and move to TBS to happily live out the rest of its days.

I can’t see Fox giving B&K an early cancellation. New Girl repeats would do much worse and they don’t have enough episodes of The Goodwin Games to replace it this early.

Apt 23 only has a 13 episode order, and filming must almost be complete on those episodes.

I think they might try moving HE/A23 before making a final decision. Incredibly tough timeslots.

i’m enjoying both emily owens and mob doctor…so i’m not going to be happy either way…i voted mob doctor since i like eo a bit better…

  • s0303

btw…chicago fire is missing from the list.

  • psychic

I can say with certainty it WON’T be Arrow, Revolution, or Elementary.

  • Barbie

I’m very happy about their optimist on Chicago Fire hahaha! <3 Kidding! Though, since its ratings are about 0.1 down from SVU, I don't think it'll be canceled right away.

  • Justin

    Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23.

@Josh – How reliable is that source? If The New Normal was picked up for a full season, but I have yet to hear anything about a Season 2 renewal. Honestly, I HIGHLY doubt they would ALREADY renew the show. The show hasn’t even finished it’s first 13 episodes. It got a back 9, but we normally do not get renewals this early… So I’m not too sure about that. Unless TVBytheNumbers has already reported this (or any other very reliable source) and I just missed it, I don’t believe that The New Normal has already been renewed for a 2nd season. That is very unlikely, in my opinion.

I picked Emily Owens only because I assume Mob Doctor is only sticking around because of some technicality the ratings junkies would know about far more than I would. Also, all the other shows are so similar to each other, might as well pick the odd woman out, on the same theory that when you are picking people to be on your team, and the last dozen or so seem equally bad, something special besides poor athletic ability – off-center facial features, halitosis, having an unpopular opinion – will cause one of them to be picked dead last.

It will have to be one of the Medical shows, either The Mob Doctor or Emily Owens MD since every other show has either gotten more episodes or been cancelled by now. Malibu Country is the only exception but my guess is that ABC will give the show a full season due to its good LMS retention. All the shows that have gotten more episodes but are considered on the bubble will likely be cancelled by May.

Emily Owens was recently thought to be axed after it was leaked by one of its stars but CW has denied it. My guess is that CW will give it more episodes up to 18 for the season so it can air with HOD through May. If EOMD gets more episodes than my guess is that CW will move BATB to Fridays at 9 to air with Nikita so they can air Cult post Vampire Diaries. If Emily Owens gets axed than I expect CW to move BATB to Tuesdays at 9 and Cult will still air post Vampire Diaries. Either way if Emily Owens gets cancelled I expect CW to air all 13 episodes. My final guess is an order for 5 more episodes over cancellation.

Everyone on this site and on earth is surprised that The Mob Doctor has not been cancelled but whats more surprising is how the other bubble shows were cancelled first. My guess is since is hasn’t been pulled FOX will simply opt to not order the back 9 but like Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue they will air all 13 produced episodes until The Following premieres in January. I guess FOX didn’t want to pull any shows this fall because with dismal ratings for their other new shows Mindy Project and Ben & Kate FOX has given them full seasons.

  • Dan

@Justin – Under normal circumstances I’d expect Apartment 23 to be axed, hwoever ABC has 19 episodes total from this season, 6 leftover from last season and 13 Season 2 episodes. 3 episodes have aired leaving 16 to be aired. I expect ABC to burn through them all through March.

I smile when I read all your posts on mob dr – it’s funny how everyone is backpedaling on their past statements on the show – Why can’t you all just admit you we’re wrong ? I remember all your posts ! Predicting that it would cancel after week 2 Including the people who run this site ! Lets stop guessing why it’s not cancelled and watch the show ! (Terra nova’s not coming back or any other show ) It will finish shooting all 13 and will air all 13 so if you don’t like that you should keep watching your favorite show the voice then wait for the following to air so you can criticize that and predict when the cute little bear is gonna eat that up

I think the mob funded Mob Doctor and they’ve got something on Fox, so it will get a back nine and a second season, or Fox’ll sleep with the fishes, see?

  • were123

For some reason The Mob Doctor will continue to exist for a while, so I voted Emily Owens

  • Brian

Cops as Fox decides it needs the money from reruns more..

Seriously, Fox is watching this site and is not cancelling the Mob Doctor on purpose. Could be Emily Owens, but I predict that ABC will pull Don’t Trust Apartment 23 for reruns of Last Man Standing as they see if it will pull better ratings behind Happy Endings.

The Mindy Project is just awful and shows no signs of improvement. Kaling just cannot carry a series (write them, yes; be a fun supporting player, yes). It’s both embarrassing and disapointing.
