Last night’s Monday Night Football game (Bears/49ers) was simulcast on the CBS affiliate in San Francisco. As a result, the CBS numbers may be inflated  and subject to more than typical adjustments in the finals.

NBC was number one with adults 18-49, while ABC won with total viewers.

On NBC, The Voice earned a 3.7, down sharply from last week's 4.4 adults 18-49 rating. Revolution was even with last week's 2.6 among adults 18-49. Your predictions were too optimistic.

On CBS, How I Met Your Mother was even with last week's 3.0 among adults 18-49. 2 Broke Girls scored a 3.4, up two tenths from last week's 3.2 among adults 18-49. Mike & Molly earned a 2.9, down a tenth from last week's 3.0 adults 18-49 rating. Hawaii Five-O notched a 2.2, up a tenth from last week's 2.1 adults 18-49 rating.

On ABC, Dancing with the Stars scored a 2.3, up two tenths from last week's 2.1. Castle earned a 2.0, up a tenth from last week's 1.9 adults 18-49 rating.

On FOX, Bones scored a 2.0, up a tenth from last week's 1.9 among adults 18-49. The Mob Doctor garnered a 0.9, also up a tenth from last week's 0.8 adults 18-49 rating.

On the CW, 90210 earned a 0.4, down two tenths from last week's 0.6 adults 18-49 rating. Gossip Girl scored a 0.3, down a tenth from last week's 0.4 adults 18-49 rating.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

@Hanna, how nasty can one person be, it’s one thing to hope your show does good but something altogether different to wish bad things on other shows. How sad a life you must live to be that cruel to Kari.

  • Chris

Please CW cancel 90210! Sorry to the fans who enjoy the show, but ratings are horrible. CW should give the producers/writers a heads up to finish up the series properly. 90210, gossip girl, and Nikita are all pathetic ratings wise. I know Nikita is on Fridays but when you pull a 0.2 that is proof enough let go of the syndication idea.

  • Ateofi

Bleh, your remark about alex oloughlin fans is out of place and it’s rude. Revolution is being critisized by 80 percent of people watching this show. All of them are h50 fans in your opinion?

  • Terry

    @ Tessa

I was laughing at their attempt at suspense. OMG, is she going to wake up??? I was like, “Stop it! We all know she is going to. She’s the lead FFS!” It would’ve been cool though if she hadn’t.

Yeah I know it was obvious that Charlie would wake up, but I was hoping for a twist.

Last night’s episode was a dud. It was filler after filler, and other than the new development that Miles tried to kill Monroe, the whole story did not advance much further than last week. It would have been nice to know why Miles betrayed Monroe and why Monroe and not Miles was the leader of the Militia. If you remember the flashback to the days after the blackout, Miles was in charge, and he was the one decided that there had to be some order in this chaos. Monroe at that time was hesitant about killing other people. When had their roles reversed? Any revelation would have kept the fans happy and tuned in.

  • POIFanatic

@Ateofi: So you spoke with 5.6 million fans? Everybody knows that most of the internet is filled with narcissistic morons full of ego.

  • Terry

    @ Tessa,

How did you highlight previous comments?

  • AlexFan

@Bleh, your comment about H50 & Alex O’Loughlin fans is so way out of line, I know so many of his fans DON’T say negative things about other shows. I have always tried to be fair to every show for the simple fact that fans of those shows deserve respect. Rude and disrespectful comments are so childish. I refuse to run down another show just to praise my show up. I love H50 but I have respect for fans that don’t but I still won’t be a bully about it.

  • larrywitness

ITS time to retire Castle. For 2 seasons its ratings have been consistantly bad.

  • Overdamoon

    *typo in earlier post

MNF and after-game show were over by 9PM in San Francisco so 2BG, M&M and H50 were NOT preempted.

Were NOT. I don’t expect the numbers for those shows to be inflated.

  • kyle

    @larrywitness

Really? ABC has more issues then Castle. Also they are getting better ad rates for Castle then any other 10pm show.

  • Overdamoon

Hey, what’s going on? I love Alex O’ and I love H50 but the show isn’t at all about him.

Can we go back to The Voice/Flop Factor mud slinging?? LOL

  • AlexFan

@Overdamoon Thank you for being a voice of reason and intelligence :)

  • bluejays

oh my god! Stop with The Voice versus X factor idiocy. They’re both reality dross, both horrible style over content braindead rubbish. I hate them both, however on the ratings alone, The Voice is clearly ‘winning’ and what relevance does Britney’s album sales have on TV ratings?

  • Jim

    @POIFanatic

I AM over it. I gave Revolution 5 or 6 episodes before abandoning ship. The lead actress is horrible. The plot is pedantic. The writing is so bad that the actors appear to being trying to stifle gagging at the lines they’re being forced to utter.

    24 eh? Figures.

  • BagToPunch

I’m gonna be honest here, I don’t even know who this Alex O’Loughlin person is, but I still think Revulsion is terrible. It’s just more Fringe type nonsense that shouldn’t just be cancelled, but shouldn’t have ever been aired in the first place.

  • Ateofi

Ok, time to comeback to ratings doscussion. I don’t watch any talent show so, no comments on this. However, i am very much interested in ratings for 10 pm shows like “castle” and h50. I want both series to comeback for next seasons. The ratings nose-dived this season when compared to previous seasons so its good to see h50 gradually rebound, hopefully it will not be adjusted down. I am bit worried about “castle”, but i don’t think its in danger now. abc has more serious problem as they have already cancelled two new shows. i also pointed out few times before, that the whole 10 pm slot collapsed and monday ratings have to be compared with other week days as well. And most new shows at 10 pm struggle except revolution and they are on the verge of cancellation like vegas or nashville or cancelled already like 666 park avenue. Now i strongly detest “revolution”, but i have to admit that nbc did a great job promoting the show and putting it behind “the voice”. Initial ratings were stunning, but now the show seems to be losing steam. I guess, the return in march will be crucial for show’s future and possible renewal for season 2.

  • Tessa

    @Terry

Miles is pretty much the only reason I watch the show. Him and maybe Nora. But I agree with you on the questions. And also, for me to root for Miles I need to know why he was commander of militia in the first place, and why he changed his mind. Did he have a personality disorder and his good guy personality woke up halfway through his assignment? Was it due to a life changing event? (And please don’t let it be meeting the woman of his dreams or discovering a long lost child.) So long as we don’t know this it’s hard to fully side with his character because he could be as bad as Monroe, or a flip flopper.

Here’s how to highlight past comments:

I pretty much gave up on that CBS Monday lineup after Partners was cancelled.

    Season to date numbers….

Ratings for Scripted shows from 9/10 to 11/19. Fox and NBC launch premiere week 2 weeks earlier than CBS, ABC, and CW…. So the ratings that followed covered those two additional weeks plus yesterday’s preliminary ratings.

    Net A18-49
    CBS 2.632
    ABC 2.416
    FOX 1.996
    NBC 1.887

The ratings that followed are from what is considered the official start of the season (9/20) to Friday 11/16… The information excludes Fox and NBC results for 9/10 to 9/19.

Ratings for shows from 9/20 to 11/16
    Scripted
    Net A18-49 A25-54
    CBS 2.642 3.524
    ABC 2.42 2.996
    FOX 1.976 2.045
    NBC 1.804 2.167
    CW 0.729 0.745

Non Scripted (Does not Include Awards, News Shows, Sports or Specials)
    Net A18-49 A25-54
    NBC 4.013 4.7
    CBS 2.528 3.5
    FOX 2.489 2.884
    ABC 1.841 2.506
    CW 0.407 0.42

    Both Scripted and Non-Scripted
    Net A18-49 A25-54
    CBS 2.628 3.521
    ABC 2.278 2.875
    NBC 2.168 2.585
    FOX 2.091 2.233
    CW 0.656 0.671

Once you exclude Sunday Night Football (or Football and other sporting events), the ratings picture for the networks looks different. With both ABC and CBS having stronger Scripted fare than the other networks…

In a way, this is how networks should be judged because Sporting events will do well not matter what network they are aired in. It is just a matter of who buys the rights and decides to air the sport.

I really enjoy The Voice…but Bluejay72 is seriously making me feel like I hope it continues to drop. The childishness is just too much.
