    Re: Family Time Together contest!!

I’d like to nominate the Bruffett Family of Ft Riley, Kansas for this vacation.
Army Sgt. Kevin Bruffett, first of all, has been a wonderfully kind and loving step-father to my 10 year old granddaughter, Kayli Hodges. He also has his own daughter, also ten years old, who lives here in Jacksonville with her mom.
Kevin and his wife Angela moved out to Ft Riley after Kevin joined the Army a couple of years ago.
Kevin was soon shipped over to Afghanistan to serve. His vehicle hit an EUD just a few weeks ago and Kevin was hospitalized with several injuries. He was sent back to his group as soon as he was able. He was promoted to Sgt AND just received the Purple Heart! When he left, he had a new baby girl and his wife had just learned that they were going to have another baby! So he hasn’t had the pleasure of meeting his new little baby girl yet.
We all know how very expensive it is just to get tickets for a family of six, much less the cost of hotel accommodations too!
Angela has always made sure that my side of Kayli’s family get to have as much time with her as possible. She will be making the two-day drive with a 2 year old and a 3 month old and Kayli just to make sure Kayli is with us for Christmas! She does it for Spring Break and Summer Vacation too without ever complaining. It’s important to her that Kayli gets to be with a d enjoy ALL her family.
I cannot express how much I appreciate the lengths Kevin and Angela go to for a Grandmothers heart!!
We all pray for Kevin’s safe return back home soon. Maybe even by Christmas!!

I know there are many deserving families, but the Bruffett family deserve some special time together with FOUR little princesses , There is just no better place than Disney! I’d be overwhelmingly grateful to be able to send them on this trip to say THANK YOU for your service and sacrifice for all Americans….but from “the other” grandmother that they could just “tolerate” but chose to love and include instead. All because of the one little girl that we all share!
I wish all complicated relationships could be as fortunate. We are truly blessed!
Please consider them for this trip.
Thank you so very much. Whoever wins this will be over the moon! No place like Disneyworld!!!

Again!! I think my reply got lost in the technology. I am writing for a day care provider named Stephanie LLoyd. She loves each of her students as though they were her very own. By the age of two they have learned to recognize the alphabet and to give its sound. She nurtures them, coddles them, feeds them nourishing meals, teaches them to sign, recognize the colors and even has some of them reading as she prepares them for pre-school. They know their numbers, too. They receive daily recess and excersises.I met this wonderful caring lady as she her little ones took their walks past my house. They always want to stop to give me a hug and to share their learnings. She and the children deserve a trip to be with the Disney characters. Thanks for the chance to offer them a trip. I am 66 years of age and probably would enjoy going with her, if the good Lord continues togive me more time.

I nominate my husband and my sister’s children–ages 18-6-and 3. My husband and I have a very strong bond with the three of them. We love to spend as much time as possible with them. The children do put up with alot of unhappiness in their home due to a dad that likes to drink and yell and scream and not provide them with a normal loving family life. So, this is why it is very important to my husband and I to spend a lot of fun time with them. Usually, in the summer we spend days at the Jersey shore doing the rides and having fun (which was Julianna’s only wish for this past summer). We were unable to fulfill her wish due to my husband having major surgery in May and being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This vacation would be a dream for my husband–just to see the joy and excitement in the faces of Maria, Julianna and Justin. Thanks and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

  • Carol Halstead

I’d like to nominate Brandi and Kiley Crehan. Brandi is trying to raise Kiley very much alone. Kiley is struggling with the divorce and sharing her Dad with a new family. I think that Brandi would invite her two nephews to have some one for Kiley to have fun with. The three children are ages 14, 12 . and 11. I realize other children might have harder lives but what child dosen’t deserve a trip to Disney world. The 14 year old might elect not to go if he has to miss school because he beleives that he is in the top few of his class because he is at school every day. These three kids are my grand children and I’ve always wanted to do this for them but can’t .

  • Estella Shivers

I would like to nominate Lashonne Rodriguez for the “Family Time Together” contest. Mrs. Rodriguez has been steadily working and supporting her family for the last few years, since her husband has been able to land a steady job. Her family is consisted of an 8 year old daughter, 13 years old son, herself and her husband. Not only does she support the family financially but also keeping up with her children’s schooling, and health coverage for the entire family. She is more than worthy for a time of rest by winning this contest. Her

Since I can only TIVO two shows at once, I have decided to quit The View and put on Kathy Lee on the 10 o’clock hr. of the Today Show.
On the View they constantly talk over one another and its very annoying. Also Barbara Walters never lets anyone speak and just talks about herself…
I need a break from the show…Personally I think the shows with the Prez and his wife are overkill.

  • Toni Bershing

I am nominating my son Dan.He is 46years old,has a wife and 7 year old daughter adopted from China. He has been diagnosed with AS(ankylosing Spondylitis) which is a chronic progressive connective tissue disorder. It is inflamation of the joints of the spine, hip bone and sacrium joints. It affects 1.4% of the general public. It causes stiffness and swelling of the joints. It is a very serious form of Rheumatoid arthritis. There is no cure.I am sure the warm weather in Florida would brighten his spirits as well as make his daughter Clair feel like a princess for a day.It would be such a special gift for him.Thank You,I watch your show daily.Happy Holidays to all on the view.

  • Patricia McCue

I would like to nominate my daughter Jeanne Delaney and her husband Tim and
their five children. They have both done a remarkable job of bringing up
five children who are admired by everyone with whom they come in contact
with such as teachers, part-time employers, etc. This family has never
had a vacation together because they could never afford such an expensive
but they never complained as they understood why.
They have taken on little jobs mowing lawns, babysitting and so on. They
knew that with five kids in the family they wanted to contribute. They
    truly deserve this vacation.

I would like to nominate my daughters family, the Keady’s. The have never really been anywhere on a vacation. My son in-law works very hard at a low paying job to take care of his family. This year is there tenth anniversary and this would be a great way to show them there hard work and sacrifice hasn’t gone unnoticed. They are trying to save to go to Disney land right after the new year and this would be perfect. Our whole family could go on our first vacation together in 20 years. The kids ten and two are giving up Birthday and Christmas presents to be able to go. If they win we will send lots of pictures. The two year old’s favorite person right now is Mickey Mouse. Meeting him would be special for all of us. I love and watch your show almost everyday.

I would like to nominate my daughter, Adadra, her husband Joel, and their four children, Jessa(6 months), Chase (8 years), Kaitlyn (16 years), and Evan (18 years. My husband was killed in 1998 in a highway accident. In 2001 my daughter was told she could not have children. They started proceedings to adopt abused siblings from the state of S.C.. The next year at Christmas, they were ours. We had a wonderful year as a family. The following Christmas (2003) Adadra’s mentally and phsycally challenged brother, Lukas, died unexpectantly on December 26, as the result of influenza. We all tried to comfort one another. In 2004, Adadra’s sister gave birth to a little boy, Chase, born November 30. The following July, her sister was a single parent and undergoing a liver transplant. Adadra moved her sister in her home and took on the responsibility of her sister’s recovery and the raising of Tristan’s little boy. Tristan was able to move out about a year later. In 2010, Tristan’s liver began to fail once again. She received her second liver transplant on her 32nd birthday. Once again, Adadra stepped in to assist her sister anyway she could. Unfortunately it was clear from the start the second transplant was not responding. Adadra’s husband, Joel, was a victim of the economy crisis in America and has not had employment since 2009, a preety bitter pill for a go-getter Notra Dame graduate. Adadra found work in their home town of Elloree, SC. She later was able to upgrade with insurance coverage by accepting a position with another company and relocating to Savannah, Ga. and then to Atlanta, Ga.
Something wonderful (and complicated) occured….at 40 years old……Adadra was pregnant! After all these years! But, her husband still had not found work, she would stop working due to the high risk pregnancy,
and they would need to move back to SC and home. Two weeks after the baby was born, her sister died. It was her sister’s request that her son, Chase, be given to Adadra. Not only does Adadra have a new baby, 2 teenagers, and an unemployed husband, she is now responsible for the care of a grief stricken 7 year old. It has not been an easy turn of life to endure but you will never hear Adadra complain. She is honoring her sister’s wishes and doing everything she can for Chase, along with nurturing a beautiful gift in her 6 month old and enduring the trials of raising teenagers. If you stack up all the sorrows in Adadra’s life she will still tell you the blessings are always greater. For her ability to see light in all that darkness makes her the right recipient of your kind gesture. Please consider the Williams family when making your decision.
    Thank you, her mother.

I have an unusual request for the family-time together contest as I have never met the family and it will take some research to. Locate them,so I will just explain the situation. In Augest 2008 my family went camping at MooseHillock Campground in Warren N.H. It rained terribly the entire week . At a campground just a few miles from ours a family was in their van and was swept away in a flash flood of sorts. It was in the newspaper that the family lost one of their children by drowning in the river.I prayed for them often as I couldn’t imagine the pain they were experiencing .. The children were the same age as my children at the time six&eight years old.Two days later I recieved a message from home that my mom was terribly ill.We returned home immediately only to find my mom was soon to die.She was my biggest advocate and my best friend! Two weeks later my dad was diagnosed with an inoperable cancerous brain tumor. I was their primary caregiver ,myself disabled ,and needless to say I was devastated. My parents passed exactly 5 months and one week apart. Back to where I started no matter how crushed I was whenever I felt sorry for myself I would remember the family in the paper and take the time to pray for them ,I just couldn’t imagine their pain , things did not happen in life’s natural order for them. I think of them , and pray for them often still.I wonder how they are and how they survived and as I previously stated I don,t even know their names.I wish you would consider them for the Disney Family vacation it would be nice if they could get away with surviving family members and not forget their pain but maybe just step away from it for awhile.I would try to research their information myself but I’m clueless on the research aspect in. Fact this is my first e.mail I’ve ever sent

  • Nancy Heussler

Hi it’s Nancy Heussler again As I stated previously I am clueless to the whole computer e-mail stuff, I’m not sure if my request was submitted or not ,my computer shut off ,and it appears as though I was unable to add on to my request,my daughter say ‘s it was! Anyway please consider the missing family , Sincerly , Nancy Heussler. (603) 889-1686.
