Does anyone else find it amusing that The Voice season low is still a few tenths higher than X Factor highest rating?

    “Viewership doesn’t mean anything.”

    Um, what???

  • omabin

I think the problem with CBS is that they cannot afford to loose both Two and a Half Men and How I Met Your Mother the same year. I still say that was the idea of moving two and a half men out of mondays now, avoiding loosing them both at the same time and leaving the night too exposde. That would require partners to work, but the move did make sense. I just think they failed in which show to move, i think they should have gone with mother to thursdays and left two and a half men at 9 on mondays for one more year. Yeah, big bang is the biggest lead-in on network tv, but loosing two monday shows at the same time would kill them. They look bad sans men, imagine it without mother at the same time…

Funny how the haters say Castle is 3rd again… yeah, and AGAIN, the show with more viewers!:) And before saying that it´s not important, thankfully I think ABC thinks it is:)
Wich gives me hope that I´ll have at least another season to enjoy… and you haters will have another season to bash… so I hope we all get what we want!:)

@Nate. I agree, I think CBS are looking at a few problems down the line. POI wasn’t a break out hit last year for them and this year it’s doing the same numbers so it is solid but not huge. Then this year their new shows have been very weak. Elementary the supposed big new show down to 2.2’s already with very weak competition.

Their comedies are either doing good numbers but ageing (Men) or weakening (except for BBT). Even their really big hits like NCIS have taken a big drop off this year compared to last year. I know that all the nets are down (with a few notable programming exceptions) but CBS cannot be happy with this years performance in general. Apart from Thursdays and fridays things aren’t too hot for them. (Of course the same can be said for ABC and Fox but that isn’t CBS’s concern).

    “Castle” vs. “H5O”

I don’t care which camp you’re in (really) but while you’re reloading for your next volleys, FYI:
After seven episodes competing against each other (and “Revolution”) the two shows are tied in the demo and tied at 2nd place behind “Revolution.” “Castle” would *win* a tie breaker if you averaged out the “1, 2, 3” place finishes with “Castle” having a 2.57 average and “H50” having a 2.47. “Castle” has the most viewers – of all three shows – but we all know that doesn’t really matter to advertisers, just the demo.

“Castle” (after the first 7 episodes)
2.01 average in the demo with an average of 10.40 million viewers/households.

“H5O” (after the first 7 episodes)
2.01 average in the demo with an average of 8.23 million viewers/households.

And before you ask, yes, I got the numbers from this site. You can go and gather them just like I did and do the math for yourselves if you don’t believe me. Carry on. :D

Did anyone else recognize Monroe as the lead from NBC’s The Cape?

  • Holly

Actually, I recognize him as ET from Sea Patrol.

  • thesnowleopard

I wonder if Gossip Girl will get a little bounce for its series finale? I’m thinking not, since it will be in December and there sure hasn’t been any final season bounce so far, but you never know.

  • AlexFan

@Tim, all I am going to say to that last remark from you is I feel sorry for you. I like to look at things on the positive side, that’s the way I live my life, I say please and thank you and don’t bad mouth anyone but if you want to live your life being bitter and calling names so be it, I just feel sorry for you. I don’t know about the PCA, I didn’t vote.

  • Holly

Actually, I recognize him as ET from Sea Patrol.

And looking at the imdb page for Sea Patrol, I realized where I knew the guy who plays Vincent on BATB from: He was Spider.

@Grey. Castle is doing well this season. People might think I’m crazy saying that (and I’m not a castle fan, don’t watch it). But it has a weak lead in, and it has more competition than any other ABC show at ten in Revolution and its held up good.

HFO is also doing better than most of CBS ten pm shows *if* you take into account the higher competition (Castle has huge overall viewer numbers for an ABC ten pm show and Revolution is the biggest ten pm NBC drama by a mile).

The upshot is that both HFO and Castle have to deal with way more competition than the other shows at ten on their respective nets.

They also don’t compete with one another at all so any posters spending their time analyzing which is ‘winning’ are wasting their lives. :)

  • Brian

Glad to see RVN steady :)

  • LOL

Congratulations to Nathan Fillion and Castle for being PCA nominees again !!
Sorry Alex and Hawaii 50 , you got nothing !! LOL

  • Ivy

Happy that HF0 doing better. Love that Alex O’L.

  • omabin

I agree with bluejays. The raw-numbers in themselves would leave both Castle and 5-0 as bubble shows. Then you add in syndication and they become certain (well, likely in castle’s case since it’s already there, but still), so we get reassured about renewal. But looking back at their performance, I really do think that if we look a bit at lead-in and at competition, they are the best 10 pm shows on the respective nets (I know CSI is performing better than 50, but not only it has much weaker, not to mention with less cross audience, than 50, it also has a much more compatible lead-in). I know networks do not consider this when deciding to renew or not, but I am just saying.

  • Sam

    @ Terry,
Yes, Monroe was The Cape. He is kind of cute, but right now I like Miles more :)
Funny , The Cape was said to be offered to Alex O’ Loughling but he chose Hawaii instead . If he had gone to The Cape, he could had been playing Monroe now too. Interesting when REvolution is now crashing Hawaii.

  • aiden

the voice down jajaja 10 million of people watch last night the show and christinas album lotus sold 73,408! and debut number 7#…the voice win against the x factot but britney win in music against christina!!!

  • Grey

    @ bluejays

As I said, I don’t care what campe people are in and my choice of words (i.e. win, etc.) was just to illistrate my main point – they’re currently TIED. HELLO. People are putting all this effort into fighting over two shows that THE ADVERTISERS see as tied in the demo. I don’t mean to insult anyone but it’s stupid.
