Wasn’t NCIS getting 20 million viewers on a pretty regular basis last season at this time?
ABC didn’t kill Happy Endings! Having gotten the Modern Family post-slot for one full season, it needs to be able to stand on its own. And it doesn’t! Consistently last season it lost over a third of its Modern Family lead-in.
ABC Wednesday is more family themed, not young adult hipster night. Paul Lee wanted Tuesday to be a night of affluent viewing. His strategy, not mine. He wanted the flow of DWTS to the comedies into Private Practice. What a horrible strategy. How does OLDER-skewing broad DWTS fit in with younger-skewing narrow comedies?
I have to ask….why would TBS pick-up Happy Endings? The show is already getting cable sized ratings and its on network TV…if it moves to TBS expect a whopping 0.3 from it.
@Lance, It didn’t have to face the Voice last year, but there are many factors at play.
@MARSEPH,
You may be right, but I guess we have to wait to see how Cougar Town performs on TBS. CT wasn’t exactly lighting the ratings charts on fire last season either.
Good for Emily Owens, best show on the CW.
Mamie Gummar is hilarious!!!!
Yay Private Practice? 1.3 is still not even remotely good for what this show was capable of doing in its post-Grey’s Anatomy slot. I’m extremely nervous to see what tonight’s airing brings (for those of you who don’t know, the geniuses at ABC programming decided to air a new Private Practice tonight as well, despite the rest of their programming being reruns). In other news, I’m happy to see The Voice adjusted up, but I’m upset that NCIS didn’t adjust up from its 3.0.
Private Practice managed to beat HE & Apt 23. It was bound to happen.

THANK YOU. I thought I was the only one with enough brains here. Their fans blame DWTS weak lead-in, yet Happy Endings still lost almost half of DWTS results show demo lead-in. I would totally agree with the fans arguing the timeslot against 2 other comedies IF there was substantial increases in DVR. There aren’t any. And if Apt 23 lives to see another day, ABC deserve 4th place. Another bingo excuse going around is the show is available online because it airs in Canada before it airs in the US. I won’t even touch that mess.
Good for PARENTHOOD!!! Going up with a terrible lead in.
happy ending and dont trust the b should both be on at 8:00
I just noticed the nose-dive in NCIS ratings.
It used to do no less than 18 million viewers for several seasons.
Has the eventual decline begun?
Shame. I thought it would be able to keep rising to 22 million viewers and more.
At least Go On didn’t hit a series low
@MARSEPH
I love Cougar Town but it’s ratings were at Happy Endings level this passing Spring and was picked up by TBS.
Happy Endings has been a failure since it premiered.
That 2.1 for Go On tied its season low & TNN 1.5 just set a new one
At least PH adjusted up (for what it’s worth)
kind of off-topic..but… http://tv.yahoo.com/news/exclusive-last-resort-666-park-avenue-tweaking-final-194045423.html
@ Tom
CW…the network for young snots!!!! Perfect for you & your acne!!!!
Would it be worth trying 9PM Private Practice, 10PM Happy Endings, 10:30PM Apartment 23? I am from the UK and only recently started following US television, have comedies ever been tried at 10PM before?
Emily Owens is still dead,it premiered low, had one or two 0.3, now two 0.4.Total viewers are meanlngless so it beating HOD means nothing as its the demo that matters & Hart still beats it there plus EO barley had more total viewers.Fact is,EO dosent have a backorder and isnt getting one,it would’ve been given it already if it was going to get one.Also,while its good EO rose, it’s still one of the lowest rated cw shows and 0.4 is far from good.
