Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2012 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.
Definitions:
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Max really does need a life. How sad.
Revenge was actually good last night but lots of people watched that trashy Lindsay Lohan movie that started at 21. For the first time this season Revenge did really bad in the rating at least for its standards. I am loving season 2 and its ratings deserve to be much much higher but this is American TV after all and well they need their American Football and trashy Lindsay Lohan Lifetime movies.
I thought that Victoria’s mom would have brought in some more viewers!
Aww, I love these excuses- keep them coming good people of TVBTN.
And LOL @the person who said ABC will promote the mid-season finale a whole lot. All ABC does is shovel cash to promote REVENGE and for two seasons now, it hasn’t made the show any more of a “hit” than the media wants people to believe.
Perhaps ABC is on the phone now with EW to get them to do a REVENGE cover story to come out in this week’s issue ahead of the episode.
The Good Wife is a great show. Hope the ratings go up after NFL season
@ Max
Yeah come Spring not even Shonda’s reputation will be able to save Scandal which will be canceled.
@Max
You know, it’s really sad that you care about those “lame excuses”, why don’t you just let it be? Revenge will be renewed anyway >=)
@Max,
Do you honestly have nothing better to do with your life? Somehow you are always the first person to post the day after Revenge airs and the day after American Horror Story airs. Perhaps its time to get a job and leave the computer behind so that you aren’t the first poster everyday.
Secretly, we all know you love the shows and seek attention from everybody on the site. Grow up a bit.
@a p garcia: I will never understand how ratings can prove the quality of a program. Do you think people can un-watch something they didn’t like?
Thank goodness I wasn’t in Baltimore or Washington or some other markets where TAR would’ve been almost a full hour behind. (I live in Knoxville, Tenn.) These are the markets where viewers had to wait a long time for CBS programming (at least if you were stuck with Ravens-Chargers, though what a spectacular 4th and 29 by Ray Rice, sorry Charger fans); 60 Minutes 7:58/6:58c, TAR 8:58/7:58c, TGW 9:58/8:58c, Mentalist 10:58/9:58c:
Atlanta, GA
Baltimore, MD (duh!)
Brownsville, TX
Chicago, IL
Fargo, ND
Harrisburg, PA
Harrisonburg, VA
Mankato, MN
Miami, FL
Milwaukee, WI
Minneapolis, MN
Salisbury, MD
Washington, DC (my uncle lives in Alexandria, Va., just thought I’d mention)
And all the SAVE 666 posts look the same, with different names. Time for a block?
Strong OUAT ep.
Weak Revenge ep. Should bounce back next week.
Srtong 666 ep. Improves weekly.
Overall a good night of television.
God Mad Max is so Annoying!!! Hating a tv show so much is pretty sad, what did Revenge ever do you?? Fool!!!
I didn’t really care for Revenge last night. It was nice to see how Emily/Amanda and Aiden met. But I’m not a big fan of flashback episodes.
@ MAX
Keep your energy worrying about Scandal, Revenge’s season low which is quite bad is still better than anything Scandal has gotten this season, you know the only reason its on the air is because of Shonda Rhimes and Grey’s Anatomy.
Yay Once
Some of these comments are hysterical.. lol anyways. I dont have any shows on sunday that i watch, i watch Football.. but isnt everything usually pretty low during foorball season. So whats the big deal if the show slips a little during that time.. chalk it up as lesson learned maybe its time to rethink our airing dates, so we dont have to compete with football. Doesnt that sound reasonable? And another thing too does anyone know where to find how the holiday movie did on saturday on the hallmark chanel, ive been looking everywhere cant find a thing.. if anyone can help id apreciate it. Thanks.
I think Liz & Dick was the reason for Revenge hitting season low. I’m sure it will bounce back next week to a range of 2.6 – 2.8. And great for Once Upon A Time.
@ Roco
LOL @ Max
Not that I like feeding the troll, but his comment today was really funny
GO once upon a time!!!
Bounce back more next week.
