Mitt Romney ’47 percent’ watch: 47.53
When we last checked yesterday, Mitt Romney was at 47.56 percent of the popular vote. The last drama of the 2012 presidential cycle is whether Romney hits 47.49 percent of the total, thus gets rounded down to 47 percent.
Why does 47 percent matter? It doesn’t, except we’d get one more laugh at the utter irony of it all. And really, who could fault us for wanting one more laugh in a cycle full of them?
So the latest count, per Dave Wasserman’s county-level tabulations?
47.53 percent
The 0.03-point drop since the last update was fueled by returns from Denver, St. Louis, and Thurston County, WA (Olympia).
It’s hard to say how many votes remain to be counted, but just California and New York have about 2-3 million more votes outstanding. Thus, we’re well on track to get Romney that rounded 47 percent number.
———————————
On the positive side for Romney, he now has more votes then McCain(he is a few thousand under 60M and should climb over that), so you can throw that talking point out of the republicans talking points book
actually my last statement is wrong, Romney did creep over 60M(wikipedia has him as 59.99M

@AppleStinx
Thanks for the info on the ratings on Monday’s page. I still can’t find why cable news has the 35-64 demos. I’m guessing somebody wants them. I can’t imagine why Nielsen would count/collect them for nothing.

I am taking a guess when the cable news networks sell ads, companies targeting people in that age range are the ones buying(ie viagara, insurance, trips, retirement) hence why that specific demo is collected. In general if you are under 25 watching one of these networks while it might add to the total viewers you don’t really add much to the network generating revenue since people who do buy ads aren’t targeting you. On the flip side that 18-35 group definitely would help somebody say like Jon Stewart or Colbert who will attract advertisers aiming at that demo(generally considered one of the most desired demos)
Simon & Garfunkel had different barbers, unlike the Beatles.
Susan Rice found her voice?
We on the right must totally discredit and replace the corrupt media or the Dems. will always get away with scandals that would bring down a Republican President.
Worse than Watergate? Of course it is.
There are a number of ways to TOTALLY discredit CBS, NBC, ABC, Sixty Minutes, NY Times and the rest of the corrupt media cabal. We have some time now before they start campaigning for Dems. I am going to lay out a number of strategies soon.
The media’s focus now is to protect Obama and the progressive movement form criticism and investigation. They are trying to pretend to be news people now because the election is over and they need to keep their 1%er jobs.
Hillbilly, a couple of days ago it was rather silent on this site so i was going to play that same song, different version, but got sidetracked and didn’t.

The motto at MSNBC of ‘all left all the time’ is a financial train wreck. NBC has been trying to rid themselves of this huge financial drain but no one will touch it.
Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving!
Travel safe. Enjoy family. And most of all give thanks to God for all of your blessings!!
Richard,
What have you been reading? I read that Comcast is very happy with MSNBC. So? Can you post the link so I can read where you got your info? Thanks in advance and Happy Turkey day to all.
@Jeff
Don’t call Fox News viewers stupid when you’re the one who cannot spell “secession”.
@Politically weary, yeah not too smooth on my part! Oh well! It seems it took you a few minutes to figure it out, so congrats! My point goes far beyond a misspelled word, in a comment section on a website. But if that’s how small you think that’s your problem. My comment must of hit ya close to home, and gathering by your empty point it seems you prove the common conclusion about Fox viewers.
Leno: Obama Is Running Out of Republicans To Blame Fiscal Cliff On
“President Obama today pardoned the White House turkey,” Leno teased. “And then the turkey forgave him for the bad economy. So it worked out nice. Thought that was nice.”
“As you may have heard,” he continued, “our economy is headed towards what they call a fiscal cliff unless President Obama and Congress can reach some sort of compromise. And President Obama is in a tough spot. Because the Democrats did so well on Election Day, he’s running out of Republicans he can blame this on.”
It seems clear by the blind madness of the Republicans especially the ones that get their information from Fox News are far MORE angry at Obama, than the terrorists that killed the Americans in Benghazi. That’s pretty f–ked up!
Ratboy MSNBC covered all those conspiracy theories. Fast and Furious started under Bush and the conspiracy about creating a gun tragedy to take away all the guns is laughable. There are enough people dying of guns in the US to make a scandal out of it if the OBama administration wanted to.
Solydra represents 7% of all green energy projects. 93% success rate, and a 7% failure rate, but Fox News makes it looks like it was a 100% disaster.
It’s obvious who watches Fox News. People who use words like King Obama, or Obummer, or O’blamo, or O’fraudo. People with an axe to grind. You guys wrote this president off before he was even being elected. You started creating counters of how many days left until he was out of office.
And in the end it was all for nothing
You still got your booties handed to you during the last election.
So keep up the conspiracy theories. Fox News is sinking the REpublican brand.
Oh and MSNBC is available in 5 million less homes than Fox News, so the fact that it’s so close tells you something right there.
Enjoy the next four years of coming up with stuff to justify your hatred. Fox News will keep making money off of your ignorance and fear, and you will continue to lose elections because the rest of America thinks your nuts.
@Jeff
I just started reading these boards, and I don’t watch Fox News. Obama is doing a fine job as president, just some of his followers (YOU) ruin it for the rest of us. One’s preferred news channel does not determine their intelligence level.
