Could 'Revolution' Get a Thanksgiving Boost? (Poll)

Update: Looks like most of you were too optimistic! Revolution scored a 2.6, even with last week.

Last week, Revolution fell to a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating, after the previous week's 2.8 adults 18-49 rating (which was the first to fall below a 3.0).  The show seems to be running out of steam week-over-week, and with the kids home from school and families on vacation, is it even possible for Revolution to get the boost it needs this week?  Make your predictions below, and tell us why in the comments.

Isn’t viewers typically down this week on non-holiday programming? I said 2.6-2.7 and I thought I was being nice. :)

    H50: 2.0
    Castle: 2.1

    Bones: 2.2

2.4. I’m beginning to confuse ‘Revolution’ with ‘The Walking Dead’ on the theme of survival, even though TWD looks far more realistic.

  • Dennis

Even if It falls to a 1.8 before the season is out… its still getting renewed.
However I only see Revolution lasting for 2 seasons

  • Justin121

The moment it hit that 2.8, I figured it’d be hitting new lows week after week.

  • Fred

Hoping I’m wrong and it rises but I have a feeliing it will fall to a 2.5. People are busy for the holidays.

  • THE OLD MAN

    A new low, probably 2.4

  • David Berk

This show will go the way of “The Event” and so many other good shows.

  • Jay

New low. Bad week for TV ratings in general. Big football game tonight which will hurt it as well.

  • Charmed

2.5 or 2.4. I don’t live in America but I don’t think the TV is on during Thanksgiving unless it has something to do with Thanksgiving.

  • Ruan

    2.5, 2.6 or 2.7

I think that’s where it’ll stabilize and remain.

  • Nick

    Dancing with the Stars: 2.2
    Castle: 1.9

How I Met Your Mother: 2.9
    Two and a Half Men (R): 1.7
    2 Broke Girls: 3.3
    Mike & Molly: 2.9
    Hawaii Five-0: 1.9

    90210: 0.4 [ties series low]
Gossip Girl: 0.3 [ties series low]

    Bones: 2.0
The Mob Doctor: 0.8 [ties series low]

    The Voice: 4.1
    Revolution: 2.7

Revolution will have a slight rebound. I don’t think anything will be affected by Thanksgiving. I don’t think that it will really affect TV until Weds.

    Networks-
    1. NBC: 3.63
    2. CBS: 2.43
    3. ABC: 2.1
    4. Fox: 1.4
    5. The CW: 0.35

“Revolution” will ultimately go the way of “Jericho,” “Flash Forward,” “V” and “The Event,” i.e. spectacular early ratings that keep sinking, sinking, sinking until cancellation. And the sad part is, the show is falling into the same trap the aforementioned dead shows ALL fell into – namely storyline bleak creep! I was impressed with the early episodes of “Revolution,” but the show has gotten so damned depressing!! The bad guys get badder and more numerous, the underdogs never win, and the audience just gets clobbered with misery. WTF?!?! Our real lives are stressful enough with enough problems. TV is supposed to be “escapism,” NOT more depression. If the writers and producers don’t lighten “Revolution” up STAT and bring some happiness into this show, it will definitely be DOA by May. You’ve been warned !!

  • Oliver

MNF is pretty much a blowout, so that’s one less excuse for Revolution.

  • Dean

    Since its Thanksgiving: 2.6

I don’t think anybody should start writing it off though. Its still the highest rated new show every week. Its also greatly improving every time I see it, unlike the others in the genre. The bad guys are true to themselves and get progressively worse and that’s one of the refreshing things about it. Add me to the list of people who will recommend the hell out of this show to every friend and family during the hiatus.

To say people are turned off by the shows depressing premise makes as much sense as saying TWD is turning people off & yet it continues getting high ratings. I’m guessing it got 2.8-2.9 last night coming off its low. Can’t say how much help the show got with LZ music (not a fan) but it shouldn’t hurt either.

  • bluejays

Can’t even begin to guess. The ratings are all over the place this year. I doubt it will last beyond two seasons though as it’s pretty crap and eventually the ‘Hunger Games’ vibe shine will wear off and people will see it’s just a really bad show. (I say that sadly as I was a huge early days SPN fan).

Whether it goes up or down though I don’t think it will help HFO or Castle much, both struggling massively this year. HFO won’t be helped much by having 2.5 Men re-runs instead of partners (neither will 2bG’s – way to screw over a whole night CBS) and Castle has to struggle with the dire lead in that DWTS provides this year.

  • John

@bluejays: WTH has Hunger Games crap got anything to do with Revolution! Just because a girl can shoot an arrow doesn’t automatically make it Hunger Games-esque. Even TWD uses bows and arrows heavily. That’s just something naive people say to demean a good show.

  • Elizabeth

The show just keeps getting worse every week. The girl is a terrible actress, replace her and fast. Plus the show makes no sense, no one in my family will watch it. I watch it on DVR and fast forward most of the show, takes about 15 minutes.

You are right bluejays. “Revolution” has been losing viewers since episode 1, currently it lost 4 million since the premiere and I don’t see these viewers adding up to “Castle” or H50. Both shows have pretty steady demo and overall viewership all weeks.
