Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

@ I love how NCIS, Criminal Minds, and Person of Interest are pulling about the same ratings. I would love to see POI get the title of TV’s #1 Drama.

Yep. But POI is ONLY show on broadcats network wich is UP from last season. All others are down. Its also most entertaining and funny.(Not like CM and NCIS LA)

TV’s #1 Drama will be possible only if continue to grow(and others to drop wich is the trend for now). CBS #1 Drama is best option here but still NCIS to beat not easy. CBS #2 Drama sure and best bet.

  • TVDude

Last night seemed to be a bad night for TV across the board. Vegas might have been up, but the number’s still not good.

NBC’s Tuesday comedies are like the 9pm Thursday comedies, I find that to be so funny since it’s like a trend. The sad part is, it probably won’t hold well in January when The Voice isn’t there.

I’m curious how much lower The Voice will go this season. It looks like NBC is really missing those chairs.

Parenthood has been stable all season, so this is kind of sad. It’s far from NBC’s worst problem, but hopefully it’ll rebound next week. I blame TNN.

  • HotLatino4GayMarriage

I’m sick of hearing about PoI on non-Thursday posts, it won’t be the #1 drama, dream on Grey’s, OUAT, anyone?

  • ReallyTired

But even with a 9pm sitcom glut, Go On wins. I’d say people have to be shocked by this. No? And its #1 of all new sitcoms this year. Granted its not half of Friends, Seinfeld or Frasier, but in 2012, not bad.

  • omabin

this is insane, the comedies really are killing each others too fast. ABC needs to wise up and fight the only thing that could still have a demo available, despite the NCIS presence, which is the older-skewing part of the demo. Just move the damn comedies to Wednesday as 10 as it should have been all along – it won’t get any better, just worse.
As for FOX, just give up on the 2 hour comedy block, it’s way too soon. Get Glee to save the night already, it’s the only doable thing at this point.

  • SarahL

Yikes, The Mindy Project is steadily heading for cancellation.

  • Petar Ivanov

@ I’m sick of hearing about PoI on non-Thursday posts, it won’t be the #1 drama, dream on Grey’s, OUAT, anyone?

You will hearing for this years ahead. Greys is droping so fast that will be hard to be #1 drama even on ABC. Once like most sci fi/fantasy shows drop after big 1 season(fringe, heroes etc.) and will only drop from here.

  • American

Pretty much what I expected for NBC, except I had the Voice a bit higher. Go On and New Normal had probably their best episodes yesterday.
CBS is fine in viewers, which is what I expected too.
Did not see B- in Apt. 23 going sub-1 so soon. ABC really needs to shake up Tuesday nights fast.
FOX…oh well. At least one show hit 4 million and a 2.0. (:

  • Bri

    @bros

“Person of Interest gets close enough to a 3.0 every week. Been getting mostly 2.8-2.9;s this season though.”

Yes POI is close to 3.0 but not there yet, Petar was mentioning no one was getting a 3.0 on tuesday, which he was correct but forgot to mention that POI isn’t there, yet :)

  • Greg

ABC made the right call by deciding not to air anything new today. It would certainly achieve new lows.

  • Cindy

As for the excuse that the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday is responsible for the low ratings than why the big difference (almost 10 million viewers) from the finale 2 years ago that was held at the same time? This week was only the semifinals but 1.9 vs 5.2 and 12.87 vs 24.19? How can ABC spin this?
Dancing with the Stars: All Stars 1.9 6 12.87

    PreThanksgiving Results Show for Finale
    Season 11
ABC waltzed to victory for the night in both in adults 18-49 and total viewers as the Dancing with the Stars finale averaged a 5.3 rating with adults 18-49 and over 24 million total viewers between 9p-11p. That’s up 23% from last fall’s finale.

Finals (day 1) Finals (day 2)
    5.3 24.19

    Season 13
ABC’s two hour Dancing with the Stars results finale lifted it to the adults 18-49 rating and total viewership win for the night, but its 4.1 adults 18-49 rating was down 23% vs. last Fall and was its lowest rated Fall finale ever.
    Final Results Show November 22, 2011 4.1/11 19.45

    Parenthood :(

  • Petar Ivanov

If go on really take that slot from NG will be surprise of the year.

SO from all new shows only one that are hit are these after the voice RVN and go on and Elementary after super bowl. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Greg

And this Wednesday comedy block NEEDS to go. Move it to Wednesday at 10 or Fridays at 8 (when TGIF drops even further) or whatever. This is not working.

  • wicked

@michael: christina needs all the promotion she can get. the numbers/sales for her new album have been nothing short of an embarrassing disaster

  • Ted Craig

Why do people think Apt. 23 and HE deserve to be moved? HE has never been a ratings winner and has had plenty of chances.

  • Mr Mumble

    Week on week demo changes…

Can we have “Thanksgiving” put on the fan excuse bingo card?

  • HotLatino4GayMarriage

The only place I hear abot PoI is on the comments on here, it has zero hype unlike Revenge, GA, OUAT. You’ll be disappointed, accept the fact it’s just another boring procedural.

  • Melanie

I really, really like Vegas. I wish it was doing better. My only hope for it is that it becomes the new “The Good Wife” – a good show with low ratings renewed for four seasons. Its a slim hope, I know.

Geez, the comedies are killing each other. Too bad the CW doesn’t have another counter programming comic book/action-type night on Tuesday like Arrow & SPN — it would be competative with this sorry lot.

  • Bobby

Okay these comedies on Tuesday are killing each other!! But ABC is getting beat up the most. so ABC, no, your comedies aren’t bad…just move them to a different night!! You could put HE and AP23 at 10 and 10:30 on Wednesday to have a whole night of comedy(is 10 too late to start comedies though?). Or move the neighbors to tuesday, move suburgatory to 8:30 and HE at 9:30. Not sure where B would fit in though.
