“DWTS: All-Stars – Results Show” (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

During the 8 o’clock hour, ABC’s “DWTS: All Stars -- Results Show” topped NBC’s “The Voice” in head-to-head competition by a season-best 3.6 million viewers (12.9 million vs. 9.3 million). In addition from 8:00-9:00 p.m. in Adults 18-49, ABC’s “Dancing” results program outdelivered Fox’s comedies by 46% (1.9/6 vs. 1.3/4 for “Raising Hope”/”Ben and Kate”). In another double elimination, Apolo Anton Ohno and Emmitt Smith were the next two dancers eliminated from the competition this season.

  • Building its numbers for its 2nd straight telecast, “DWTS: Results Show” was up week to week by 6% in Total Viewers, by 18% in Adults 18-34 and by 25% in Teens 12-17, hitting season highs on the latter two measures.

“Happy Endings” (9:00-9:30 p.m.)

In the 9:00 p.m. half-hour, ABC’s “Happy Endings” drew a 20% bigger overall audience than Fox’s time-period veteran, “New Girl” (4.9 million vs. 4.1 million).  In fact “Happy Endings” pulled in more viewers than all 4 of Fox’s Tuesday comedies for the 2nd week in a row, while also outdrawing NBC’s “The New Normal.”

  • Gaining 11% week to week, “Happy Endings” attracted its 2nd-largest audience of the season.

“Don’t Trust the B---- in Apt 23” (9:30-10:00 p.m.)

In the 9:30 p.m. half-hour, ABC’s “Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23” beat out Fox’s “The Mindy Project” by 19% in Total Viewers (3.2 million vs. 2.7 million).

  • “Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23” grew its overall audience by 3% from the previous week.

“Private Practice” (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

During the 10 o’clock hour, ABC’s “Private Practice” increased over the prior week by 11% in Total Viewers (4.1 million vs. 3.7 million) and by 9% in Adults 18-49 (1.2/3 vs. 1.1/3).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 46% currently, from 43% at the same point in 2011. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.

ABC just don’t pull the comedies let Apartment 23 burn through its 19 eps and be done with it

  • Justin121

    What a hot mess.

  • Jon Haven

I love Happy Endings. I want to believe the spin, man.

I love how this article makes it sound like they even did well last night. Like how HE beat NN…when they’re on a half hour apart.

  • cass rowland

happy endings and dont trust the b in apartment 23 are really good shows and it is a damn shame to know that they are currently underperforming and nowing that they are going to get cancelled and does not currently have to much time left on the airwaves but they are 2 great damn good shows and it is very fusturating to now that they have more viewers than alot of the comides that come on at the same tuesday night but they all have a lower stupid nelisen 18 to 49 demographic rating.

  • Dan T

Once again…what is the point of this spin? Who is it supposed to convince? It seems like ABC PR are just trying to create pointless documents to keep their jobs

I feel sorry for ABC to release this press. It has the 2 low-rated comedies on tv and they say that the comedies are gaining viewers? Is that real?
ABC is so stupid.NBC must be laughing right now.
