Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

It was stupid to air the best episode Glee has ever done on Thanksgiving. Yet the ratings are ok, considering it was aired on Thanksgiving.

  • taylor

not bad for x-factor. people were predicting mid-1′s yesterday

  • American

NBC announcement soon about winning first Thursday in so many years…just wait.

  • marcos

I think the best episode glee ever done is The break-up. period.

  • Carmen

All things considered, The X-Factor didn’t do all that badly last night.

  • rob60990

X Factor’s ratings are approximate due to NFL overrun. It may adjust down.

  • Remote Patrolled

Good result for X Factor – rising on last week and on Thanksgiving. People said it would be in the 1′s. Plus it started 20 mins late (damn you Fox scheduling – again!)

    Headline is misleading!

  • Alan

So bad for Glee! I can see it ending next year.

  • Raul

X factor is a great show to watch!!! maybe some new viewers got to see what they are missing !!!!! hands down best talent show on TV !!!! yes,it is better than the voice!!! when they establish an artist anywhere around the world or in USA , i may watch . . . . until then X-factor it is, their record speaks for itself !!!!!!!!

  • Gabe

Terrible ratings for Glee despite one of the best episodes so far. Series low?

  • Baqinardo

Xfactor couldnt even crack 3.0 with that big lead.

  • Kavyn

@Remote If XFactor was 20 minutes late then there’s a good chance it’ll adjust (most likely down).

  • rob60990

“Xfactor couldnt even crack 3.0 with that big lead.”

In X Factor’s defense, I’m sure majority of football viewers just tuned into the NBC game. Football’s audience isn’t interested in a singing show.

  • Stacey

I know Glee was delayed at least 20 minutes for some people because I’ve seen complaints by people that they lost the end of the show on their DVRs due to the overrun. Also, interesting Glee went up in viewers this week over last but down in the demo. I’m expecting adjustments in the finals for X Factor and probably Glee.

Regarding last night’s Glee ep, it really was one of the best episodes they’ve ever done.

  • a p garcia

FOX should have kept Glee on Tuesday like last year.

  • Ultima

    @American
NBC announcement soon about winning first Thursday in so many years…just wait.

Yeah, because this is the first time NBC has every aired a Thursday night NFL game…

  • Max

    @Raul

Other than UK & US versions every other The Voice (including the biggest populace country in the world-China) has had an artist go gold or platinum…it’s only time (Season 3?) for the same to happen over here.

  • rob60990

    1.5 for Glee?

  • s0303

not surprised xfactor did okay since it had football as a lead in…

  • cc

TBBT rerun vs a Modern Family rerun. No contest.
