Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Revenge was great last night but the walking dead was absolutely amazing. Once wasn’t that good maybe im losing interest in the show because its getting boring to me.

  • Greg

    Mike and CoolRanch,

The gay guys…I never cared to remember their names. Didn’t like them from the get go, and mad at Amazing Race for always picking unattractive gay men (most of which are effeminiate and not all gay men are effeminate…most I know are very masculine)…plus at least one of the gay men they pick always has a big round alien head. I swear its true. Look back at past seasons (and I’m not talking about the first gay male team on the show who resembled the Chippendales) and you’ll see what I am talking about.

They still had ONE MORE TASK to do BEFORE going to the PIT STOP. When both teams arrived and found Ryan and his g/f were U-turned…the least the gay guys could have done was go with them to wait on them after they completed their task…AND THEN ALL BETS WOULD BE OFF AFTER THAT and both teams would have gone to complete the next task (jumping over the canal and retrieving the shoes) and then find their way to the Pit Stop. The gay guys contemplated doing the right thing but then greed and selfishness got in their way and thats when they totally lost all my respect. I hope they go home this next episode…but knowing Amazing Race there will be one more non-elimination race and I’ll have to endure the big alien head and his unattractive effeminate boyfriend for another episode! I swear, if those two gay guys win this thing I am going to give up my gay card!!! LOL

  • Andreas

What’s the deal with the Revenge troll who’s first every Monday morning? Does he wait and keep refreshing just to make some ridiculous troll comment? What’s he butthurt about because he’s clearly motivated by epic butthurt.

  • Ryan

Personally I found last nights episode of Revenge rather boring. Not surprised it got the rating it did.

  • CoolRanchDoritos

Seriously i told you their names you can stop calling them the gay guys, its quite rude. Their names are at the bottom of the tv throughout every episode but you never cared to learn them, ok. If you claim to hate Josh & Brent WHY ARE YOU STILL WATCHING. & making fun of how they look is quite rude too.

how about i start calling you the unattractive gay guy.

  • karin

hi Mods? is it an ABC ‘s press review?
    Revenge or OUAT only…
    Boring as hell,who cares?

  • Mike

    @Greg
I personally don’t care if they’re attractive or not it has nothing to do with the game, and second of all so if you are in their situation you would have practically given up your chance for the million and gone with Abbie and Ryan to spectate a challenge you were not required to do, great, you are a better person than me, but can you actually say that if the roles were reversed Abbie and Ryan who were fighting for 2 mil would have actually sated with Josh and Brent, I’m sorry but they were the most competitive team this season, and there is no way they would have gone to spectate a challenge they did not to complete. I’m nt even rooting for Josh and Brent, but it would have been idiotic for them to stay behind, would it have been nice yes, but in that situation they would have lost to Abbie and Ryan and been eliminated.

  • FlorinDobri

    And Greg,
Was it nice what Abbie& Ryan did in the first leg when they were helped by Amy&Daniel, but they were so greedy about those 2 million dollars that they didn’t even care and stole the win from their hands ( it hurt me seeing Amy forcing herself to run faster just because Abbie and Ryan were such jerks). That being sad: Karma’s a bitch and they got what they deserved.

TVBTN had written an article about The Mentalist (incredible ?) success in France:
    http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2011/01/03/the-mentalist-29-in-the-usa-but-1-in-france/77022/

    @ Everyone

    Other ratings i found:
    – CSI: Miami = 4.6 million (airs in summer)
    – Blue Bloods = 2.5 million
    – Desperate Housewives = 3.4 million (Series finale will air Wednesday, November 28 at 9:00PM)
    – The Good Wife = 2.2 million (series low = 1.57 million)
    – House = 7.5 million
    – Fringe = 1.8 – 2 million
    – Supernatural = 800,000 viewers

  • Amy

Revenge has a few problems this season:

    1) Aiden: he needs to go ASAP

    2) The back stories and conspiracies are becoming more complicated and ridiculous by the minute

3)Emily really hasn’t done much this season to get back at the Graysons

  • psychic

Death to Revenge. It annoys the hell out of me.

Yay, Mentalist. Please don’t get cancelled.

The Mentalist will get an early Renewal.
The Final battle: CSI: NY vs. The Good Wife.
Hope CSI: NY will be Renewed for a Tenth Season. The show is getting better and the Ratings are stable and not so bad for a Friday Show (Blue Bloods has the same demo). On the other hand, The Good Wife is in its fourth season and only got a 1.7 plus the show is not sure to be syndicated.

Revenge did seem pretty slow and boring in the first half hour, but it was excellent in the second half hour as they got into some action and tied loose ends together for present day relevance.

  • omabin

Last year, they said their decision between the csis came down to costs but especially scheduling issues (basically they preferred sending mentalist to sundays than fridays), so i think the same thing can happen this year. I think h50 does not fit on a friday but i could see it doing well enough at sundays at 9pm, so it might go there, in which case the mentalist would be a much more obvious pairing than the good wife. So i think mentalist is sort of safer. Then, however, it gets tricky. I still say that they will not premiere another flop on friday and will just keep the three bubble shows, simply putting good wife at 8 on fridays. If they do insisit on canceling one though, i think the good wife gets it, a la fringe next year. Although 88 is enough for syndication, 100 seems to make it way more attractive. So, let’s put it this way: if the good wife gets a deal until then i think it is safe. If not and if cbs insists on the friday premiere for a new drama, then i say it is between it and csi ny for the friday 9pm spot and i say good wife gets it.
