    THE GOOD WIFE adjusted up.

TGW has a very oyal audience, with 1.7 week after week after week.

It’s a big hit with 10 million viewers.

  • Joshua

The Good Wife has been pretty solid… I hope is renewed… best show on CBS.

  • William

It’s a good thing I set my DVR to record 1 hr extra on The Mentalist. Mentalist should move back to during the week (maybe old thurs slot) and Hawaii 5-0 should get the current Sunday at 10 slot… either that or move H-50 to Friday before Blue Bloods

  • Justin121

    A reasonable guess

    Friday: Boss, Wife, Bloods.

    Sunday: Race, Mentalist, (Five-0?).

  • Joshua

that looks the right way to go next season…

Im reading the comments about Sunday nights and honestly Sunday nights are tricky in general. There’s football and their sunday night lineup and CBS are trying to please everyone. Unfortunately its pleasing no one. There are plenty of ways to work sunday nights but finding a solution is harder than it looks to us.

    correction: I’m

    I’m starting to like H50 @ 9:00 & TGW @ 10:00 on Sundays

Can’t get over how the toons are tooned out on FOX

    @ #1MentalistFan

So, after 4 full seasons on air (with steadily diminishing ratings for 3 of them in the same timeslot), now The Mentalist would need The Good Wife’s help to attract young viewers ?
Oh please, come on, I’m sure you don’t believe it yourself, do you ?

  • jo

go Family guy and american dad !

  • Barbie

@CBSViewer It’s bad for The Mentalist, because 1.4 demo for a Sunday is really bad news, while for a Friday night is good and completely average. Once Upon a Time is getting 3+ demos on Sundays. CBS is hoping for that. The Mentalist will be a goner, which is great news for CSI:NY. :)

No one in their right mind ever expected The Mentalist to be pulling a 3.0 this year. No one. CBS knew the best they could hope for was high-1s to low-2s.

  • Barbie

@THE OLD MAN The best thing they could possibly do to Five-0 is put it after the NCISs on Tuesday. If it made it 8-9-10. They could make another NCIS:LA crossover to introduce the new timeslot and seal the deal.

  • Barbie

@Holly, that doesn’t mean they won’t go after another show that will give them a 3. That’s my point. Thing is, they won’t expect ANY show to pull that on a Friday, because no show does. They’ve had a loyal following on Fridays for years. They know those people will be home watching their shows while the “demos” are out. They won’t be moving shows around willing to risk their following for nothing. But they will expect higher rates on a Sunday, because they know they can do better. The Mentalist isn’t cutting that. They may as well fish for a show that can bring them that.

  • Philip2

@Barbie: When did “completely average” become the new “good”?

    1) It was a 1.4 at 10:53 PM, not 10:00 PM. 2) OUAT airs at 9:00, TM at 10:00. Big difference, especially this year. 3) CBS doesn’t even hope for a 3.0 or better in the demo on Sunday at 10:00 (or 9:00, for that matter). 4) No 10:00 PM show on CBS will even average a 2.5 this season. 5) TM did a 1.8 in the demo and almost 12 million viewers on a Friday at 9:00 in April. 6) It’s obvious you love CSI: NY–a love that has caused you to make delusional statements about the show’s status.

  • Sunday

The Mentalist wasn’t given a fair chance this season. This season is far better than the last. Why cbs bothered to air a new episode close to 11pm? Who else gets the latest, unpreditable and ever changing time slot? This was the second time TM was pushed out of primetime. It’s funny this site handed out the cancellation verdict both times.

  • Barbie

@Philip2, actually, by average, I meant what shows will pull on Fridays. No shows go much beyond that. Just check out the Friday ratings, you’ll see there are no demos that will ever go beyond 2. That’s because Friday nights are when people who are 18-49 years old go out and have fun. Well, many of them. So, demos are *always* considerably lower. It’s always been like that. A 1.4, 1.5, 1.9 demo on a Friday, as in average — average that I meant as in NORMAL — is a GOOD thing. It means it’s not pulling a Nikita and going 0.2-0.3. Networks will not ever expect a show to pull a 2.5 on a Friday, while they do on the weeks. Yes, this year has been hard, but they still expect that. They still cancel shows because of that. And they will. They will keep expecting and try to improve these ratings until they adapt, for example, to DVRs and find a way to rate that.

The ratings on Sundays are not like Fridays. The networks will not, any time soon, be satisfied with a 1.4 on a Sunday, no matter how much you wish upon that. 1.4 is not a Sunday rating. They know they can do better, and have done better. 1.4 is still too low. 1.4 isn’t a week rating. 1.4 is Friday rating. I know you’re a The Mentalist fan, but it’s causing you to go delusional. CSI:Miami was canceled last year because it didn’t do well enough, while they kept CSI:NY, who had considerably lower demos (but almost as much total viewers — because its total viewers are always good), because it does very well for a Friday. Same thing with Blue Bloods.

CBS knows what they’re doing. I don’t want The Mentalist to be canceled. My mother and brother really like the show. But those ratings are VERY low for its timeslot.

  • Sunday

@ Barbie, I think you had too much faith in cbs by saying they know what they are doing. 1.4 was low. But The Mentalist wasn’t aired in its regular timeslot. Well, it doesn’t have one anyway. It’s aired almost 1 hour later on a Sunday. Now I dare anyone to make this a fan excuse bingo.

  • Douglas from Brazil

The Good Wife and The Mentalist belongs to its old timesolt which are tuesdays an thurdays at 10pm.I don’t know the reason why CBS did that horrible move.Other thing I want to know is the 8.0 adults 18-49 numbers overrun is from the game Patriots-Colts because I heard that was the most watched game this year.

    NFL football killed it.
