Last night’s Monday Night Football game (Bears/49ers) was simulcast on the CBS affiliate in San Francisco. As a result, the CBS numbers may be inflated  and subject to more than typical adjustments in the finals.

NBC was number one with adults 18-49, while ABC won with total viewers.

On NBC, The Voice earned a 3.7, down sharply from last week's 4.4 adults 18-49 rating. Revolution was even with last week's 2.6 among adults 18-49. Your predictions were too optimistic.

On CBS, How I Met Your Mother was even with last week's 3.0 among adults 18-49. 2 Broke Girls scored a 3.4, up two tenths from last week's 3.2 among adults 18-49. Mike & Molly earned a 2.9, down a tenth from last week's 3.0 adults 18-49 rating. Hawaii Five-O notched a 2.2, up a tenth from last week's 2.1 adults 18-49 rating.

On ABC, Dancing with the Stars scored a 2.3, up two tenths from last week's 2.1. Castle earned a 2.0, up a tenth from last week's 1.9 adults 18-49 rating.

On FOX, Bones scored a 2.0, up a tenth from last week's 1.9 among adults 18-49. The Mob Doctor garnered a 0.9, also up a tenth from last week's 0.8 adults 18-49 rating.

On the CW, 90210 earned a 0.4, down two tenths from last week's 0.6 adults 18-49 rating. Gossip Girl scored a 0.3, down a tenth from last week's 0.4 adults 18-49 rating.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Season to date average for 10PM scripted shows on all Nets (Monday to Sunday) from 9/10 to 11/19

    Net A18-49
    NBC 2.341
    CBS 1.983
    ABC 1.853
    Overall 2.022

NBC’s huge lead is due to Revolution…Exclude those results, and NBC falls below ABC…

What this results show is the overall weakness of the 10PM slot across all the networks for all nights.

Clearly comparing a show at 10PM with one that airs earlier does not make sense.

Nielsen itself admits that the 10PM slot not only competes with programs from other networks but also from those shows that have been DVR earlier that night….As an FX executive put it “the most watched Network at 10PM is the DVR channel”.

Looking at these results, any show that gets a 2.0+ or better at this hour is doing very good…

  • retarded

bluejays is an awful poster I wish that dude would start posting under a different name.

  • Baaa!

@eridapo-Thanks for doing the research on something I have assumed for sometime now about the 10pm slot.

  • Duncey

In my opinion 5-0 would be doing a lot better if they moved it to Tuesdays behind LA instead of getting buried every week against Castle.

  • eridapo

    @ Baaa!

Here are the results for the 8PM and 9PM hour
    8:00 PM

    CBS 3.172 (TBBT and TAAHM)
    ABC 2.277

  • Nick

I hate the ratings that 90210 is getting because if I wasn’t such an avid fan of the show, I would’ve stopped watching last season too but season five is so good. The new show runners really messed things up last season.

  • Marge

    @Duncey

Not so sure about that. But H50 couldn’t be doing much worse for sure. The drop from season to season is alarming.

  • Chris

@eridapo–NBC’s huge lead at 10pm is only partly due to Revolution–the rest of it is due to H50 and particularly Castle. :)

  • Linda E.

Good for Hawaii Five-0. I hope it doesn’t drop in the final.
@Bleh: You blame Alex O’Loughlin fans for negative remarks about Revolution?
Seriously? Bwaaa-ha-ha!!! Anyone can recognize dreck.

  • Samuel

No need to listen to BlueJay, he’s obviously living under a rock if he doesn’t know who One Direction (platinum debut album, multi-platinum singles, just had their sophomore album go gold in it’s first week), Leona Lewis (multi-platinum singles and albums), Cher Lloyd (multi-platinum singles), or Demi Lovato (multi-platinum singles and albums) are.

  • mac

@Blech – unfortunately, I find myself agreeing with you re: O’Loughlin’s fans, and I’m one of ‘em. Most mainstream fans will tell you the nutbags are a minority, but they’re a loud minority. It seems the only way to justify their adoration of O’Loughlin is to trash anything that runs up against him and his show. They do nothing but embarrass themselves.

I like H50, but the numbers this year shock the hell out of me, especially since the episodes have been fairly solid. The man of the house really enjoys Revolution and we watch Castle together.

My guess is, H50 gets moved to a different slot next season to get the episodes it needs for syndication.

  • Kapernick > Smith

I think Hawaii Five-0 behind NCIS: LA would be a great idea, they had a crossover last season and it really helped boost Five-0. The Mentalist would work better there too.

Nick, the only thing I liked about 90210 last season was Dixon with Adrianna the rest of the season was a mess. This season is a little bit better but the best seasons were 2 and 3.

  • j

You don’t have to live under a rock, just not care much about pop music. There are plenty of people like that.

  • karin

Stop with The Voice versus X factor idiocy

  • karin

    sorry, “quote”

  • Lory

    Haha.
Do you remember when people were saying Hawaii 0 50 was going to get high 4 demo numbers?? And now that same people are saying the show is doing great with a 2 .2.
Hawaii 50 is the worst CBS show ever !!

  • voice of reason?

I am an Alex fan and a HF0 fan. I like the dynamics between the characters, I like the scenery and I like that they don’t take themselves too seriously which is what I need in a tv show. Having said that, I won’t bash other shows like some have done. I’m not a fan of all the singing shows – i just don’t watch them but I don’t need them to go away. I think those people that are bashing this show probably haven’t even watched it – the scripts and acting have been tight this season and I know several people that have started watching again but the competition is just too tough for three good shows to all succeed.

BTW – anyone who goes by the name “retarded” shouldn’t talk trash about other people and maybe should realize that that handle is very offensive to most people and especially those who work with the mentally disabled.

  • easy

Hawaii 5-0 is the best ever!!! :) Loved the episode last night and is happy that the show is going up in a steady pace. Congrats to cast and crew, we love the state of Hawaii too!!! Would love to see show go up even higher.
    Love Grace Park !!!!

  • Just Desserts

Ha. I watched Hawaii Five-0 last night. :) Wait in Spring when it finally beats Revolution!!!

  • Terry

    @Tessa

    Thanks for the tip!

Miles is pretty much the only reason I watch the show. Him and maybe Nora.

Charlie is such a weak character, I actually root for Aaron to have a more pivotal role in the show. He has become a strong ally for the group, someone that is loyal and reliable. Initially his only purpose was to be keeper/trustee of the pendant, but now that Monroe has the pendant, Aaron, and in a lesser extent, Nora, need their roles expanded.
