Brian Applegate Named Senior Broadcast Producer and Matthew Glick Named Senior Producer of 'CBS This Morning'

BRIAN APPLEGATE NAMED SENIOR BROADCAST PRODUCER AND MATTHEW GLICK NAMED SENIOR PRODUCER OF “CBS THIS MORNING”
Brian Applegate has been named senior broadcast producer and Matthew Glick has been named senior producer of CBS THIS MORNING, it was announced by Chris Licht, Vice President, Programming, CBS News and Executive Producer of CBS THIS MORNING.
“Brian has terrific news judgment, and now you’ll see that on a bigger platform,” said Licht. “He is also a great leader and control room pro.”
“I’ve known Matt for years, and I know that his drive and personality will mesh perfectly with the CBS THIS MORNING team,” Licht added. “I’m very pleased we were able to bring his talents here to head up our stellar booking department. His seasoned editorial voice will be a great addition to the senior team.”
Applegate has served as executive producer for CBS News’ overnight broadcast UP TO THE MINUTE and the 4:00 AM broadcast CBS MORNING NEWS since 2011. There he spearheaded its newly revamped set and control room. Applegate was responsible for the network’s overnight breaking news cut-ins, including the death of Ted Kennedy and the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Applegate joined CBS News in 2008 as a senior producer for UP TO THE MINUTE after three years as a WCBS-TV producer. Prior to that position, he was a producer at the NBC affiliate WHDH-TV.
Glick is a four-time Emmy® Award-winning producer who most recently served as senior producer for NBC Universal, assigned to Special Bookings. He was part of the senior team that helped launch NBC’s “Rock Center with Brian Williams.” Before joining NBCU, Glick served as Vice President of Creative Affairs at REVEILLE. Glick worked at NBC News in various roles, including supervising producer on the weekend edition of “The Today Show.”
